It's hard not to take these things personally or as a "sign" when you are close to traveling, but when you think about it, these types of things do happen all the time and they have nothing to do with you. Or the hundreds of people you know. Or the thousands in your town. Or the millions who visit WDW each year. Along with your husband, millions of other people went on that ride too...surely it's not a sign for everyone!
It's easy to get yourself in a panic, but try to talk about your fears - it will help. We were leaving London last night, and of course I had ignored news all week and then caught a glimpse of the SW flight at LaGuardia and the train wreck in Spain (not sure if that made news here), and got that little knot in my stomach. Then we taxied out right on time, and waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes later they brought us back to the gate to "re-fuel" Um,. Next thing there were those guys with the yellow jackets and walkie talkies going up and down the aisles of the plane. Then a truck pulled up and eventually removed a red suitcase. They wheeled it away from the plane, we finished "re-fueling" and then almost two hours later, we taxied back out. Yes, I was beginning to panic. I could have let it build...instead I turned to DW, who reminded me the delay was to ensure our safety, not hinder it, and she was able to totally calm me down. So find someone who does't buy into this nonsense - whether it's your DH or a friend, and when they start in, let that person (or us!) talk you off that ledge!
30 days to go for me.
I don't arrive until August 25th and leave the 31st.
We check in at CBR on the 24th but we are arriving in Orlando on the 15th! And lucky me gets to go and see Paul McCartney on the 14th and we have a 6 am flight! We however only live about 5 minutes from the airport so we can leave home around 4am! Oh well at least we get into Orlando around 3 so have the rest of the afternoon to settle in and have a look around.
I recommend Camelbak water bottles. They have both filter and non-filter versions of the water bottles, and they keep your water cold for much longer than any other bottle I've ever owned.
Anyone here own a Fitbit? I just got a Flex, and I really love it so far. I'm excited to see just how many steps I'm taking each day, especially when we get to Disney, since we do so much walking there. It's also surprisingly comfortable to wear and waterproof, so you never have to take it off except to charge it every 5 days or so, and it measures your sleep too.

I have a FitBit but it doesn't charge or measure your sleep. I wonder how much walking Ill do while I'm there?![]()
Question - my sister wants to check in for the plane ahead of time, but we will still have to check bags. Does it really save time then?
We saw Sir Paul back in May. Best. concert. EVER!
anjalee6 said:It just saves time really by having your boarding passes already printed do you don't have to do it at the counter or kiosk. You just give your bags to the counter when you get to the airport. With little kids anytime I can skate is helpful.
Us too! So hard for us to see everyone now in the single digits!![]()
Hi guys! Back home from a fantastic week away and my to do list has grown exponentially! We walked an average of 8 miles a day in London and I am rethinking shoes and bags for everyone lol.
As for the above, I'm secretly dreaming of Aug 2014....we have a lot of other plans and DS17 will be heading off to college, but I'm in for keeping up with the group and seeing what happens!
Now I need to actually go catch up with both this thread and the fb group to see what you guys have been up to!
One quick question, and I apologize if its been discussed, for those of you who have received them, are the MBs comfy?
