ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

From what I have read on the POP thread, swimmies are allowed. There are life jackets available at the pool also, though.

Can't multi-quote, but someone asked about celebrating a birthday 2 months early. MIL and I will both be celebrating our bdays at WDW, and ours were in July.

Life jackets available to buy?

Soooooooooooo excited for August!!!!!!

2 weeks and counting.

We are celebrating DD3's actual 4th birthday with a 9am haircut and pixie dust at the barber shop and 10am CRT on 8/18

Celebrating DD11 12th birthday (which is really 9/5) at BOG dinner on 8/22

I was able to make a reservation for lunch at BOG! My dad and I both knew what we wanted so I was able to do the advance ordering. We're already eating there for dinner once but the lunch food is different so I thought it'd be fun to try this Fastpass+ thing. I'm excited! :goodvibes

It looks like a bunch of August BOG dinner reservations are opening up! Seems to be more in the first two weeks or so. Still hoping for Aug 21st!

Gonna start packing tonight so hopefully we can get to bed at a decent time on friday! Mostly I'm just posting this so I can see my ticker!!:cool1:

Got my travel vault and Frogg Toggs in the mail today...:cool1: we will be in Disney in three weeks.

Unfortunately I wet one of the Frogg Toggs and was wearing it for about 3 minutes and my neck started itching like crazy. I put cortisone on and at least it isn't as red, still a bit itchy though....at least I didn't wait until Disney to try them out. Now I am trying to decide if I should even keep them for the rest of my family...at the very least I feel like I should have everyone try them out. I did read of other people having reactions, so I guess it isn't too uncommon. Very weird:confused3

I have a question... I don't want to ask this on the main boards because I'm afraid I'll get flames. dd and ds will celebrate their 16th Birthday in October. Would it be out of line to "celebrate" that birthday at BOG? or even throughout our trip? We couldn't possibly go around their birthday because of school (they are high school juniors and our district has attendance requirements for high school credits.) Any thoughts??

I turned 40 9/1/12. This trip is a celebration of that birthday. Sure I am almost 41, but we are celebrating my "40th year" in Disney.

Anyone checking into or staying at AKL on the 2nd and 3rd of August should keep an eye out for George Kalogridis, Meg Crofton and other Disney execs! They're going to be greeting guests and overseeing the start of the MyMagic+ guest test.

oh wow! I had no idea people were having reactions! Now I'm afraid to bring mine since we leave in 3 days and my kids have sensitive skin. Hmmm....something to think about.

It made me realize we need to try ours out, also.

Did you wash it first? I think they're packed in some sort of liquid and need to be washed before using.

I washed mine with regular laundry detergent in the washing machine on gentle and didn't have any problems.

Absolutely!! We are celebrating my son's birthday at O'Hana when we're there later this month, but his birthday is today. I've read posts about people celebrating months before and after their special day. Go for it!

When I booked, the lady asked me specifically if we were celebrating anything. I explained that our 20th anniversary was in September, one daughters bday was at the end of August, the others early October and DH's right before the anniversary but none actually occurred while we were in WDW. She said that doesn't matter, all perfect reasons to celebrate. We will see what happens.

Breakfast at The Wave this morning and Kona for dinner. Otherwise, just pool time and relaxation. I think DH and DS may hit MK again though...maybe I can convince them to let DD and me tag along for a bit after breakfast? :-)
