Chapter 19: Our Lazy Morning
December 8th, 2011
This morning I woke up a little after 9:00 am. That's a little late for Disney, I know. But I needed to catch up on my sleep!
The night before I took one of my acne pills immediately before I went to bed... and I think it settled the wrong way because when I woke up my throat was burning. Ugh, great. What an unpleasant feeling to have in Disney World. Especially on the day of my audition!
I got up, showered, and got ready! We left the room and went to The Riverside Mill for breakfast!
They have a FANTASTIC selection! There were so many choices, I didn't even know what to get!
I ended up getting Raisin Bran with strawberries and raspberries on top. The fruit was a bit tart, but the cereal tasted great!
Mom got some oatmeal with strawberries, raspberries, and yogurt. The fruit tasted fine to her! She also got a banana and some coffee!
Once we ate, we went outside to take some pictures! It may look sunny, but it was actually very chilly out that morning!
Apparently I stayed at Port Orleans Riverside back when it was called Dixie Landings. I vaguely remember this big wheel!
Port Orleans Riverside is so pretty! A huge regret I have about this trip is that I didn't make enough time to really explore the resort. I mean, we didn't even get to see the pool! I guess I'll just have to stay there again someday!
We went inside and took some time to look in the gift shop! The Christmas Tree in the lobby was so pretty!
From the pictures, the blue skies might have you thinking that the weather was really nice that day. Well... do not be deceived. It was sunny, but it was definitely on the chilly side. It was December, after all. We had to go back to the room so I could put some jeans on before leaving the resort!
We drove to Downtown Disney after that.
We arrived and I decided to get a smoothie! That sounded like it would coat my throat well. It was Strawberry Banana Flavored and it tasted really good. It definitely helped!
We went into the Art of Disney store and the T-Shirt store just to look around. We also browsed through the pin store!
I love the princesses!
Downtown Disney is very relaxed this early in the morning. It gave us a chance to just take it all in!
At 11:30 am we headed over to T-Rex for our lunch ADR! Woohoo!
This was our first time eating here and I was SUPER excited! I had heard great things!
The decor starts before you even enter the restaurant! IT'S SO AWESOME!
I asked if we could sit in the Ice Age room and my request was granted!
It was SO cool in there! (Yes, pun intended. Ice... Cool... Ha. Ha.) Oh my gosh, I loved it! It was dark and very loud, but since it was just me and my Mom we didn't mind that at all!
There are less animatronics in the Ice Age room but the giant ice wall CHANGES COLORS during the meteor showers! (that occur every.. 15 minutes?) That totally makes up for it.
We were both so excited to be here!
Let the adventure begin!
