Can I join you guys?

Just booked a couple days ago, although we booked airfare a few weeks ago to lock in a good price. We're travelling Sept 6-20, and staying at BCV from the 6-14, then AKL Kidani villas from the 14-20. This will be my 4th trip. We originally went in Sept 2011, then Dec 2012, then an adult-only trip last Aug. We're so excited to be going back for September, out of all our trips it's been my favourite month to go so far! Our kids don't know yet, we told them we wouldn't be able to afford to go this year. We were going to surprise them, but I think half the fun is the planning and I know they agree, so we're going to surprise them next month so they have time to help me with ADR's before our ressie date comes up in March.

I CAN'T WAIT!!! We normally go for 10 days, so I'm super excited to go for 2 whole weeks! Plus we're flying direct this time, so that should make our travel days much better. We stayed at SSR with the kids on our first two trips, then my hubby and I stayed at Beach Club last time. The kids have been begging to go to Beach Club as they want to go to Stormalong Bay, so they'll be super pumped when they hear that not only are we going there for 9 days, we're also going to try AKL for 6 days too. (My daughter is a huge animal lover!)

We'll also be hitting up MNSSHP. We did it on our first trip, and it's still our favourite day we've ever spent at WDW. SOOO much fun!

We booked BB when we were there in Sept '13 for us to go Sept 13-21 at CBR. I am second guessing my resort choice. But one of my Disney Goals is to stay at least one time in each resort.

I am anxiously awaiting the park hours to be released so that I can start planning a bit. Not sure how to feel about FP+. When we were there in Sept it was still on a trial basis so we could use both systems. Which worked great! I just have to wrap my mind around this new way and see if it works for us :)

At least the park hours should be released in the next week or so! Which just means all of our trips are approaching. Before you know it, it will be time to make ADR's

Welcome!! Just out of curiosity what airline did you book with for September?

Thank goodness! I'm so excited to really dog into planning. All of our recent trips were planned two months before so I didn't get to so much with ADRs or major planning. This will be much different this time!

Welcome!! Just out of curiosity what airline did you book with for September?

Westjet. United is the cheapest out of Alberta but it makes for a long travel day with a layover. Westjet is the only direct flight out of AB so we splurged a little for this trip! :cloud9:

Ms. Mary - congrats on the August baby!!! More exciting than Disney even :)

Is anyone else overwhelmed by trip planning? And not in a bad way - just more of a ....oh my GOSH there is so much out there I don't know where to start - kind of way. Ok after planning a place to stay and dates you are going - what do you plan next?

I have been looking at my Disney for Dummies book and have some restaurants on my "to do" list. Some rides too, though my son isn't overly adventurous nor tall.

I know that we have five day park tickets and that we will be going to MNSSHP. I imagine we won't use a pass that day since it's kind of its own pass right?

I know I want to try to get an ADR to Tusker house. I just don't have a clue how to decide what day. I guess since I can only do 180 not 180 plus 10 I will just keep trying and see what I can get?

We usually start with a basic idea of what days we want to go where. I build this initial itinerary based on various crowd calendars and general knowledge about what parks to hit / avoid in different days...also my initial thoughts are based on our kids / family preferences (we always see wishes on our first day while eating hot dogs @ Casey's... It's just what we do & we always end our trip with a character bfast at a resort followed by a trip to DTD & the Lego store) & park hours for each day.

We always have gotten park hopper so we could do what we wanted on any given day if we decided to change our mind at the last minute... The park du jour used to be very flexible but with FP+ really having to lock in on our park for the day...worried about that bc my kids are very used to going here there & yonder as we wished...

Anyhow, I generally like to have a preferred idea of each day where we want to go & a back up ... If we can't get our ADR or whatever I have an idea of a second choice park or a second choice ADR. Once you get ADRs set it is generally easier to plan, IMO. As far as the rides go that is the most difficult for us. Our boys are 2 & 6. What they like is very different every trip and so we have TP on our phones and the "not a TP plan" in our backpack which we use to guide us along, but we go during relatively slower times & have never had to use commando touring tactics to have a good trip and ride all the rides we want...

Just to let those of us that are waiting for Southwest to open September dates they will be updating on March 3rd for dates to Oct 31st. They updated today till Aug 8th.

Our park of the day is picked using this same process you described. We don't usually park hop but I was considering it this time since our room is the gift of the use of a friends time share. Park hopper is usually an expense we choose to allocate to another activity typically a character meal. Not being able to FP at more then one park a day does make park hopping a different experience. I was thinking it might be fun to come and go from Epcot as we please.

I was also hoping that some one could give me some opinions on their favorite character meal. We have done CM, CP, CRT and AH. We are considering Ohana and 1900PF. My concerns are the preplated all you can eat at Ohana breakfast and the breakfast characters at 1900PF. Any thoughts?

When will Sept hours be posted?

The stickie of when hours will be posted says Sept hours will be posted in March but others say in the next week or so. I always assumed 6 mths prior to that month. I'm waiting for that as well, even though my ADR date is March 31st for Sept 27th arrival.

I do & I don't, lol. We will definitely be doing Crystal Palace but can't really decide anywhere else. My main ADR I'm trying to plan for is our 10th wedding anniversary. Our actual anniversary date will be while we are there. I'm leaning toward Narcossees for it though. How about you, any ideas for your ADR's?

I agree with March 31st not coming fast enough but at least we only have 62 days to wait. :) I have a countdown not only for when we arrive in the World but for when ADR's can be made. Lol Crazy woman here. Lol

2 count downs that isn't crazy. I seem to have them all over the house. Every calendar I have seems to have some notes on how many days to go..

Since we will be there for our daughters 5th birthday we are planning on crystal palace for her birthday breakfast, followed by a trip to the BBB and then meet the princesses. Her birthday dinner I am planing on CRT. My parents who are coming too want the luau. Thinking I'd like to try BOG. Hollywood and Vine for a breakfast or lunch (DD loves Sophia and Doc). Other than that I am not sure. There are a couple other places I'd like to try but not sure.

When we were there in 2010 my DH and I loved teppen edo in Epcot.

Congrats on 10 years! This year marks our 10th anniversary too, but in April. My dad is sending us to Vegas for that. the debate there is wether we rent a car and drive to Disneyland since that is where we went on our honeymoon.
