ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

We are at 57 days today. Most days I am excited as can be. Today, I am more stressed than anything. It is our first time there and I don't want to overlook something I should be planning. I also am second guessing everything that I have planned, because, we haven't been there, so are the things I am planning the "right" things for us? So, the closer I get, the more stressed I am becoming. Trying to relax, but it isn't easy.

You'll have an awesome time!! It's Disney! :-)

Well 60 days till Disney and 51 till Universal!:cool1:
Can't make up my mind about doing online check in as we want conecting rooms and I'm not sure which will give me a better chance. As we are staying at CBR and the last week of August I hope we have a great chance of getthing this since its such a big resort and it's the beginning of Value Season. I would like to be near the main pool but we don't mind walking and really is the longest we have to go is 10 minutes that really not a long walk. Oh well will keeping mulling it over. What do others think is it better to do online check in or just wait till we get there and do it?

Shannon it's going be magical!! Don't second guess anything!! Besides, if you miss something it's just another reason to go back!! Besides, you'll be meeting ME!!! :lmao:

37 days to go!!! It cannot come soon enough. Funny story...only my son (17) can go to theater camp and I get a phone call today that he twisted his ankle, fell, and was bleeding pretty badly- might need stitches...LONG story short, he is ok. He has a sprained ankle and had a puncture wound from falling on something, thus the blood (but didn't need stitches) and all I could think of is that he had better not broken his ankle, as I was not going to push him around in a wheelchair at Disney!!

He got a lead in the summer musical production, (of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying)too, but his part is not dance heavy, thank god. So, I'm going to officially wrap my clumsy kid in a bubble....I would LOVE to blame it on DH, but he totally takes after me:thumbsup2

Yes. He wants the infection gone before he takes it out. So I pick up an antibiotic after 5 (they called it in). The appointment to take it out is next Wednesday morning. I should be good after about 48 hours of the antibiotic though:). Thank you for the hug.

Have fun on your mini-getaway!! We expect a mini trip report :goodvibes

Looks like we'll be going to the cottage for the Civic Holiday long weekend. :)

Well, I am happy that you will not have to suffer too long with that pesky tooth. There is nothing (except for labour and delivery) that is more painful than a toothache. They can be absolutely horrible!

I am looking forward to just "getting away". Suffice it to say that it will be crazy busy (unlike your peaceful cottage oasis!) but it will be fun nonetheless. Just nice to get a break from the office for a while :rolleyes1 .

I wish all the Team August Canucks some wonderful weather for the long weekend!! Sure has been crazy unsettled with all these little rainshowers and thunderstorms popping up every day. But considering what's been happening in Alberta, I definitely won't complain......at least we haven't had to water the garden in a few weeks  .

And all this humidity is getting me all practiced up for Florida in August!!!

Thanks. I wil try to relax. I am excited about the Dismeet!!

I will try to remember that so I don't go crazy. Thanks.
It's actually 40, don't know how I didn't realize it was Wednesday and not Tuesday. With the kids home from school, my days are all messed up!!!

I am the opposite. I have been thinking it should be Thursday today. Feels like a Thursday.

I haven't decided about online check in either. Curious to see what others say.

Great for him on getting a lead. Now I am worried. Just signed my daughter, Marissa, up for tap this summer, because the Spring musical for next year is supposed to have some tap numbers. But, if anyone could get hurt in tap class, it would be her. The only reason I signed her up (with her permission) is because I met a friend of hers from drama at the dance studio last night (was there with Chelsea) and she was taking tap to improve her chances in the musical. She was the only teen in the class and the other kids were 5 and 7, so she looked like she could use a friend in that class. Hopefully she doesn't end up at WDW on crutches.

The good thing for my son is that the part he got is JB Bigley, who is the CEO of the company, and is an older gentleman- we told him at least a cane wouldn't look out of place if he ended up needing one!! But I can see why you are worried...my DS has the grace of 6 elephants!! Here's a little :wizard: and positive thoughts that your daughter comes out unscathed!!

The pre trip jitters are perfectly understandable for your first trip!! You know what? I can pretty much guarantee you that you will have fun.. at least most of the time. Sure maybe a few things won't be your cup of tea, but the place is pretty much non-stop fun and magic everywhere you go. I dare you to not find something you love!;)

We haven't had much rain these past few days. I am almost hoping for some this weekend to water my lawn, but I'll hold off the rain dancing until your mini vacay is over:rotfl:
Holy Moly what a difference painkillers make. A few hours ago I could have cared less about the trip or anything to do with it. Now they are working and I am booking rental cars and getting all excited again:rolleyes1
You are right Gina, my top three pain experiences..
Labour, Gallbladder attack, and toothaches. Luckily this one will be knocked out soon. I can't believe my husband had trouble last month and here I am with an infected wisdom tooth. I swear we don't sit around eating Pixie Sticks or anything:rotfl:. Just poor timing. But if I am honest, I knew this one had to come out for a long time, but it was a wisdom tooth and wasn't bugging me so I ignored it. It's my own fault!

Stupid me while pregnant I had read you can't go to the dentist 'cause they can't do exrays and can't use the novicane etc...well I had a tooth rot out'a my head and had to have it pulled. OMG I was in Sooooo much pain and cry'n like a baby as the mean dentist berated me and attempted to save it before sending me to a specialist who just yanked the s---er outta my head. Much more pain than my labor and delivery I can assure you. (and I delivered at home sans meds!)

:scared:

Oh my god. No novocaine? I would die.

I'm down to 57 days until we arrive. And at this point there is so much that needs to be done I am not in the least concerned with the trip. It is all paid off.

The only two things I need to actually do for the trip is plan a surprise for my anniversary... Possibly using Disney florist for an in room celebration?

And placing my order with Garden Grocer

How far out do you have to put your orders in with the Garden Grocer? I want to get two orders, one for Universal and one for Disney but wasn't planning on placing them for a while.

A heads up to anyone who will be there over Labor Day weekend. A touring plan is a must! I just checked the crowd calendar for that weekend and it's supposed to be a 9 on the Sunday and an 8 on the Monday.
Last weekend MK was VERY busy on the Sunday and this year should be even busier. I know we hear all the time how wonderful Labor Day weekend is. It USED TO BE. It's gotten steadily busier every year, and if you are in the MK on Sunday it's going to be a madhouse. Especially in light of the Fantasyland Expansion.
It's not impossible, but it is busy that weekend and I think you need to pick your park carefully, plan your day, and be there early.

Just a bit of advice because it's better to have a plan than no plan in that heat.:) If you get there and don't need it, I will happily be wrong. But a 9 is a busy busy day, so you might as well be prepared.:)

I think all of our days are 8's while we're there...(first week of August)

QOTD Calling Everybody! -lurkers too- Check in with your days left and excitement level :dance3: or :sad2:

Today marks 44 till we leave and 46 until we arrive. Just made our payment and loved seeing a $0.00 balance due--woohoo!

When we went in 2010 it was dead that week/weekend. It was great although the temps were higher than expected in the mid to upper 90's all week long. I'm looking forward to crowds lower than what we had at Thanksgiving.

Just ordered our PP+ card. By the looks of things I think we'll have all of our tip money on our Disney Rewards Dollars. Need to get some of those cooling towel things too...:scratchin

47 days!

I try to play it cool when someone asks when my vacation is and I even pretend not to know exactly the number of days until my trip. Inside I am so freaking excited that I can barely function.

I did online check in and asked for early check in to take precedence over room choice (70s area of POP). We will have our car and we have nothing to compare this trip to so I don't care whee we end up .

Now- is it worth opening the Disney Visa???? I think I saw $200 credit to use in the resort? I don't like having lots of credit cards so I would cancel our MC..... We don't have reward cards......we have cards that pay you a percent of what you spend back.
