OK, Champagne Girls is ON!!!
Happy Goofy, sounds like you're an experienced
DCL CG...
FYI: Technically, 'Champagne Girls' just means two or more adult (over 21) girls getting together to drink champagne on a DCL cruise. It started a few years ago on DIS and the tradition just keeps evolving.
It can be hugely complicated, like arranging for a room and paying for tastings OR very simple, like a meeting in a lounge and ordering (or bringing) any beverage you like, alcoholic or not. The only requirement is to enjoy each other's company and have fun. A gathering usually last about an hour or so. For example, on the 2010 WBTA, we had over 40 ladies who each brought their own bottle of champagne; on the NYC-Canda cruise we had about 12 ladies who each ordered whatever they wanted from the bar.
One tradition that marks the gathering as a true 'Champagne Girls' meet is that everyone wears pink and, if they want, a pink feather boa and a tiara. I spare no expense and wear a fabulous fun foam crown I bought at Michael's for $1. Crazy, yes. Fun, for sure. The other tradition is to take a great group picture.
I suggest that we keep it simple:
--All over 21 ladies welcome but adults only. I'll keep a running count of interested ladies.
--Let's plan on the afternoon of second day at sea (Day 4, May 9) at 3:00 pm in the Promenade Lounge. This timing allows everyone to get to know each other early in the cruise.
--Everyone can plan on bringing a drink (bottle?) with them OR ordering from the bar in the lounge. Feel free to bring or order non-alcoholic drinks. 'Champagne Girls' is a state of mind...
--Pack something pink to wear, along with your pink boa and tiara (readily available cheaply online or at places like Michael's, AC Moore, or Total Crafts).
**Please post this info on the first page of this thread and on Facebook (I haven't made it over there yet)...
