Maracas? Oy is right!

I received the same email this afternoon! Yep, happy dance here too!

Ok, so now the next pressing question is...do I exchange currency for pesos before we leave, or wing it with U.S. dollars in Cozumel and hope for the best?

Unless anything has changed, they would prefer US Dollars in Cozumel. We have never exchanged except for the time we spent a week in Cancun.

Actually, things HAVE changed. In an effort to fight money laundering and drug trafficking, you cannot use $$ for any purchase that is $100 or more. You have to use your Visa, or other credit card or check card. If you want to pay cash for items costing more than $100, you have to use pesos.

Hi everyone. I wanted to share the deal I found with you all. We have taken the Conch Train before when we have visited Key West when driving down from our home in central FL. We decided to do again this year, booking directly through Key West Attractions as there is an on/off again option so you are able to get on and off at various points throughout the tour such as the Southernmost Point. I just found a great deal I had to share!

DH and I just booked as we were able to book for $26.10 online ea (vs $32 through ship-and not on/off again option), and DD is FREE ($16 on ship)!!! All kids ride free from now through 12/22 as long as tickets are purchased online (on website it stated no need to add child quantity for this promotion). This would have cost our family of 3 $80 though DCL. I just bought our tickets online for $52.20, saving our fam $27.80. Between this and Boatswains booked on our own, I am feeling even happier! :woohoo:

OK, if the rest of the week is anything like today, I am going to need several drinks of the day to forget it! :headache: And I know tomorrow is going to be overtime that I don't really want at this point because I have too much to do at home! :faint:
What is wrong with people? Don't they know I have a trip to get ready for...:confused3

I am going to have to check my email for a cruise email too! See, I'm so dedicated that the first thing I did was come on DIS...before checking email! :lmao:

And I *SHOULD* get my cruise docs in snail mail....I hope I hope I hope!!!!:yay:

STILL no cruise docs? That's just plain mean! I also got my cruise email

And my day was the same as your, Steph. Tomorrow will be a late night for me as well (unpaid overtime which is even WORSE) and I will be right behind you in line for the drinks of the day. I seem to add more to my list of alcohol that we are going to pick up on the way to port as the days get more stressful. :rotfl:

Thanks Stephanie - I had noted that it was only $29 to purchase right at the trolley and kids ride for free anyway...maybe it was through 12/22 but it was for our dates, so no need for the details.

We are also planning on doing this on our own so we can get on/off (can't believe you can't do that with Disney, quite honestly). I feel comfortable doing Key West on our own, but the other 2 we are doing through Disney since it's our first time with port excursions at all.

I'm supposed to be logging in to work right now and I just do not want to! I'd rather chat with my DIS peeps and see what others are asking on the regular DCL board.

Only 1 more Monday to make it through! :cheer2:

So we have to get Pesos for anything we want to buy in Cozumel or can we use credit card even if under $100?

Thinking about those maraccas... :rotfl:

DH, DD, and I are putting up the Christmas tree tonight. Our downstairs bath has been converted to our snowman wonderland. We should be all decorated by this weekend. Thanksgiving week can be quite busy at WDW and DH and I are both working through Friday. Decided to get decorated this week so we can enjoy before and after the cruise. We have still managed to keep it a secret from DD. I am looking forward to seeing the ship and Castaway Cay all decorated! It's our 3rd straight year of a 7 night cruise in December...my favorite time of the year to be onboard!

I even managed to get to my parents house. We cleaned out the refrigerator and cupboards today and picked up a few of their Christmas decorations, including a 4 foot tree with all the ornaments my mom made each year since she and my dad were married...one per year dating back to 1970. Tomorrow I am running down to get their outside decorations which will now grace our yard. I have to mow the lawn first.

I am thankful I only work 1 day this week, but I am going to Sea World with DD 1st grade class on Thursday all day.

Off to hang ornaments...

Does anyone know where to buy this? I have been searching online and at stores and can't find it unless I pay a small fortune for it and the shipping. This is "required" for the dolphin excursion in Grand Cayman.

Do you think they will sell it at the excursion (probably just as pricey as online shipping at this point)....

Yes I remember reading that but I can't imagine buying anything over 100 bux so I knew it didn't apply to me.

Me three!! Although they are asking me for my flight info and yet they won't let me enter it! (Probably bcz it isn't around our cruise dates I'm guessing?)

And I have the same ? as Cindy on the pesos :confused3

Jenny - I am having the same problem - it won't accept the flight information. I keep getting an error message, incorrect flight number. I also think it has to do with our dates not lining up with the cruise dates.

Eeks - I guess I'll call the TA!:scared1:

I am so excited, at DW in 10 days, can't wait!

And this is our 3rd cruise, first ever 7 night cruise. Got engaged on Carnival Fantasy on first cruise, joined DVC w/ second cruise.

Who know what goodness will come w/ 3rd cruise?

Biggest decesion now is deciding what treatment for our spa villa? Any reccomendations? Thinking maybe a wrap as have never done one but the hot stone sounds devine.

Also, booked massage at CC so I kind of want to experience something different.

Have Palo that night too so should be a great couples day at sea.

I would go with the hot stone massage! I haven't had one but have heard wonderful reviews. I plan to book one in the spa. Although, I think I need one now. I feel just like the running around crazy guy!!!

I am so ready for drink of the day!!!

I'm with yall on the drink of the day!! Can't wait!!!

I haven't gotten my cruise docs yet either but I DID verify they have been mailed, so we will see!

I helped my mom put up Christmas decorations today. we have the tree up but its still naked :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the pesos info. :thumbsup2 I think I'll be good - we are doing a DCL excursion and probably won't be spending more than $100 at any given location.

DS will be SOOO excited to see it - he is very happy we are going to Mexico. Not sure why, he just has a thing about Mexico.

My son is the exact same way. From the beginning of planning, the only thing he definitely wanted to do was to be in Mexico. Who knows why.

The systems are going through an upgrade for another day. It will let you enter it if you try again at the end of the week.

Yeah, I don't get paid overtime either, but I do get comp time/ credit hours.....believe me, SO not worth it!!! If you get paid overtime, isn't it usually time and a half? C/t is one for one

I already did the same & purchased mine online...we even got a bit more off for the military discount. I am soooooo glad I did a bt of research!

Steph - at lest you get comp time for your extra hours. I get a big bowl of NOTHING. Barely a thank you at that. :sad2:

So, on the rare occassions where it's slow at work, I don't feel guilty when I take a long lunch....

In any event, I did log back in to work last night, so hopefully that makes my day a tiny bit easier.

For those of you that bought the tix online for the Trolley Tour, do you just print them or do you have them mailed or pick up? Debating on what to do, the discount is less than $3 for me and DH each, and Shirley (The Perfect Gift) is supposed to be putting in some coupons for Key West in our gift bag, so hoping that maybe there is something extra in there...

what to do, what to do?

Have a great Tuesday everyone...

It's an eticket that print out at home, no extra cost. I live near Orlando, and we have gone to Key West on a weekend trip before. We always pick up the coupons at the AAA rest stop and hotels. The best coupon I ever saw was 2nd day free or 10% off...same discount I got online.
