QOTD: With only about a month to go for us, give or take, what is on your Disney to do list?

but I wanted to do Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage so I have to see if there is still space available for that!

The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage was amazing! We aren't doing it this year, but my boys loved it a few years ago!

I need to:

Finalize my ADRs (which incidentally have gotten out of control in the past day or so...I keep adding and changing my mind!!)

This is so me!!! haha

I don't really have much to do...just survive the next 45 days! LOL DH gave in to leaving a day earlier so I booked a hotel for our drive down. I have to have my oil changed right before we go....

I prob won't start to pack until about 2 weeks before but I have a tote that I am throwing things into that I don't want to forget!

I've got to do online checkin. I've also got to get a bathing suit coverup, which is shockingly difficult to find for some reason. I just want something I can throw over my bathing suit to go to the pool, but I can't find something that fits the bill. I also need to arrange with my dad who is bringing what into the park so I can decide what bag to bring. Hopefully I can convince him to carry my rain jacket for me so that I can bring my favourite camera bag that doesn't have a ton of room for extras.

I found really cute ones at target. They are like little dresses so you just throw it on

It was so funny, I almost thought he wasn't in Monsters University but at the very end they threw him in.

I went to Disney many times before I ever tried a Dole Whip, I just couldn't understand how it could be so great. We were actually in DL as part of DD's Make a Wish trip and when our tour guide found out we had never tried it she insisted and with one try we were all hooked! It really is good!

Another ditto from me on this. I've never seen the original so I've been really looking forward to it so I really hope it will be open!

I'm just slowly working on packing lists for each of my kids... I think that's all I have. I considered making t-shirts but I don't think I have the extra funds to buy the transfers.

My SIL used to make us t-shirts for every trip. If you have a color printer, buying the transfer paper and the t-shirts can be really cheap!

I love John Ratzenburger! I especially love the short (at the end of the one of the Cars movies) where they made all the Pixar films Cars films and he says, hey they use the same voice all the time and makes fun of it. I have always found it to be fun to search out his character in the Pixar films.

That short cracked me up!

QOTD: With only about a month to go for us, give or take, what is on your Disney to do list?

I need to do autograph books still for my kids! Last year I made scrapbooked ones, but started them six months in advance. I'm tempted to just buy a book there, but I think I will use some DISigns and have it bound at an office supply store? I finally checked off ordering my PhotoPass+, but I wanted to do Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage so I have to see if there is still space available for that! I also need to sort out what exactly I'm putting in the kids welcome gifts and a welcome letter. Oh, and I have to find a kennel for the dogs! The questions is, will it all get done?????

I don't have too much to do. I'm not going to do the online check in but all of my requests have been put in. We still have to get our park tickets (DH gets a discount through work but we've been without Internet for the past week. It's getting fixed now so hopefully we can get them tonight!). All of our ADRs have been booked. I have to figure out who is going to take care of our cat while we are gone. My mom will watch her on the weekend (she calls it her "vacation" when we are away lol) but I have to ask my in-laws to feed her during the week since my mom lives a half hour away. It's too much for her to come up everyday during the week.

The week before, I do a full apartment cleaning. I clean everything from floor to ceiling. Part of it is because my mom is a clean freak and I don't want her to give in to her urges to clean and the other part is because I like coming home to a clean home.

I need to buy some more undergarments lol. I feel like I bring so many down there but then run out before the trip is over because of the sweat, heat, rain, etc. So I need to find myself a Victoria's Secret coupon lol. You are all welcome for the TMI lol.

And then, finally, I have to pack. I do the packing for me and DH because if he packs, he'll wind up with 26 pairs of socks and no underwear lol. Plus, I enjoy packing for some strange reason lol. I have all of our plans in my head so its easier for me to go through day by day while DH looks at his dresser like "Where do I even start?" lol. I won't start packing until about a week before though. Maybe 2 weeks since we have a lot going on up until we leave (family party in Long Island the weekend before and I'm going to the backstreet boys concert the night before we leave lol. That's going to be great waking up the next morning after that lol. But it'll be ok since we'll be on our way to Disney!)

I need to get our autograph books printed and bound, make our tie dye mickey shirts, make the kids welcome banner, buy another lifetime supply of SPF 100, set up the shuttle from parking, rent the stroller, order from Garden Grocer, and try not to panic.

We have to get a few more little travel items and some snacks and drinks for the car, since we are driving. I have to make my DD Monsters University shirt. I have to get our window designs made.

We've started walking every night to get our legs ready for the parks, also, breaking in out new shoes while we walk.

We won't begin packing until 2 weeks before, but I have most of our items in a tote for easy packing.

Trying not to stress out to much as well.

We've got to figure out what clothes we will buy for this trip, if any. I'm thinking we may pick up one or two of the Columbia Omni Freeze shirts that get cooler as you sweat, because Lord knows we'll be sweating!

We want to get new swimsuits for the kids. They are rapidly outgrowing their current ones and I want to get the ones with the swim shirt to help minimize sunburn.

Shoes for the kids are another thing to get. Still debating on Crocs or Vibram FiveFingers for them. DD1 really wants FiveFingers like her mom.

Backpacks for the kids and markers to do autographs. Someone on the facebook group did this on a previous trip. They had the characters sign their backpack with an oil or paint marker instead of an autograph book. Then the kids used the backpack for school that year.

Still need to decide if we're going to order water or just pay for it/use drinking fountains/etc. Ditto for food. We're not typically a family to go back to the resort for breaks but we had planned on it during this trip. We'll have to see how it plays out.

We have to shop for school supplies because on our return we have Meet the Teacher night where the supplies get dropped off at the school.

Some of this, like the clothes and shoes purchases/decisions, will have to wait until the kids return from their summer vacation as well.

Otherwise that's it.

My wife got some nice coverup dresses from nomorerack.com. 4 of them for $26 if I remember correctly. She's used them for swim coverups as well as just a regular summer dress.

I think we're in hurry up and wait mode right now. The last thing I needed to take care of was airport parking. Yesterday, I found a price I liked and reserved it. So not much going on right now. Once we get down to about 10 days we'll be in full on travel mode. That's when I'll start packing and order some breakfast stuff from soap.com, etc.

Hmmm. Not much really. I am planning two trips right now so I am waiting for the Fort Wilderness Carriage rides to open up for Christmas.

I guess there is quite a bit left. I'll need to pull out the trusty packing list. This is our 9th or 10th trip, and the 5th in August, so I have a list saved that covers everything.
I won't be buying anything new I don't think. We have new summer clothes, and don't really need anything. Maybe some of those frog tog things.
Right now is just about working and setting aside the spending money. Thats about it

Oh.. I do need a new battery charger for my brand new camera. I think I left it in Disney in February. It's expensive to replace though

Thinking about adding Yak and Yeti for lunch on our last day. Have never been to AK and heard there isn't as much to do with LO's so thought it would be a good last day park to end early since we drive home the next day to CT. There is an 11:00 or 2:00. Thoughts?

I should ad that I wasn't planning an ADR at all this day LOL.

I still need to buy hats for myself and my mom. We both have very thin hair and our scalps burn if we don't have hats on. I was initially sold on Coolibar hat with a large brim, but now I am not so sure. I have been looking at Columbia-type baseball hats and hats that runners wear. Still haven't really found what I want.

Other than that, need to pack and I'm STILL trying to get an earlier BOG ADR. We have one at 9:30, but if we can get it earlier, we would love that. Other than that, I think we're pretty well ready!! We leave in 27 days!!!
