I just about did online check in last night but just don't know which would be safer to do for connecting rooms. They certainly are there in the reservation and I understand they trump any other request I would make so maybe it doesn't make a difference. I was thinking if I requested buildings that where a little away from the bridge like Aruba 52 and Jamaica 42, or maybe really radical and Barabdos 15, I might get both the connecting rooms and a building I want. Mostly I'm trying to get one that wouldn't put us looking out over the parking lot as I'm only getting a standard view. We are walkers so we don't mind that part of it. Barabdos 15 doesn't look like it would be a whole lot longer a walk to the main pool then either the Aruba or Jamaica ones just around the end of the lake rather then over it. So what should I do check in now or wait till I get there? If do online and I get there and they haven't given us connecting rooms how hard is it to see if it to try to get it changed? If we didn't get connecting rooms it would be more difficult for us but certainly not the end of the world, though the kids were looking forward to having a bed to themselves and not sharing with one of their sisters. Of course DH and I would have to split up as I understand even though our oldest will be 16 she can't stay in a room with her sister as there has to be someone 18 years in it....how do all these dance/cheer/sports group manage to do this? Oh well any advice on this would be helpful!![]()
This is my take. Online check-in saves a step. The resort will have the info they need already on file and be able to have your packet ready when you arrive. For every CM that says online check-in messes with your requests, there is another who says it does not. There are guests who do online check-in and get their request. There are guests who do not do online check-in and still do not get their request.
A request is a request is a request. Like you said it's noted on your reservation and since you are breaking up a family unit into 2 rooms they will do their best to honor your particular request.
Worst case scenario... you do online check-in and when you get there the rooms are not connecting. All you need to do is say we really need to have connecting rooms. If there is something available, we would be willing to wait. They will look and may quite possibly find something.
If you don't care where you are in CBR, I would not make any further requests. If connecting rooms is your priority, I would leave the building/floor options wide open. I would do online check-in and NOT check the box that says we would like our room to be ready as a priority over having our requests met. That's how I see it. Others may disagree.
