Nothing so-called about "foundation" members. It is REAL. Besides, a good "foundation" is the basis of all good things....real or otherwise.

The November 2014 DisMeet (Melbourne Chapter) - For Real



After the Virtual DisMeet and me missing the last 3D one, it was with relief that I got to attend yet another Melbourne DisMeet - for REAL!
As with any date, we did have a few last minute cancellations. Hopefully everyone is feeling better and we hope to catch you all next time.


Fairy Floss was present. It was fantastic to hear about all her recent trips. She really had stacked a few trips in a very short period of time!







Mr Fairy Floss also made an appearance. Its been a while since he's attended a DisMeet and I hope he decides to make a more regular appearance from here on end. It makes for much more "perky" discussions.






I'm SURE I took a picture of both MinnieMum's and RobynRainer's dinner. But for some reason, there was only this one in my camera. My old fogie memory is such that I can't remember who's this was. But I suspect it was RobynRainer's dinner.







That would mean that MinnieMum gets to keep her record of being off-side from the camera angle. I really don't know how she does it! I was SURE I grabbed her food porn. Hmmm.....maybe I was too busy eating when she got back to the table with her dish.
(Well, I'm obviously going to have to do better next time!)



Zaccy and I decided that we were NOT going to have order envy. So we shared our dishes. Half of this was mine, half was hers. You can decide which half was which.







Likewise with this Char Kaoy Teow. It was split down the middle.







Zanzibar also ordered the CKT. No order envy for her, either.


In keeping with tradition, we did try and grab a picture of all attendees. I handed the camera over and 'someone else' took this picture.







I guess it puts to bed any discussions the Melbourne Dis-chapter might have about "foundation" members. Afterall, who am I to argue with the picture, right? We might have missed the group shot but the key 'foundation' people were captured in-shot.



As always, the discussion was sparkling champagne, chocolate box and fruity. We had a great time catching up on the last round of vacations and talking about the next round of vacations.






We also caught up on our lives, pleasures, trials and tribulations. Life is not always strawberry cupcake and coffee, but it is nice to be able to verbalise and share it with like minded friends.








As always, it was a fantastic catch-up. Thanks everyone. See you all at the next one.

She did have a record of the Virtual DisMeet in September and asked me to post this for her. I think the Zaccy Virtual DisMeet takes the cake!!!

It was the chicken curry rice (it might have been listed as the nasi ayam curry or something similar on the menu board). The curry was mild to my tastes but it was pretty good.

Minniemumma and I are spewing we couldn't make it (no pun intended) but my precious little princess niece was hit with the tummy bug going around. She's still not eating much, and the poor little thing was pretty sick with it, but she's on the mend and we are keen for the next 3D catch up!!

Would you believe this is the first time I've logged into the Disboards since coming home almost a month ago? That mayyyy have something to do with planning a Disneyland, WDW, Universal Hollywood and Orlando trip for later in the year....

Anyway, I couldn't drop in without checking on the Melbourne thread. I miss my planning buddies! When is the next meetup??

I just got back from my trip about 3 weeks ago, which strangely enough held the same destinations as yours.

Now I am looking towards the Non-US parks for this years trip

Fi, how exciting that you have another trip in the works already! I can talk all day about Disneyland - you'll get lots of advice from me whether you want it or not

Yoyo, would love to see you at the next meet, whenever it may be.

Like PIO, I'm pretty sure we agreed on a tentative date for the next one. I don't think I wrote it down and of course I have now forgotten it. I'm pretty much free whenever, except for 22nd Feb, which is my next 10k event.
