ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

We have ohana reservations one night to watch wishes from there, but I don't feel like I'd be ending my trip right if I didn't end it with wishes. Sigh.

How about lunch at BoG? Seriously though, keep stalking dinner!!! I know someone will cancel and you will get an earlier ADR! I would be the same way though, I would have to see Wishes my last night!

Yes!!! These are a great way to spend the time waiting to go!!!

We're at 44 days too!!!

My sister saved our trip! My dh insisted that the balance for our trip would automatically go on the card we gave for the deposit. It doesn't. Thankfully my sister/ wdw travel agent/ vacay partner said to double check. We are now 44 days out! Whohoooo!!! Thanks Jen! Xoxo

I also need American money and the exchange rate is horrible! We leave August 15, staying till the 22nd at CBR!

I shared this on the FB page, but it was so awesome, I had to share it here too!

A friend of mine took her dd, age 4, to Disney World for the first time in June. The day of their flight we had storms in DFW and their flight was delayed. They ended up being the last flight in, but still managed to get there for ME, but only part of their luggage made it. My friend's suitcase, that had her dd's princess gowns in it, did not make it. She was up all night calling the concierge, apologizing to them that she kept calling. She finally explained to them that she needed that suitcase as they had Akershus breakfast ADRs, and her dd needed her princess gear! Lo and behold, the next morning at 6 am, a cast member knocked on their door with two boxes, a balloon, and a card. Inside the boxes were a Belle dress, a tiara, and gloves. The card was signed to her daughter from Belle!! So amazing. I teared up when she was telling me today.

That is SO AMAZING!! I started to tear up reading it!! Thank you so much for sharing that story!!

Welcome! I see you found the thread!!!

I'm hoping our dollar picks up a bit before we exchange! The rate sucks right now!

Yep. When I made my $600 payment it cost me an additional $44.00 dollars:headache:
I still have $1100 to pay on my due date, and then about $1800 to exchange after that. I've pretty much accepted that I am going to take a hit. It makes me want to pay for all of my December trip stuff in case it gets worse, but then again it might get better so I guess I will watch for a bit.
I'm spoiled by our last two trips where our dollar was worth more than the U.S. by a little bit. Sigh.

Ms. Sutton, Scotiabanks chief currency strategist, and her colleague Mr. Theoret, forecast that the loonie will slip to 94 cents in the fourth quarter, though pick up again to end next year at 99 cents.

Good Morning Everyone!!! To all my US buddies, HAPPY JULY 4TH!!! :jumping1: And to my Canadian and other buddies, have a wonderful day!! One day closer to Disney!!!!

It just cost us an extra $200 to pay off our August trip. Not so bad really, but I need to get money from the bank and pay for my October trip and my December trip..... Oh well!!!! I can't wait to go!!!!:dance3:

Me too! And really... if I need to tweak the budget a bit to absorb the extra cost I can. I have one extra TS planned that really isn't necessary. And my rental car cost is lower than I budgeted. It all works out in the end.
And it looks like December won't be too bad according to that article.

Yikes! that's just sad! :( I did pay off majority of our trip before it dipped too low and only took a hit at the very end. We're paid in full now and I do have a tiny bit of American money here but I'm starting to think I should have a US money account set up at my bank! :confused3

Here's to hoping it doesn't dip lower! :mickeybar

We don't have kids but my boyfriend has been really into lion king lately. He's been walking around the house, lifting our dog in the air and singing "the circle of life" a lot.

OMG, that's so funny!!! When I can't find a signal on my cell and have to hold it up in the air, I always say "I'm going all Lion King on my phone" LOL

Gotta love Disney fans!!!

My dd did this with our cat all the time:rotfl2:

We set up a US account at our bank two years ago. We opened it with $200. Our intention was to buy American money when the Canadian dollar was high.

Well, you know what they say about good intentions.....Now our account is sitting there with, yup, you guessed it... $200 in it, and I bet I'll have to pay a service charge to take it out! :rotfl:

My dad and I are struggling with this right now. We haven't paid any of our trip off except for the $200 deposit and we're running out of time. We've kind of accepted it's gonna be more pricey than originally thought, but it's frustrating.
