~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Can't believe how close we're getting!!! :yay: We still don't have airfare and I'm getting nervou . We have resies at WDW Tues before the cruise and the holiday drives up the price. Continental is still mostly empty for the flight we want so we've been waiting.

I'm also anxiously awaiting the new passporter guide. Anyone know when they might ship?

Well, off to bed. I'm going to exercise tomorrow before work. I need to work off all the bad "summer food" and beverages I've been having .

Gailyn
The latest I heard was that the passporters will start shipping on July 27th.

I wanted to add the before WDW to the cruise but it looks much cheaper after with the holiday. Now i'm just looking for a discount so I don't have to pay rack rates.

WOW! There is a lot of activity now! :goodvibes

Ok, I am getting so excited- CC Club members can start booking 95 days out as long as we are paid in full, right? That should be August 25th?

We are definately doing the Dolphon Swim in Cozumel with Disney, not sure about the others yet...

Jen - with all you have going on for wedding stuff I will caution you that you may not even want to KNOW what a FE is? :rotfl2: It is basically for "Fish Extender" and if you run a quick search you'll find threads dedicated JUST to this alone! :surfweb:  My abbreviated version is that it's sorta like a secret santa. There's a list of people who want to participate and do a gift exchange by placing something in the "Fish Extender" of the cabins of those participating. The FE is something that hangs on the fish outside your cabin door. That's the WAY abbreviated version...don't say you haven't been warned if you decide to go check it out. :rotfl:

Re excursion booking dates etc: I'm not a CC member so I will have to sit patiently popcorn:: and listen to y'alls booking stuff waiting on my date to roll around. ;)

I don't know what to do about making final payment and booking excursions!

Since I am silver CC, I can make ressies at 90 days (August 29) but does that also mean I have to pay before that date? The actual PIF date (75 days) is the start of a new billing cycle for my credit card (Disney) which gives me 6 months free financing. So....if I do have to PIF for 90 days, that moved my timeframe up a billing cycle.

Do I take a chance that my excursions won't be sold out if I wait til 75 days? So conflicted!!!:confused3

If it is for excursions, I would wait. If you want something specific at Palo, I would consider paying.

That logo rocks, nice job! We bought some FE trinkets months ago, but the way things are going we may need to get more. Looks like there will be a nice turnout. Can't wait for that darn passporter to come out too. :rolleyes1

Right now we have

# of Cabins 17

# of Girls 11
# of Boys 12
# of Adults 31
Total # of People 54

for the FE.

As for the new passporter, I want it NOW!!! The online version just isn't the same. I think they sai they'd start shipping July 27. I just hope mine gets here QUICKLY!!! :goodvibes

As for payment and reservations, we do want to try Palo since we didn't on the 3 night (didn't want to miss any of the restaurants). Just trying to figure out what night to try for and if it's worth it for one less month of free financing or if we should take our changes to book at 75 days...

They keep a certain number of Palo bookings for each booking date. The advantage is the ability to try again if you don't make the first booking. For instance, we are gold members, so we can book at 105 days. If I can't get a seating then, I can try again on the 90 day mark and again at 75 days if necessary. It just gives me more opportunity to get a seating. And there is always the chance you can get a booking once on board, or at least on the waiting list.

Good Luck!!!

Darcy,

I didn't know about the billing cycle issue with Disney Visa. I thought whenever you charged a DCL fare it was 6 mos same as cash from that date. Am I confused??? :confused3

On the question of Palo, we have booked successfully at 90 days out and day of boarding and have been able to book both brunch and dinner. The only difference is we didnt get our first choice of days and a later dinner - maybe 8:00. Not the best, but not going to turn it down.

Eeks, now I have to figure out my billing cycle!

Thanks,
Gailyn

Has anyone ever used Hotwire to book travel? We found a great price for a car rental, but wanted to check on other's experiences before we booked.

Thanks!
Stephanie

Sorry - I've never used them to give you feedback. Can you see what rental company they are quoting you? I would think if you have an actual company then you can't go far wrong? :confused3

Just weighing in on the FE cut off. I would love 6 weeks but definitely 4 week minimum in order to get it done. Just curious on the current kids ages - are they all within a basic group that they could get the same things?

Kids survived some ocean water in ME this weekend which was probably abt 70 degrees. That made me more hopeful for water activities for the cruise. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes!

Hope everyone is doing well. Can't believe July is already half over!

Did I tell you that we just booked a trip to CA in early October for a cousin's wedding? Well, now we are going to get to experience even more Disney because we are going to take the kids to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (anyone been) at California Adventure and to Disneyland. Anyone been to either park and have helpful hints?

My kids are already asking if they can wear all their Disney clothes in CA and on the cruise. Too cute!

How awesome....severely jealous of you right now! :upsidedow I haven't been to Disneyland in about 20 years - probably longer, but we did go to MNSSHP at WDW last year. It was SO much fun - I'd do it again in a heartbeat. We dressed up as ghosts from the Haunted Mansion!

Sounds lovely and what a great way to get more use out of the Disney clothes!

I vote for the six weeks out and then a late-comer list. I'm willing to do more for the people who sign up earlier but can't imagine fitting in a ton of my "big" gift in the last 4 weeks. Like some of you, we're going to WDW the Tuesday prior to the cruise and I plan on shipping our FE items and some other cruise things.

If anyone is interested in the graphic for their signature, the link is:

CKCruisin - thanks for the graphic, and I got it to work! woo hoo for me!!

We will have the cutoff for the FE be 6 weeks out. Seems to be everyone likes the longer timeframe to get things created/purchased/shipped. Works for me!

The last day to join the first FE will be midnight (Eastern) on Friday, October 15.

If people sign up after that, I can help create the list and they can do another FE.

As of right now, we have 18 cabins.

The kids ages are from 1 - 16.

here is my quick tally (sorry, I'm heading out the door but wanted to respond)
