“IF THIS IS A DREAM, I DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP!” – POP! Goes The Solo Trip **THE END**

Since the line was still short upon my exit, and I wasn't really happy with the ride photo, I went again.

This is by far the best reason ever to take a 2nd ride, forget the fun, it's all about the picture. :thumbsup2

Whether it’s true or not, I firmly believe that every wave is meant for me and me only.

I think it's true. Ariel has probably been telling all the other princesses about your Splash Mtn ride together so now you're in the princess inner circle.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but to me the Prince looks like he’s about to cop a feel

If not for the incredibly touching Wishes story with the little girl this could have made a great trip report title. :rotfl2:

As always loving your report.

That Buzz score is pretty dang amazing!! I am seriously awful at that ride too, I never seem to break 20,000. :lmao: In fact, I'm pretty sure my toddler has scored better than me!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your TR!!!!:yay::yay::yay: I feel like I have been to Disney.. I have went several times solo myself and had a ball.. Looking forward to the rest of the story!!! durn wheres that little popcrn guy when you want him....... oh well :flower3:

Hurray!! All caught up. :cool1:

I too love that picture of Aurora and Phillip. That look is just priceless. :)

Awesome score on Buzz. You know I have never been on that ride, I don't know how I missed it. Going to have to try it on the next trip.

I am SO bummed that Splash will probably be closed while I am there. Hoping, hoping, hoping and wishing that it will not be closed for refurbishment the week we are there. I LOVE that ride, a favorite for all of us and I will be so sad :sad1: if I am not able to ride it.

I do love all your ride pics and great comments. Looking forward to your next update. popcorn::

Hey Rob! It was great reading about your KTTK tour. Your description of it was certainly not too long or boring at all! I have wanted to do that for a LONG time and I can't believe I never did! I actually remember reading about it before turning 16 and being annoyed that I couldn't do it, haha! It's probably about time I get on that.

I never noticed the peg leg on the Pirates ramp! How awesome! Also I didn't know there were mermaids on POTC besides the skeleton until I read this. I looked it up just now and apparently you can SEE THEM SWIMMING BESIDE YOUR BOAT? WHAAAAAT HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?

That man you met while waiting for Wishes to let up, wow! I know I will still be coming back at that age. I know almost nothing of what'll be going on all those years later but I know I'll still go to Disney just like him! I teared up during your description of the child yelling out during Wishes. I know all these feelings you're expressing all too well! I'm never gonna wake up from my Disney dream, I know that much.

Hahaha, absolutely correct. Especially when the photos are essentially free at this point.

Ahhh I hope so. I mean, they were clearly looking right at me! Ooh, inner circle. See now they'll ALL want to take a ride on Splash.

Oh for sure. The photos from that parade were so surprising. That's why I just love snapping away. You just never know what you'll end up with.

Thank you ever so much! :goodvibes

That Buzz score is pretty dang amazing!! I am seriously awful at that ride too, I never seem to break 20,000. :lmao: In fact, I'm pretty sure my toddler has scored better than me!

Aww thanks, but it was really nothing but dumb luck. Point and pull the trigger and hope for the best. :rotfl:

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! That makes me feel so great. :welcome: Isn't a solo trip fun? Definitely different, but very special. Ahh I like the little flower guy too. :)

Hurray indeed!!! :woohoo:

OMG me too!!! Just one of those candid moments that you don't even know about until you get home. So funny!

Ahhh thanks! I was pretty excited, but I will probably never come close again. Yeah, definitely try it. It's certainly not a favorite of mine, but it is worth doing.

OHHHHH NOOOOOOOOO! I would be heartbroken. It's just so amazing. It's easily my fav in MK. But, it does have a lot of issues too. Back in October last year it was open exactly once during my whole trip. I so hope you get to go on it but I did just read that the refurb is scheduled for January 6-31. :(

Thank you SOOO MUCH!!

Hey right on back Lia. :wave2:

Aww thank you. I sure do appreciate that. I loved that tour and I really can't recommend it enough. So many people get worried that it will "destroy the magic" but I really think it's just the opposite. For me it only made it even stronger. pixiedust:

Haha, A lot of the little Disney details I hear about beforehand like the key under the mat at MuppetVision. I was so proud of myself on the peg leg in that I hadn't read or heard about it beforehand. I just noticed it all by myself. This is why Disney will always be #1. They do things that the vast majority of guests would never ever notice, and yet, they still do it. Why? For "us", those crazy obsessed Disney fans.
Yup, you can totally see the mermaids... kinda. I found they are really hard to see, but they are there. I had to go a few times actually before I saw them, and I knew they were there. And, scarily, you can hear them singing too!! Just for reference, it's right before the display with the skeleton. I do have a photo in the next update, but it's really hard to shoot.

Oh God Lia, he was simply precious and so nice and I was so very grateful to have met him. My only regret is that I never got his name. And yup, toally agree. I really saw myself in him and really have no doubt that whatever life brings, it will always include Disney.

Ahhh Wishes. I can't imagine ever having a better moment, I really can't. It was so precious and real and emotional and... perfect. :lovestruc

... Just like your trip reports. :)

Omg,
"You gotta aim is the system!"

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: TOO funny!!

I actually love Buzz! Call me crazy (or perhaps a little OCD) but I can always find and track my own dot. Not that it helps, my scores are generally abysmal. ::yes::
Glad you got your system down, holy awesome score!
Your second go-round on Space resulted in a much better photograph. :thumbsup2 I wasn't paying attention last time I rode and got a funny picture out of it too.
HM is definitely my favourite ride, I really love the new queue too.
Love your pic (and corresponding comments) about the Princes and Princesses in the parade! :rotfl:

I know right??!! It totally cracked me up (inside at least).

OK, I will have to call you crazy.

Thanks Wendy! I promise you it was nothing but a fluke, but I guess that woman knew what she was talking about. :thumbsup2

OMG absolutely. I have no clue where my head was at in that first one. The joys of SM I guess. :rolleyes2

So great and so classic. It's amazing how much they've "plussed" it over the years while still maintaining its essence. The genius of Disney.

Oh God such great captures that I had no idea I even had at the time. :woohoo:

And, somehow, I am all caught up!

:banana::banana::banana:

I love your pictures of an empty Frontierland! Looks like you got there even before the pioneers did!

Great pictures with Chip and Dale. They are my favorite Disney characters!

I like the friend sitting next to you on the log, but isn't that the wrong mermaid for Splash? Can you just imagine that cat fight between Ariel, Daryl and Stacey over you? OK, stop picturing that! This is a family board!

What a riot about the wait time on Peter Pan! I have pictures legitimately showing a 5 minute wait time, but that has been when we have gone to the ride very first thing at opening. That is the only way to do PP- either first thing in the morning or with a FP. I would never EVER wait in the standby line for that ride!

Your comment about Disney chicken nuggets is funny. One year, my son ordered chicken nuggets at a few different places and each time he declared them the best ever.

Really amazing pictures at the Country Bears. We have not been to that attraction in years, but the pictures look exactly the way I remember it. Probably wait a few more years before going again.

The Liberty Belle is a nice, relaxing ride with a different view of the World. My son Ben and I did this a couple of years ago when he didn't want to go on Haunted Mansion. Fortunately, that stage where he was scared of HM (mostly the screaming in the stretching room) has passed.

You have completely and totally talked me into booking that tour....I'm gonna surprise Shan....oh, now I can't wait! I have always gone back and forth, should we shouldn't we, thanks for the push to BOOK IT!

Yay DEE!!!!! :woohoo: I've been trying to go slow.

Haha, thanks. It was so abandoned.

I loved it. Granted they're everywhere, but little cowboy hats??? You cannot resist that cuteness.

Bahaha, yes, it would be the wrong mermaid, but you just can't say no to a princess. Stacey is still my #1 though.

It just looked so funny to me. Only the super fans like Disers would get the humour in it. You're right, there is no way to ride it unless you hit it right at open or with FP. I'm with you, no way I'm riding that standby.

I don't know what it is, but Disney nuggets are spectacular... and probably extremely unhealthy, but whatever.

Thank you, that little camera really impressed me. After having finally gone after all these years, I think it will now be higher on my list. I just loved it.

I did enjoy the Liberty Belle, but I think this one will be a while before a revisit. I have to give you props as well for not forcing Ben into HM. I never ever had a problem with it myself, but now as an adult I see (well mostly hear) so many terrified kids in that stretching room and yet the parents force them to stay. It's just not right.

You have completely and totally talked me into booking that tour....I'm gonna surprise Shan....oh, now I can't wait! I have always gone back and forth, should we shouldn't we, thanks for the push to BOOK IT!

Ahhhh Jacquie, I'm so excited. You two are gonna LOVE IT I think. It's such an amazing glimpse into the inner working of MK; I can't recommend it enough. I can't wait to hear your take when you do.

Hey Rob! Happy Sunday!

Is this the "dramatic pause" before you post your next update because I sure am ready to hear more!!! :lmao:

waiting... waiting..... waiting

yep, still waiting!! :wave2:

Bahahaha, you are tooooooo cute! :cutie: I've actually been on the line with Disney trying to see if I could sort out some accommodations, but no luck yet. :worried: The issue is I had my heart set on staying at WL (start at POP and then WL for just a couple days) at the very end, but there's nothing available. So I'm still trying to decide what to do. :(

I do have a new update ready to go though. :)

Ahahah, yeah, I definitely will be more likely to park hop when I’m alone. Done with one park, really want to go watch FOTLK another time, SURE! Then let’s run over to DHS to catch a show, then to Beach Club for lunch, then back to MK for the parade, then back to DHS for Fantasmic, seems sane, right?! Bahah

I find Buzz as frustrating as you, I just can’t manage it at all!

Hold up…wait a second…what the heck is going on with that princess float?!? Cindy and Charming are on their other float with the Godmother..what the heck!? IF THEY CAN FIT THAT MANY ON THAT FLOAT RAPUNZEL AND FLYNN SHOULD BE IN THE FREAKING PARADE!! #rant Oh well, I’ve seen the parade for the last time, the new one’s supposed to have a tangled section anyways..

Oh my god aurora’s face!

Glad you didn’t do a million updates so I can keep up to date easier!! Lol!

Excellent excuse Rob! I fully support your booking efforts. Let us know how that goes!!

Ain't it the truth and totally and completely sane. Well Disney sane at least. The beauty of having no one to consult or answer to.

I probably wouldn't mind it so much, but to be really honest, there's not a lot to it. Kind of like glow bowling. It looks cool, but it's still bowling (not that I'm slagging bowling).

BAHAHA #rant nice one!!! I can't imagine the new one not having them included and for that matter Tinkerbell too. After all, Soundsational has her.

Oh God that photo cracks me up. Too perfect... I can't even.

Hehe, I think you updated more than I did!! :rotfl:

Excellent excuse Rob! I fully support your booking efforts. Let us know how that goes!!

Haha, I just wish I had someone to make decisions for me!!!! :crazy2:

"I’M GONNA RIDE THAT PUPPY... AND I’M GONNA GET WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!"
Day 5 – May 1, 2013 Part 6

After the parade had passed, and Aurora I’m sure continued to explain to Phillip that,

“If you don’t know what you did, I’m not going to tell you!”,

I moved on back to Fantasyland, and snagged a now working Peter Pan Fastpass for later.

172.jpg

Then I went to see something I hadn't yet seen this trip, which is just flat out wrong.

173.jpg

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I… LOVE… THIS… SHOW!!!!

I will grant you that 3D shows aren’t the unique attraction they once were, but this show is just brilliant.

This was the first 3D (well really 4D) show I saw in WDW and to this day is still my absolute favorite.

You have our beloved Donald as our “guide” which should be enough right there, but no,

You then have him interacting with an absolute “Who’s Who” of Disney animation throughout.

It’s funny, it’s moving, and my God those songs!

And you finish it off with Duck butt (which I’m convinced was the inspiration for Nelly’s “Shake Ya Tailfeather”);

It’s simply perfection and it always gives me chills!

Upon my exit, I was feeling a tad hungry, but just for a snack.

Aloha Isle would fit the bill nicely, so that’s where I headed.

As I was walking over I passed the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, which I grant you, is not a terribly remarkable occurrence in and of itself,

But…

175.jpg

Ummmmmm… OK... Let's break this down...

In the same day I saw PPF showing 10 minutes and SFR at 60 minutes, so I had apparently entered Bizarro Disney World.

What’s next? Starbucks on Main Street? Megara removed from Fantasmic? The ability to book Fastpass times before you even leave home?

Ridiculous!

Brenda and all of you reading emmysmommy’s current TR:
It’s also possible that I had indeed entered “Walter Disneyland World” and didn’t even know it.

Now, obviously somebody was just having a bit of fun, but still... it cracked me up.

In thinking about it though, this could actually be a genius strategy.

There are rumours that in the early days of the Little Mermaid ride, Disney was over-estimating the wait time to make it appear even more popular than it was.

Now, God knows a ton of people who come to WDW do absolutely no research.
Seriously, how many people jump into a line without even knowing why?
They see a line and just assume it’s something important.
I’m sure some people have found themselves in the women’s washroom this way.

Not me of course, but some people. I only apparently go in where there’s no line, but I digress.

So to all these people, a “60 minute wait” means Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse must be one of the best “rides” in all of WDW, and off they go.

It could be a great way to get more people to visit this often deserted attraction.

Hire me Disney!!

Of course, the downside is the utter disappointment of the guest when they realize they basically just walked through the equivalent of a queue line, but no strategy is perfect.

And so ends the longest post ever involving Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

Anyway, to satiate my hunger, I ordered one of these;

176.jpg

Pineapple Citrus Swirl Dole Whip Float, and let me tell you, it really hit the spot.
I was determined to get my daily servings of fruit someway, somehow.

From here I just sort of wandered as I waited for my Peter Pan Fastpass time

While waiting, I decided to ride Pirates again in an attempt to get a picture of the new mermaids.

177.jpg

OK, they're realty tough to photograph, so you're just going to have to trust me that this is indeed a picture of a mermaid.

Let’s just say that this is not the best thing that Disney has ever done, but I do truly appreciate Disney continuing to plus their attractions.

I wandered into Frontierland, and creeped a picture of this guy who clearly wanted a close up of something.

178.jpg

I considered explaining that you can actually go over there and shoot your photos, but I imagine this way he could justify the added expense of that lens.

Then I headed back through Adventureland towards Fantasyland where I saw these guys out meeting.

179.jpg

It’s always a joy to see Disney characters, but they were about to finish up, and besides, I had a Fastpass to use.

I finally arrived in Fantasyland and rode with the Pan man courtesy of Fastpass.

Despite its age, I still thoroughly enjoy Peter Pan’s Flight. It’s an absolute classic.

I know a lot of people are calling for this to get “updated” with newer technology, but personally I think it’s fine just as it is.

A little "plussing" would be fine, just don't lose the essence of this great classic attraction.

After Pan, I went back to the Haunted Mansion to get a couple of photos I always wanted.

The first was the hidden Mickey on the dining room table in the ballroom, which was moderately successful.

180.jpg

Given that my camera is just a $150 Canon Elph, I was satisfied.

And this one came out ok too.

181.jpg

The second photo goal was outside in the pet graveyard,

182.jpg

Where my beloved Mr. Toad resides. RIP my little friend.

I was satisfied, so I moved back towards Main Street where Move It Shake It Celebrate It was just starting.

Actually, due to the rainy weather, they weren’t doing the stops, so they just brought the floats and performers out to do a loop.

As you can see, barely any crowds.

Hi!

183.jpg

Hello!

184.jpg

Wazzup?

185.jpg

186.jpg

188.jpg

Yo!

189.jpg

Dude!

190.jpg

Bonjour!

191.jpg

193.jpg

I swear the fish I caught was THIS BIG!!

194.jpg

The young lady on the right in previous photo stopped and came over to tell me how much she loved my “Small World” shirt then proceeded to run ahead to grab her partner to show it to him.

195.jpg

I love me some attention!

‘Sup Sebastian?

197.jpg

She’s actually busting out the “Cabbage Patch”! Awesome!!!!

198.jpg

I love this “parade” SO MUCH, and it is without a doubt because of the wonderful performers.

The “Celebrate A Dream Come True” parade is fine (though I am really stoked for the “Festival of Fantasy” parade), but I enjoy this one so much more.

The regular parade is much more structured and choreographed, which is fine, but I just absolutely love the spontaneity and energy of Move It Shake It.

Not to mention the ridiculously fun costumes.

Even in the rain, the energy was high and the performers were a blast.

It’s just flat out fun.

200.jpg

Thank you Walt!

TO BE CONTINUED…

Now we're talking!! That's an update!

A 60 minute wait for Swiss Family Robinson?? :rolleyes1 Cazy huh???

Yep, sounds like you had entered that Walter Disneyland world place! Hang on coming back for more comments...

Ok, now I'm paying attention and I'm gonna prove it!! :rotfl2:

After the parade had passed, and Aurora I’m sure continued to explain to Phillip that,

“If you don’t know what you did, I’m not going to tell you!”,

Yep, sounds like a wife!! [insert evil eye here.... hold it... hold it... ok, he get's the message lighten up now!!]

I moved on back to Fantasyland, and snagged a now working Peter Pan Fastpass for later.

172.jpg

Excellent! You know you can sell that on the black market!

Then I went to see something I hadn't yet seen this trip, which is just flat out wrong.

Yes, wrong I tell ya!

Wait, what??? Muppets 3D doesn't have that distinction?? That's it!! I'm telling Miss Piggy!!

You have our beloved Donald as our “guide” which should be enough right there, but no,

You then have him interacting with an absolute “Who’s Who” of Disney animation throughout.

It’s funny, it’s moving, and my God those songs!

Makes ya wanna bust out singing, A Whole New World and The Lion King song - which one???

And you finish it off with Duck butt (which I’m convinced was the inspiration for Nelly’s “Shake Ya Tailfeather”);

It’s simply perfection and it always gives me chills!

And for those of us gals who sport long enough hair there is a certain magical website that sells these awesome ribbons that have Donald's butt as the mascot for this attraction. Sorry Rob to hijack ya there.

But…

175.jpg

Methinks it's a ploy as well. Or someone was messing with the guests.

Ummmmmm… OK... Let's break this down...

In the same day I saw PPF showing 10 minutes and SFR at 60 minutes, so I had apparently entered Bizarro Disney World.

I'm going to kick myself for asking (since I AM new here and all) what's PPF and SFR?? I have my hand positioned for the Doh! moment that will surely follow.

It does exist I'm sure....

Now, obviously somebody was just having a bit of fun, but still... it cracked me up.

In thinking about it though, this could actually be a genius strategy.

There are rumours that in the early days of the Little Mermaid ride, Disney was over-estimating the wait time to make it appear even more popular than it was.
No!! Disney would stoop to that??

Now, God knows a ton of people who come to WDW do absolutely no research.
Seriously, how many people jump into a line without even knowing why?
They see a line and just assume it’s something important.
I’m sure some people have found themselves in the women’s washroom this way.

If you find yourself in a line with ONLY women, you may want to tap the one in front of you on the shoulder just to check and make sure what they are doing. I just think with that hilarious episode of past updates that you were looking to explore every nook and cranny of the kingdom and you got a little carried away.

Disneykid4Life - the next Disney Imagineer. Has a nice ring.

Of course, the downside is the utter disappointment of the guest when they realize they basically just walked through the equivalent of a queue line, but no strategy is perfect.

And so ends the longest post ever involving Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

Anyway, to satiate my hunger, I ordered one of these;

176.jpg

Pineapple Citrus Swirl Dole Whip Float, and let me tell you, it really hit the spot.
I was determined to get my daily servings of fruit someway, somehow.

Spoiler alert but I FINALLY ordered a Dole Whip something this trip. Yum!!

Yeah I trust you because I don't see anything!!

Let’s just say that this is not the best thing that Disney has ever done, but I do truly appreciate Disney continuing to plus their attractions.

I wandered into Frontierland, and creeped a picture of this guy who clearly wanted a close up of something.

178.jpg

Looks like he is focusing on the raft. Hmmm....

Next Time Jas!

Nooooooo leave it alone. My favorite FL ride and one of my top 5 for MK.

A little "plussing" would be fine, just don't lose the essence of this great classic attraction.

I would say to slow the flight down a bit. it is hard to get low light photos with how fast it goes.

After Pan, I went back to the Haunted Mansion to get a couple of photos I always wanted.

The first was the hidden Mickey on the dining room table in the ballroom, which was moderately successful.

Given that my camera is just a $150 Canon Elph, I was satisfied.

And this one came out ok too.

And I would agree. Your photos came out great!

The second photo goal was outside in the pet graveyard,

Where my beloved Mr. Toad resides. RIP my little friend.

Ahhh I learned about that one on a recent tour...

I was satisfied, so I moved back towards Main Street where Move It Shake It Celebrate It was just starting.

Actually, due to the rainy weather, they weren’t doing the stops, so they just brought the floats and performers out to do a loop.

As you can see, barely any crowds.

Hi!

The young lady on the right in previous photo stopped and came over to tell me how much she loved my “Small World” shirt then proceeded to run ahead to grab her partner to show it to him.

I love me some attention!

‘Sup Sebastian?

I love this “parade” SO MUCH, and it is without a doubt because of the wonderful performers.

The “Celebrate A Dream Come True” parade is fine (though I am really stoked for the “Festival of Fantasy” parade), but I enjoy this one so much more.

The regular parade is much more structured and choreographed, which is fine, but I just absolutely love the spontaneity and energy of Move It Shake It.

Not to mention the ridiculously fun costumes.

Even in the rain, the energy was high and the performers were a blast.

It’s just flat out fun.

Thank you Walt!

I agree about the performers of this parade. They seem to engage with the guests more than any other that I have seen.

Ok, I think I remembered all of my comments this time.
