We tried Sanaa for dinner for the first time on our trip two weeks ago and will definitely be back.
We started with the bread service (definitely go for the nine dips...it's only $2.00 more and even though you likely won't like them all, it's a fun appetizer) and a salad trio, splitting both between the five of us. For the bread choices, we LOVED the Garlic Ginger Naan and we also though papadum was a good choice in that it's crispy as opposed to soft and you could break it up a little easier to dip more! For the salad trio, we really liked the chickpea with watermelon and tomato and the watermelon, cucumber, and fennel salads.
On a side note, does anyone know if you can order extra bread?
For dinner, I had the sustainable fish meal which was good, but not fantastic. Still, I wouldn't be opposed to getting it again. The sauce over top of it was great.
We also had a Tandoori Chicken meal which, despite what some say above, did have a slightly "spicy" sauce. I personally had no problem with it, nor did anyone else in our party except my mom...the very person who ordered it! The chicken itself and the rice that accompanies it are not spicy, but the sauce does have a slight kick. That said, this would be the meal I get when we come back.
The rest of the group chose the "slow cooked in gravy" duos and they were mixes of butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, beef short rib, shrimp in green curry sauce, and spicy durban shrimp. The beef short rib was the favorite, followed by the butter chicken. I personally thought the shrimp in green curry sauce was excellent, but I'm a fan of curry in general.
Sanaa was our first meal we had on our trip and it's absolutely a place we'll go back to. Seeing as how we own at AKL-KV, I don't know how we've skipped this, but I'll be heading back to the bar for that bread service!
