I think we we were speaking with this same CM the day we were waiting to get in for our breakfast with Donald. She was very friendly and we had a great conversation. If it is the same one, she told us her daughter was responsible for all the trading pins at WDW.

She was really nice. The kids had fun with her!

How fun! We got to open MGM in 2005, but we didn't get to wear snazzy shirts like that! LOL

Ok, I have to ask about Poutine (sp?).

By gravy, do you mean thickened meat juices, or is gravy a code name for something else?

And, what the heck in cheese curds?

I grew up in a German community here in Michigan, and we didn't have anything like that.
Plenty of sauerkraut (yum), and pig's feet (nasty), but no poutine.

Love german food!

Gravy is just that - gravy! Cheese curds...well....don't know how to explain then but lots of places just use crumbled mozzarella. Similar effect but not quite the same.

Quebec has traditional french canadian food like tourtiere and the east coast I think we are going back to lobster!

You guys have tortolini up there also, i love that stuff.

Just major highways. There are a couple in each province. More in some then others.

Royal Winnipeg Ballet is a dance school where the kids live on campus and take school on a modified schedule to allow for the dance training. They are one of the best known professional ballet schools in ther world. She will just go for the summer and come home though. She could stay until she graduates but I'm not willing to let her do that.


Okay, so you have us on Disney but other then that......

That is really cool, you should let her go there, then maybe she would be a dancer in WDW when she gets older, then you get in free...do it do it.

I was right along with many others, they opened the park.

Gravy is just that - gravy! Cheese curds...well....don't know how to explain then but lots of places just use crumbled mozzarella. Similar effect but not quite the same.

Cheese curds are pretty much what happens if they do not press the cheese together to make it one solid chunk, that is the easy way to put it...theya re awesome, you should try them sometime, fresh are the best, they still have a sqeak to them when you bit into it if you get them within a few hours of being made.

Chapter 11 - It Really Happened!

All right.....you all wore me down....I'll post an update!

When I last left you we were still hanging out by the turnstiles waiting patiently....okay, so it wasn't that patiently....to be let into Animal Kingdom.

The crowds were gathering when we saw them....

You know who I'm talking about....

The CMs in the khaki shorts and light blue shirts with the black bags over their shoulders!

And the best news is they were heading our way!

"Would your girls like to open the park?"

"You bet your booty they would!"



They took us around and through a different entrance. Another pushy lady tried to push her kids through with ours but the CM had our backs. "Sorry - only this family".

The lady was ticked.

Which made it even better!



Took the kids inside and got them dressed into their official CM gear.....

Look at mommy girls!

This makes it official!

Tink - are you ready?

Belle - you ready too?

Got them out infront of the waiting crowd.....

Then it was time for the countdown.....three.....two....one!

Ah yes....this day was looking up!

and i also missed post #1500! congrats girl!! you and ddad seemed to have hit milestones at the same time


anyways, that is AWESOME that your girls got to help open the park. They will remember that forever!!!! And so will you. I love magical moments at disney like that. They give me chills.

I am sad to inform you all that Trentmom (aka Sharky) has been banned from the DIS boards by the moderators here. she tried to log on this afternoon and got a message saying that she had been banned for posting porn. She is very confused because she would NEVER do anything like that!! She has no clue as to what they are talking about. So, she emailed the moderators trying to figure out what in the world is going on. She still hasn't gotten a response back.

She wanted me to let you all know what was going on.

Hey Meri! No, they didn't get to keep them but it was fun while it lasted. THey did get "honorary citizen" buttons to wear for the rest of the day though!
