The Trip Chapter 9 - Food!
The bridge to no where.

This is the coolest picture i have seen today. well maybe in the last few weeks. I never thought of taking a picture on the ground like that, i will have to start doing that stuff. I wonder some day if they are going to finish up the POP resort on the other side of the bridge, how many of the buildings were done when you guys were there. In 2005, they had 2 of the them done without the decorations. Just wondering what it looked like when you went?

Also is it just me, or does Auroragula, or whatever that princesss name is always look kinda weird. FOr some reason to me she never really looks like a princess. Maybe it is because i do not like sleeping beauty or something but i think they need to cut her out of the lineup.

Headed out and took the morning photos of the girls just in case they go missing I can show a CM exactly what they were wearing and how they looked today.

And then it happened! It really happened!

that is a great idea, i am going to do that when we have kids, i should do that for DW, might need to get her back if i lose her in the parks too.

I know what happened, you guys were chosen to open the park, and they were honorary CM's for the day.

Now what do i win.

and then you were able to go on a ride first for opening the park, and you chose everest.

Chapter 10 - Day 2, Bet You Never Thought We'd Get here!

Finally day 2!

Sorry this is moving slowly.

Thanks for sticking with me, I'm enjoying remembering every little detail and this is a great way for me to extend my holiday since there isn't another trip anywhere on the radar.

We had Mickey and Stitch call us nice and early so we could get an early start at EMH at AK this morning.

Flew out of bed again and had to grab the camera before I headed into the shower. They were just too cute!

While the family was getting ready I grabbed the mugs and headed off for coffee (if you can even call it that) and breakfast for the troops. Brought it back up to the room so they could eat up there this morning.

Last time I did that.

Seems while I was getting breakie, Belle was having a fit about her clothes. "Too baby-ish" was the whine of the day. Get over it. That's what you are wearing! Mean mommy was returning quickly! Told her that I had heard enough and handed her breakfast.

Who can guess what happens next?

Any mother can.

She "accidently" dumped her food all over the shirt that was the problem.

GRrrrrrr......

Now what should I do. I don't know. I'm torn. She did it on purpose so she wouldn't have to wear it so I should still make her wear the dirty shirt but on the other hand all the photos for the day will be ruined. Decisions, decisions.....

"Change your shirt but sorry to say it but that is all you have for breakfast. You can try again at lunch to eat."

"But Mommmmm....."

Had a great weekend...we finished up our baby registration.

I think Lessa helped you out with that! Food kind of depends on where in the country you live. Out here on the west coast there is a lot of seafood and asian inspired cuisine. Quebec has traditional french canadian food like tourtiere and the east coast I think we are going back to lobster!

Well we have the beaver tail and lots of people up here are partial to poutine. Oh yeah and some like to put mayo and vinegar on their french fries.

Mayo is good - a heart attack on a plate! Vinegar is a no-no!

That was the day that my boss was in seattle to go on a cruise up to alaska. I think alot of them take off around then.

Just major highways. There are a couple in each province. More in some then others.

I like mayo on fries, and malt vinegar, it is very good, started doing that at an amusment park in Ohio...Cedar Point.

A beaver tail is a dessert made of fried dough rolled in cinnamon and sugar. They used to sell them at Epcot.

Poutine is french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. I am not a big fan of it myself but it is very popular up here.

Congrats on your daughter getting into that school, i am going to ask, and even if you already said and i missed it somewhere in the shuffle, i am sure you are going to be the proud mom and dont mind to share again, but what exactly is that she got into.

Is it like those schools where you go and that is your school and you dance. Or is it a production where she will go and just put on a show, then come home after that?

Royal Winnipeg Ballet is a dance school where the kids live on campus and take school on a modified schedule to allow for the dance training. They are one of the best known professional ballet schools in ther world. She will just go for the summer and come home though. She could stay until she graduates but I'm not willing to let her do that.

Yes it does.

I've had elephant ears, they are slightly different. You can also get other toppings on a beaver tail but the cinnamon and sugar is the basic one.

I think that Pinnochio's in the MK sells something like poutine. It is called Figaro fries.

I guess the love of poutine must be a cultural thing. Most people I know love it, not me though. I believe that poutine originated in Quebec (the french province) and then spread across the rest of the country.
