I love your name! It was on our short list of names if we had a girl. Hubby had some issues with the meaning though, but we both really like the name! But my "real life" name is Gretchen so clearly my parents liked the German names too!
My Dad was on the Rhein River in Germany when he heard the legend and decided on the name, long before I was born.

I love your name!! Yeah, my name is ANN. There's really only one way to pronounce it so I don't think anyone would get that incorrect. :lmao:
That's sooo funny, my middle name is Ann! It's a great name and doesn't need an "e" at all! ;)

Good morning! :-)

The kids don't know we're going yet! We want it to be a surprise this time around! :-)

Welcome! :welcome:

We surprised our kids last year. It was awesome but hard. My wife and I wanted to talk about different plans so badly but couldn't around the kids. We held off until the end though and then surprised them with a loaded car packed with stuff for Disney!

If/when I meet up with anyone in Disney I would like to take this moment to say my name is "LOR-ell-eye." My username is my name. As we have all been internet friends for months now I thought I would clear this up before you think you are meeting "Laura-LEE." I appreciate your patience through this German phonics lesson.

Every time I see your posts I picture you as the cool mom from Gilmore Girls :rotfl:

When I see your name, I think of the Styx song! I guess they taught me how to pronounce it before I knew how to spell it!! :goodvibes

I never saw that show, but I love the actress who played that part.

I have had sooo many people sing me that song! And the one by The Pogues as well.

That's what I think of too!
When people say that I always say I had the name first. LOL

Going to be 88 and humid here this afternoon. Will walk to pickup DD1 from school this afternoon. She keeps asking why we have to walk to and from school now that the weather is warm. I tell her that it's good for our health plus it gets us ready for all the walking we're going to do at Disney. She swears she isn't going to want the stroller this time (she'll be nearly 8) so she'll have to have the walking shoes ready to go.

Found a neat thing that the wife and I are hoping to invest in for our trip in August. We were at Dick's Sporting Goods at the mall on Saturday and they were demonstrating the new Columbia Omni-Freeze shirts. These shirts have a blend of fabric that wicks away moisture (sweat) and lowers the temperature of the shirt at the same time. They gave us some tester sleeves to try out and we went for a walk with one on an arm and the other uncovered. The exposed arm was significantly warmer than the other. The downside to these is that they are expensive, about $40-50 per shirt, but for living in Texas and walking around Disney this August and next June they are probably worth it.

My DS was 5, almost 6 last year when we went. DD was 1 so she got the stroller. It was almost a constant whine from DS about walking so much and that his feet hurt, etc. Not sure how this trip will go...he's just too big for a stroller though really...

Ok, so here are my ADRs. They are all dinners, minus the last day, which is a breakfast.

8/12 Biergarten 5pm

8/13 Liberty Tree Tavern 5:25pm

8/14 Rose and Crown 5:35pm

8/15 Sanaa 5:25pm

8/16 Kona 9am

Now, for lunches, we'll be doing CS meals. On 8/15 we are going to DHS and hitting Pizza Planet for lunch for sure.

I would like to go to BOG on 8/13 but I'm not sure on what the wait will be like by then, and don't really want to subject my kids to a 30+ minute wait for lunch. We don't have hopper passes, so the places we're eating dinner at is where we'll be for the day. What CS meals do you guys highly recommend. Keep in mind we're a family of 5 with an almost 2 year old (who will have his own food).

I'm open to anything...so no holding back!

Last November we brought 1 stroller because we didn't think that DD1 would want or need it. No sooner did we get to the park when she started whining about not having one. We were shocked because she is 7 and a) is really too big and b) she had been saying that strollers were for babies. Her sister just turned 4 so we brought it for her and she didn't want it except when her sister was in it. After the first day we came up with a rule that we would flip a coin in the morning to see who rode first and then they would trade off at stops. We also avoided some of the arguing by parking the stroller at the stroller parking and then just having everyone walk.

This year we'll bring the same stroller for DD2 since she won't quite be 5 yet. She has a ton of energy so she may not need it but we're bringing it just in case. It'll be a week or so before DD1's 8th birthday so she definitely won't be in it.

DD will be 2 this time around so definitely gets the stroller again. I'm hoping with less running around and being rushed, that maybe it'll be ok for DS to NOT have one. Also hoping that maybe if he doesn't know we're going to Disney ahead of time that he'll be a bit more appreciative this time around. He LOVES Disney and always talks about going back, but last year when we were there, he seemed to complain more than anything else.

We like Columbia Harbour House and Pecos Bill's for CS at MK. Haven't done any CS at Epcot that I can think of recently except for the Yorkshire Fish Shoppe which had awesome fish. :-)
