“IF THIS IS A DREAM, I DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP!” – POP! Goes The Solo Trip **THE END**

Great pics of the Country Bears! I like the show but I don't think I could see it every trip, its borderline creepy to me :rotfl2:

I love the Riverboat's view of BTMRR. If that boat had more seating I'd be all over it every trip. It does look awful pretty all lit up at night though even when it isn't running.

I agree, who doesn't love Big Al? Country Bears still holds a special place in my heart. I still like it.

How nice of that CM being so determined to give you the information that you requested.

:lmao: Nice Miley Cyrus shot. Hysterical.

And there's.....blood on the saddle......and a puddle of......blood on the ground. Amazing stuff. :lmao:

That scene on the river is totally like Pirates at DLR.

OMG Dani, Big Al is just the absolute best. I so want a picture with him someday.

It was really sweet. I had to wonder if she was just excited to have a goal to achieve as I don't think the Country Bear CM's get much love sadly.

Hehe... I could not resist. What is wrong with that girl!!??

I am SO glad that Disney didn't remove this as was rumored. I mean, I grew up with this song and I turned out (relatively) ok.

Thank you, I'm so glad you agree. I was thinking it was just me.

Great updates Rob!

Yay for your awesome "Wishes" night. Absolutely that "once in a lifetime" kind of experience.

IASW...I too will say "no thanks"!

Just love that you didn't have to ride Splash by yourself! :lovestruc

Country Bears has always been one of my favorites. Think I need to pay a visit when I am there in Dec. ""All the boys that turn me on, turn me down"" LOL!

I might also try the Riverboat. Great to see MK from another perspective.

I hope you get to do your BD trip. I know I am looking forward to mine (11/30-12/6).:goodvibes

Thank you so much!!

Oh God, it really was amazing. I will never forget it.

Haha, I try but I just can't!!

Oh me too. Splash is meant to be shared and who better to share it with really.

I really don't know why I kept passing this by. Well, last October it was in refurb, but still, to wait 7 years?? It is SO very entertaining and my God it's funny.

Totally. It really is a major reason to ride. I just really enjoyed seeing things from the other side.

Oh me too. I really want to. I've never been on my actual birthday. I've been very close, missing it by one day 4 years ago, but I just want to be there on the actual day.

Great update! Big Al reminds me of my grandpa too so I enjoy seeing the show once in awhile for that very reason :)

Nice pics from the Riverboat and the swamp guy looks just like the DL POC.

Thank you Dawn, and I think this is your first post so you get a big 'ol :welcome:

Aww wow, same thing with your grandpa. That's so amazing.

Thanks so much, and thank you for confirming that. I know you guys just had a DL trip, so I'm so glad you agree.

Ha ha! Rob you are so funny! A Miley (train wreck) Cyrus shot! :rotfl: I'm surprised that your favorite Country Bear Jamboree song isn't "All the Guys that Turn Me On Turn Me Down" I thought that was adorable! And of course the CBJ CM was there to get you the hoedown information - You ARE DisneyKid4Life. Did you forget that?? ;) So are there set times for those characters? We saw them but it was during our tour so didn't really get to stop and interact.

Nice BTMRR photo from the Liberty Belle. (I have to think a moment about which boat is named which for DLR vs MK.) Sneak peek here for you Rob but we successfully crossed this one off our list this time.

I had some solo time at MK last trip and toured Frontierland alone as well.

Bahaha, Thanks Brenda, it just needed to be said.
Oh trust me I love all the songs, but "Blood on the Saddle" just brings back such great memories.

Awww you're way too sweet. :flower3: Especially coming from someone who's current TR is burning up the DIS.
Yes, according to the CM, these characters all come out for a hoedown in front of CBJ at set times. I kept seeing them constantly it seemed.

Yup, Liberty Belle in MK, and Mark Twain in DL (I think). Yay, I LOVE sneak peeks!! Thanks for the insider info (that I will use in the future to brag when you post that). ;)

YAY solo time!! You had some solo time at DHS too if I recall. Now what I don't know is were Em was during this solo time. :scratchin

I love Country Bears. My daddy loved that show so it is a must do for me. I feel like I'm honoring his memory and remembering childhood trips. My favorites are the small girl bear on the swing and "All the ones that turn me in turn me down". But really my family loved all the attractions that most guidebooks say are skip able. We are just "Classic Disney" people!

Oh me too. I can't believe I waited that long to go back. It's so amazing how so many of us had that pushed down to us from fathers/grandfathers. It's such a shame that this is called skip-able. Everyone in the audience, young and old, were clapping along and laughing and just enjoying it. I think it's a must do.

You're such a Disney celebrity. I bet Ariel paged over and let all the CMs know that a special friend was in town

I was always unfazed by the talking animal heads, maybe because I was desensitized at such a young age, plus we frequented a restaurant called Bugaboo Creek that had similar animal heads.

:lmao: at Miley Cyrus. She's an interesting one.

Blood on the Saddle is my favorite song too!

We were SO CLOSE to doing the Riverboat on this trip. I'll get there someday...

Awww Courtney, you are way too sweet. I imagine that CM was just bored.

Isn't it weird though? I just never thought it was odd that these body-less creatures were alive. Completely unfazed.

Oh indeed she is. :rolleyes2

Ahh yay!! I love that song and the out of tune guitar.

There ya go, something for the next trip. It's a great middle of the day ride when other things are really busy.

The way you described Splash Mountain sums up my feelings entirely. It is so representative of Disney! And your photo with Ariel is fantastic! I've been thinking about writing a blog post of best ride photos out there that people submit - that would be a winner for sure!

I haven't stopped to watch the castle show in so long. I should really get around to doing that again.

You know, what you were saying about the characters not being spontaneous anymore reminded me a lot of the way Disney's headed in general in that regard. I like to plan things, but even I prefer a little spontaneity once in awhile. You already to have to figure out what you want to eat 180 days in advance - now with fast pass plus we'll have to know what rides we want to go on before we even get there!

You must eat at Be Our Guest! I've been there twice for dinner and it's fantastic. We had great food, but even putting the food aside the decor inside is just breathtaking. And of course the Beast is there!

I haven't seen the County Bear Jamboree in ages... since I was 8 years old. Funny story about that... apologies if I've told you this story already. I've told it a number of time to different people in the DIS and I lose track! But when we went to Disney for the first time my dad's boss told him the one thing he absolutely did not want to miss was the country bears. So we got to MK at rope drop determined to make our way to the country bears! We joined all of the crowds heading toward Frontierland, and then we make it to the Jamboree.... and everyone else keeps going past us to Splash Mountain. Needless to say, we were the only ones in the theater, but we got to see the very first showing of the day of the Country Bear Jamboree!

Thank you so much Becky, I really and truly appreciate that. Ahh, if you do that post let me know!!

Oh totally. I missed the very beginning, but this was the most I'd seen up to that point. It is so good. It's now a must do each and every trip for sure. it just makes you feel good.

I know, I actually think it's sad and you are spot on about my feelings as well. I'm not a big sit down table service type generally, so the ADR thing never affected me, partly
because I don't want to plan things that far ahead. BUT, FP+ does concern me. Like most, I like to have a general idea of park days and stuff, but I don't really want to reserve a
ride or show 6 months in advance. I'll reserve judgment until it all rolls out to be fair, but it really does concern me. It seems like the fun is being taken away and replaced with structure. And I don't think that's a good thing.

Don't I know it. That's my main goal... to just see the inside of this place. I've seen so many photos, but obviously seeing it in person must be way better.

You're not alone in skipping the Bears. Sadly, a lot of people do, including me for years. I think this is the first time I've heard your story, so no apology needed
And see that, every one skips it. I had a very similar story back in 2006. I brought a friend to Disney (it was his very first time ever), and the very first attraction we did was
Country Bear. We were almost alone in the theatre. Of course knowing what I know now, it does make sense to wait until later and see it and hit the more popular attractions first.
But at the time I honestly thought Country Bear would be packed.

HAHA! That also, appropriately, sounds suspiciously like a Harry Potter quote ;)

Well, gosh! I guess the next time I pay a visit to Big Al, I'll just tell 'em all that Rob sent me... though I won't expect the red carpets to be rolled out like you experienced. :rolleyes1 That CM certainly did give you VIP treatment though, huh!? :thumbsup2

Also, by the way, I laughed my you-know-what off about the Miley Cyrus jab... :rotfl:

Glad you finally got to ride around on the riverboat - it's definitely not a must do for me on each trip either, but nice every once in a while.

Haha, why I guess it does! :)

Yes you must do that if only to see the royal treatment you are sure to receive... or maybe more likely :joker:
She really did treat me well, I must say. Is it any wonder why I love Disney CM's so darn much.

Bahaha, it just needed to be said.

Yeah totally. I have no real desire to go back on any time soon, but every once in a while would be fine, and I certainly don't regret it.

Great update! :)

Thanks so much!!

Loved the Miley Cyrus comment. Kudos! :thumbsup2

Yes, I love Big Al and am perfectly content to have "Blood on the Saddle" running through my brain, whereas "It's a Small World", not so much.

I don't think I've ever been on the riverboat, but I could be wrong about that.

Haha, thanks Glenn. It just had to be done. And given her (unfortunate) Disney ties, it fits nicely into a Disney TR.

So true right? Oh God I love that song in all it's out of tune glory. Not Tex Ritter of course… the guitar.

I have a feeling a lot of people haven't been on it. It's certainly not a Must Do, but I would say it's a "If you've done everything else and you want to be a completist" do.
That said, being the photog that you are, I'd recommend it for that reason alone.

Love the pictures from the Liberty Belle - especially of Bid Thunder Mountain ...

... especially the shot of the backside of the mountain goat ... which is not nearly as thrilling as the back side of water ;)

There's definitely some great photo ops on there especially Big Thunder.

Haha, so true... but still pretty darn cool.

HAHAHA, I'd rather see the Country Bears hoedown ANY day!

The Riverboat looks nice! I've been meaning to do that forever.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Hehe, me too Marissa, Me Too!!!!!

It's not a bad way to spend some time actually. I'd definitely recommend trying it once just to say you did.

And you poor thing still running off your iPhone. I sure hope you're able to get your computer issues sorted out soon. I miss your updates!!

I am finally up to date on this TR! I really enjoy your writing style and love the enthusiasm you bring to every post!

The story about you meeting that sweet older man was wonderful and the story about where you got your TR title is SO heart melting! Disney truly is full of magic pixiedust:

:yay: Thank you so very much for kind words Alexis and :welcome: I truly appreciate you following along.

Oh God it was the most amazing back to back experience I could encounter. Disney really is a magical place.

Ah thanks Jess. Bahaha creepy eh? Yeah I can see that. ;)

Oh me too. I loved getting to see BTM in places you otherwise can't get to. I totally agree, it's a very pretty boat.

Oh, country bears. So fun & classic disney. I think our grandpas would have been friends. Mine liked this show too.

It's been a while since I've been on that boat. You got some amazing shots! Proves that I really need to go again. I was going to go this weekend but I ended up deciding against it.

Speaking of this weekend, I really wanted to take a video of small world for you but unfortunately my phone was near death. I know, you're totally heartbroken, aren't you? I know I am. :)

OKay so i have lots to say because I began reading before my May trip but then had to leave n had so much going on since But i made it i'm back n you're about to get 900 comments Oopsy ;)

Another valuable recommendation from you! This is ace. I've never been on the Liberty Belle - I'm not even sure I knew that we could! We did pop over to Tom Sawyer Island on the raft, but that's not nearly so elegant and fun.

*adds to to-do list*

How awesome that the CM jumped through hoops to get you your information. Love the extra mile Disney cms will go! :thumbsup2
I had bad

Then, it was time for the hoedown (and no, I’m not referring to Miley Cyrus at the VMA's).
[/CENTER]

YES! I had a good hearty laugh out loud.
Ahh Country Bears. So nostalgic!
LOVE all the pics from the Riverboat!

It really is, isn't it? Just... classic. I guess all grandpas loved it. :)

Aww thank you. This was my first time ever, which is just shocking to me. Granted there's not much to it really, but the views from there are spectacular. And as long as it's not too crowded, it's easy to move from one spot to another to get all the photos you could ever want.

 indeed!!! Well maybe more like :scared1:
Haha, see, your phone dying was totally caused by your intent of filming that terrifying ride. The phone just wanted no part of it. ;)

BUT, what a sweet thought nonethless. :flower3:

Subbing. Just finished reading Danimaroo's TR and decided to come join yours. :thumbsup2

YAY and :welcome: I'm so glad you did. Haha, hopefully I can provide at least a percentage of the entertainment value that Dani does. :rolleyes2

OKay so i have lots to say because I began reading before my May trip but then had to leave n had so much going on since But i made it i'm back n you're about to get 900 comments Oopsy ;)

Yay, I'm glad you're back Carrie!.

Oh God, I think I'm becoming obsessed with Everest. I just can't get enough. Thankfullly for me, it's much easier to ride it mulitple times unlike Soarin' where you're lucky to get on maybe twice. Though I do love me some Soarin' too.

Bahaha... Pudding Pop.

Oh me too. It was a hellish few hours though.

I really enjoyed it too. Much better than I was expecting.

Mmmmmmm pizza.

Yeah, it's not so much that I dislike Avatar. I mean, Disney is sure to make it amazing. I would just prefer they focus more on their own stuff is all.

Hehehe, glad to see some Ewok love. They just normally get none.

Bahaha, I just couldn't not give up that spot to them. And my reward was a ride on Everest, so not too shabby.

Haha me too. Chandler rules!

It's definitely an interesting combination for a cupcake, that's for sure.
I'm definteily gonna try to get caught up!!

I love that shirt!! It was a last minute thing for the trip. Most of the cast members totally got it and loved it.

Haha, I still can't believe I did that. OK, I can believe it. Thank God nobody was around. Yeah, that would totally be ok at Walmart.

Aww, thank you. I had to try to get my money's worth, which I believe I did.

Aren't they adorable???? They're precious anyway (I've never had a bad meet with them), but they cowboy outfit? Beyond cute.

Ahahaha, that's hysterical! I hadn't even noticed that, but it totally does look like he lost his leg. Leave it to a child to pick up on that. Too funny!

Aww thanks Elaine!! Yup, you can totally ride the Liberty Belle, and even better, there's usually not much wait at all. It's a great middle of the afternoon attraction.

You know what, I'm not sure I've ever even set foot on Tom Sawyer Island. I'm sure I will some day just to say I did though.

How awesome that the CM jumped through hoops to get you your information. Love the extra mile Disney cms will go! :thumbsup2

YES! I had a good hearty laugh out loud.
Ahh Country Bears. So nostalgic!
LOVE all the pics from the Riverboat!

I so agree, but honestly Wendy, I almost expect nothing less anynmore. The CM's really are the difference maker.

Tee Hee, I could not resist. I am nothing if not topical!

Yes, I think I must make the Country Bears a more common occurance from now on. So much fun!

Thank you very kindly.

Oh lol you have no idea howe excited i was the day I realised i was within height range for an ewok, yep I'm a munchkin ,which brings me to the T shirt thing ,i soooooo need one of the height requirement symbol!!!!

I am loving your TR!!! :thumbsup2

So funny and enjoy reading all about your solo adventures! Also your description of how you feel about Wishes is perfect. Then add the little girl shouting "If this is a dream, I don't want to wake up" yep I would have been a mess too! A similar thing happened when I saw Enchanted Tales with Belle. A little girl dressed as Belle ran up to her and hugged her, while tears rolled down her face. She was that happy! It was one of those moments for me as well! Anyway, can't wait to read more!

Ya know I have never went on the Riverboat before. You have some awesome photos while riding it. It is interesting to see MK from a different view :thumbsup2 especially the Big Thunder Mountain. I have heard some have seen gators while riding that. I may have to ride it next time and also look for gators :rotfl:

Bahaha, Nice!

Just take a picture of it and presto, easy iron on transfer!! That's what I did for the "No Dancing" shirt.

I am loving your TR!!! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, that Wishes experience was simply precious and oh so special. I will never forget it. That is such a sweet story with little Belle. It's so wonderful watching the little kids see the characters and be so touched by it. That's what it's all about really.

Thanks so much for reading!

Up until this point I was right there with you Mary. Thanks so much for your kind words. It really is cool to see the park from the boat. It's so different.

Yes, I've heard there are Gators in there as well. In fact, take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1ZqrnJkQuQ

All caught up!!!! Great posts!!!

Thanks Lauren!! Welcome back! :goodvibes

"I’M GONNA RIDE THAT PUPPY... AND I’M GONNA GET WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!"
Day 5 – May 1, 2013 Part 5

After disembarking the Liberty Belle, I shuffled over to Tomorrowland.

On thing that seemed incredibly clear to me being solo was I was far more likely to criss cross back and forth across the park than I would normally.

My feet were not amused.

When I arrived in Tomorrowland, since I had the Attractions+ card, I decided to go on Buzz.

I'm really not a big fan of this because I find it more frustrating than fun.

All you have to go by is a little red dot, and with all the others shooting at the same time, that's a lot of little red dots.

It’s like the ride has the chicken pox or measles, or is just a great big red light district with none of the benefits.

Nonetheless, since it offered a ride photo, I figured it would make sense to ride to make sure I got my money’s worth.

While walking through the queue, there was a hysterical older couple behind me, so things were already looking up.

I don't know if they were Jewish, but they had a decidedly Jewish accent, and their conversation was really amusing to me.

They clearly had just come off of Buzz and were going again in the hope of getting a better score.

I had to admire their drive and determination.

When the husband said to his wife that "There's got to be a system to it",

It was all I could do to not die of laughter right there when his wife responded as seriously as a heart attack,

"You gotta aim is the system!"

It would have been funny to me anyway, but they were both just so deadly serious about it, that it just cracked me up inside.

And well, she did have a point.

I reviewed the instructions that Disney so thoughtfully provides thoroughly,

149.jpg

Before continuing on through the queue.

150.jpg

Despite my lack of enthusiasm for the ride itself, admittedly the queue is pretty cool.

Finally I loaded into my vehicle and I was off to save the galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg.

I'll just say it now... I suck at this. I suck huge.

Don’t get me wrong, I do try, but if they gave a degree in Space Ranger Spin Suckage, I would be an honours student, and in fact would likely receive a PHD in Suck-a-tude

The aforementioned couple were in the vehicle directly behind me and she was so excited that this time, she was way better than the last at a huge 35,000 points.

She was absolutely overjoyed, over the moon, excited!

When the ride ended, I looked at my score, flashing in front of me.

Then I looked again.

I quickly grabbed my camera to capture it but it every time I clicked the camera I would get the "off" cycle.

So I continued to click away probably 10 to 15 times until I finally captured my score on film (digitally).

151.jpg

Do not ask me how I achieved this score; I simply don't know.

I realize there are certain targets that are worth big points that I obviously hit without trying because, as I mentioned before,

If I was born 65 million years ago and played this I would be a Suckasaurus.

Perhaps it was the advice I had overheard and thought was so funny just moments ago that "You gotta aim is the system!".

Although I assure you, aiming is not my thing.

Or maybe this ride isn't so bad after all.

According to the ride photo, I was certainly focused.

152.jpg

I was almost perfect; so close to maxing out the 999,999.

I was very excited, but then extremely bummed that I had come that close only to fall just short, and also because I had no one to brag to.

I mean, what’s the point of achieving a great score on Buzz Lightyear if there’s no one there to gloat to?

When I stumbled out as a mere Cosmic Commando instead of a Galactic Hero, the line for Space Mountain was really short, so I jumped in for a ride through space.

153.jpg

154.jpg

155.jpg

Clearly I was not paying attention as we approached the ride photo camera, but I think I may have been drumming to the Space Mountain beat.

Unfortunately, that just does not translate in a still photo.

Since the line was still short upon my exit, and I wasn't really happy with the ride photo, I went again.

156.jpg

That's better.

157.jpg

158.jpg

I was much more satisfied this go around, so I felt comfortable moving on.

I realized at this point that I hadn't yet been into the Haunted Mansion so I moseyed on over there.

159.jpg

There was very little line, so I went into the extended queue to play since it was “Open for Visitation”.

160.jpg

See, I told ya.

The interactive queue is a fantastic addition and a whole lot of fun if you take your time through it.

161.jpg

162.jpg

163.jpg

164.jpg

165.jpg

166.jpg

When I emerged from the dark recesses of the mansion, thankfully with my head still intact,

The princesses were passing by in the parade (yeah, the princes were there too, but whatever),

So I took the opportunity to snap some photos.

Whether it’s true or not, I firmly believe that every wave is meant for me and me only.

167.jpg

168.jpg

I was also glad to see that Ariel was all dried off and looking lovely after our ride on Splash earlier.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but to me the Prince looks like he’s about to cop a feel, which I would definitely not consider particularly charming.

169.jpg

Nonetheless, Aurora and Phillip appear happier than ever.

170.jpg

Ummm well, maybe I spoke too soon…

171.jpg

I’m not sure of the reason, but me think-eth he will be sleeping on the couch-eth tonight-eth.

TO BE CONTINUED…

I can't believe I fell so far behind on this awesome TR! I'm all caught up now and just had to post and let you know how much I'm enjoying it. I love your writing style and sense of humour, I've been LOL all through this report. :lmao:

Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

I don't know what made me laugh harder... the Miley slam or the red light district reference :rotfl:

Totally with you on Buzz. Especially since Toy Story Mania showed up, I just get more annoyed with Buzz every single trip. This past trip my mom and I would hit the same targets, and she would get 1,000 points and I would just get 100. I did manage to get 600,000 once...no idea how it happened.

The red light district comment, though :rotfl: this is a family park!!

I love the Haunted Mansion queue too. Now you have to go through the cemetery if you don't have Fastpass+, but I love reading all the headstones.

Cannot unsee that image of Prince Charming. Pull it together, Charming, this is once again a family park!

Hehe Aurora is not having any of this. Great moment to capture.
