ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

I made a ADR for Biergarten a few days ago- that's probably the only ADR we're doing for this trip. We'll be paying for most of our food with Disney Visa reward points, so we want to stretch them as far as possible.

Was wondering what you think about having dinner at cape may and making it back to HS for fantasmic? I am hoping to be able to get a fastpass+ for the show which means I wouldn't have to wait in line as long (hopefully). If we do an early dinner say 5:30 or 6 do you think that gives enought time? Fantasmic is scheduled for 9pm. I'm not sure how long to plan for dinner as we have never eaten there before.

Suggestions Needed-please
Trip with my DD19- somewhat plainish eater (mostly chicken, pasta, some beef and pork).Trip coming up in May( ADR's later this week) We are going on the cruise the following week so we will have lots to choose from then as well. This is our first time back in two years. Last time on the cruise, they gave her the menu the day before to make sure that there was something she liked the next day or they would make something special for her ( so nothing too fancy). On the flip side, Boma dinner was our favorite last trip and a must due this time. We also had God awful experience at both Kona and Ohana ( Pink absolutely RAW chicken in both places). I followed up with the chain in command because it is defintely a health risk and client relations ( or whatever the department is called)- actually refunded me the cost of both meals after our trip).
So, I am in need of one more TS and I'm not sure what to choose. Our schedule is pretty flexible as we will be there for 9 days (10 nights) So far I have( in no particular order, LTT and B&C we will only use one at a time and share):

Boma -D
Tusker House- B ( not sure if I want to do a late meal/brunch or before RD)
Crystal Palace-B (before RD)
Via Napoli- L
Chefs De France-D
Mama Melrose- D (Fantasmic)
Yak & Yeti -D
Whispering Canyon Cafe-D
Liberty Tree-L (sharing so only 1/2 and app OPP)
Beaches and Cream-D (sharing so only 1/2 )- visit the Boardwalk in the evening

Last time we did:
Rose and Crown ( enjoyable and got preferred viewing for Illuminations but, they ran out of sticky toffee pudding -which we were extremely disappointed about)
Le Cellier (while lunch was still 1 credit)
Kona
Ohana
Boma
CP
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic but, didnt stay and this time is a must, it's been years since we've seen it and she doesnt remember it)

I won four one day park hoppers at an event last night!! yay! So, we are now planning a trip for the last week of May. I've never done WDW without a package, but I am ready to try. Any suggestions for best place to get 2 more days of tickets for four people and where we should stay? Thanks :)

Loving everyones ADR selections!

We did a few of our own yesterday seeing as yesterday was our 180 day mark. So far we've got Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, Be Our Guest and Fultons Crab House. We've only eaten at the first two before & I'm really looking forward to BOG. :goodvibes

We are driving from Long Island. leaving Thur. night and driving straight to Savannah.
this week I get make my dining reservations yippy:cheer2::cheer2:

Booked our ADRs this morning for our very first trip to WDW with DD5 and DS4! I really did not book any breakfasts because I was worried about the kids staying up late for fireworks, etc., and how they'll function in the morning but I am now debating about changing/adding a few ADRs. What do you think?

Day 1 - check in then to MK
3pm - Pirates League
Dinner at Chef Mickey's followed by Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise

Day 2 - HS
Lunch at Hollywood and Vine

Day 3 - AK
Debating about adding late breakfast at Tusker House? AK has EMH at 8am this day.
6:15pm Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

Day 4 - MK
8:05am Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at the castle :woohoo: So excited about getting this before park opening!!
1pm lunch at CRT

Day 5 - Epcot
Late lunch at Akershus - should I change this to breakfast? Not sure how much the kids will want to do at Epcot so I thought a late lunch might be good so we can get through most of what they are interested in during the morning when it is less crowded, do a late lunch then go swim at the resort and head to DTD that night.

Day 6 - last day, MK
Perfectly Princess Tea Party
BOG at 4pm

Just booked offsite for a phenomenal rate with mousesavers discount. 4 nights, including free buffet breakfast at Buena Vista suites for $389.

We will be arriving Tuesday, May 13 and departing on Saturday, May 17.

My name is Kate and I'm very taking my kids (2 and 6) on their first Disney vacation next May. It will actually be my DH's first time too, and I'm almost as excited for him :) My parents will be coming along as well. We will be staying at BLT, in a 2 bdr LV from May 6-12. I haven't been to Disney in 15 years, not since my 18th birthday (stayed at BC then, loved it), I am so excited to return!

I made my ADR's the other day...a little overwhelmed, but made me even more excited! How'd I do?

May 6- arrival- MK
May 7- 8:40 BBB for DD (earliest I could get, she said show up early to see if we can get in earlier...should I call to if there are cancellations? If so, when?) the 10:20 at CRT.
May 8- Epcot- 8:00 Cape May.
May 9- nada, we'll probably do MK again...anything I should add in here? I was considering Crystal Palace.
May 10- AK- Tuskerhouse 8:30
May 11: HS- Hollywood & Vine 12:10
May 12: Last Day :( - MK. Chef Mickey's 8:30 BOG 4:20

Any glaring errors or omissions?

Also, regarding my BLT reservation (booked through David's)... the only request I made was that it be a dedicated 2 bdr, rather than a lockoff. I would like to request the high floor, even #, north wing, but not sure if is too late, does that have to be done at booking or can I add a request at any time? And if I can still put in the request, who do I contact?

Thanks so much for any input. Looking forward to chatting with you all :wave2:

You will love BLT and being able to walk to MK!!! Just call David and have note the requests that you want.

Our family enjoys Ohana for breakfast because it is not a buffet so you can sit and enjoy your meal with the characters plus they do a parade with the kids. We made a tradition to get a 7:30 Ohana breakfast and then take the monorail over to MK for opening ceremony. It is a magical way to start your day.

Any thoughts on considering 1900 Park Fare?

That plan should work with a 5:30 dinner and taking the boat for HS to the Beach Club.

You have a great plan...I think it would be great to add a late Tusker House breakfast on your MK day. What time is your ADR for Akershaus? We have never done breakfast but always do the first lunch seating. Since World Showcase doesn't open until 11 am and you have to walk through Future World, I think lunch sounds reasonable. Believe it or not, my kids love Epcot. Nemo, Figment, Club Cool, Character greeting, Living with the Land are all must dos for us in Future World. Then it is usually time for our ADR at Akershaus then after that is time to meet more characters and start going to the Kidcot stops in World Showcase.

Just call David and have note the requests that you want.

A request for a dedicated room needs to be made by the DVC owner at time of booking.

Poly May 4-10. Decision made!!!

POLY!! Awesome!!! Added :thumbsup2

Just booked our trip today...First stay at Art of Animation next May..I'm a little nervous about going back down to a value after being at a moderate the last couple times; but the kids are super excited about it!!

Can't wait to be able to make my ADR's next week!!!

I was in the same boat last September; used to staying at AKL, but booked a suite at AOA bc there were 5 of us. I was pretty anxious beforehand, but it was all for naught, bc we all loved it! The grounds are beautiful, the nemo pool is incredible and huge, Landscape of Flavors was really good, our room was much more comfortable than we'd expected! It's great that even though it's a value, that the rooms are all interior (in suites, not in LM), and the bus stops are covered.

We are booked there again in May also. You'll love it!

I think I have mine pretty set for now ( until later, that is)..... We will be at the POP 5/14-5/24- it's myself, and my DD19-not sure what time we arrive ( no plane tickets yet) but since we're coming from Tucson, and with the time change , it's an all day thing. The 24th we're heading out on the Fantasy so I've only made plans for the 15-23rd. I've based it on projected crowd calendars and trying to avoid HS on the first SWW (because neither or us are interested). We are more (or should I say I, and I make my daughter follow- I will follow her planning when she pays for the trip) morning , early outters than late nighters. I have tried to coordinate on early mornings ( EMH and CP before RD) so they dont fall after our projected later nights. ADR day is Friday and this is what I have:
Thursday May 15th
EMH- MK
AM- MK- straight to Fantasyland-
10:30 BOG- QS (share)
1:45/2:00- GFC/Wave- Lunch
PM-HS

Friday May 16th
CP before RD
AM-MK
PM-EP
- Chefs 6:00

Saturday May 17th
EMH-AK
AM-AK-
TH 10:30
PM-DTD/Boardwalk
Beaches and Cream split

Sunday-May 18th
AM-??
Leaving lunch open in case we meet Florida family in DTD
PM-MK
Dessert Party
Evening EMH-MK

Monday- May 19th
AM- HS/Epcot/
PM-AK
Boma 6:00

Tuesday May 20th
EMH-EP
AM- Epcot
11:30 Via Napoli
PM??
Wednesday- May 21st
EMH-HS
AM-HS
Starring Rolls QS
PM-MK
WCC-6:30

Thursday –May 22nd
EMH-MK
AM-MK
LTT 11:00
PM-HS
MM-5:30 Fantasmic

Friday –May 23rd
QS-Capt Cooks
AM-MK
PM-AK
5:00 Yak and Yeti

My only concern, is figuring out an alternative plan if the CP prior to RD is not available for the 16th, I think I might have better luck with the reservation if I planned it out for later in the trip. However, since it's just the two of us, who knows. I still have to figure out our exact QS meals but we can fine tune that later on.

Any comments or suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks

Made our last ADR this morning!!!

We're just doing 3 sit-down meals, as we're only spending 5 days in Disney (visiting Tampa and then Universal Studios for the remaining 3 days of our trip)

Monday - May 12th -- Tusker House for breakfast - 8:40am

Getting really excited now!!!

175 days to go!!!!! :cool1:

Yay for May. We arrive on 5/20 and stay until 5/27. We have a one night stay at the Animation resort in a Little Mermaid Room and then the rest at AKL. We've wanted to stay at the AKL for so long and are finally doing it. Super excited about the trip.

And because I'm excited and need to flail somewhere about the trip and our plans, going to post our itinerary here. (Thank you for indulging me :))

Quick trip to DHS for Star Tours

Can't wait to be able to make my ADR's next week!!!

I was in the same boat as well. But we ended up getting a special discount so decided to stay in a moderate. Although my daughter wants to stay in AOA.
