Good luck with the marathon! What a great idea for a present. I know my DF would love it! We have one cat already (a tonkinese) but he is always saying he wants another one (or three!).

I love the ties, what a great idea! It will give the groom and groomsmen something that will make them look unique on your wedding day! Good luck running the marathon also!

So I've been looking around for last minute wedding stuff for myself and I keep finding pics that I think you would like:

Thank you all for your support for my run! It's frightening but exciting and I really can't wait to go to Disney.

Sarah, Tonkineses are super cute!! Haha, we realized the ragamuffins won't be ready when we want to move in, and we don't want our cat, who has never lived alone, get used to being an only kitty, so we're going to get another kitten (adopting) and then get the ragamuffin when its ready...so 3 cats. And we almost got one from petsmart the other day. :confused3

:thumbsup2 Those are awesome Becky!! I love the tie! We're either going to do the snowglobes if we can, or go really simple (i.e. CHEAP) but I love the fall theming. I think we're going to go for a star, starry night theme, for today at least.

I finally booked my hair with Patricia, and we made our reservations (for hotel and food popcorn::) for the planning session. My mom's friend is a DVC member and isn't really going to use her points, so she's letting us rent them and it's going to cost us $900 for 5 days at a preferred view 1-bedroom at the Boardwalk, for the 5 of us (my dad will be joining us mid-trip) although I'm trying to get 2 studios instead for some privacy ;)

On the wedding day front, I'm still looking at bridal headbands. I'm totally in love with Maria Elena pieces but I'm not willing to pay that much, so either we're going with what I've found at etsy or actually alchemy a headband using pictures of the beading on my dress so it's more custom. Any opinions?

yay for getting Patricia!! I keep hearing wonderful things about her, I'm glad she was available for your day.

The headbands you posted are gorgeous - are they both Maria Elena? I'm not familiar with her, but they are lovely. I think that the headbands you posted earlier from Etsy are really great and would be a wonderful alternative to spending SO much on the Maria pieces. I think if you could get an Etsy seller to custom you a headband based on the beading on your dress, that would be perfect! I would go for that option.

I'm really glad I went with Patricia. I just like her style more.

The 2 headbands I posted are from etsy! Maria Elena headpieces are sold only at boutiques and featured on that show Say Yes to the Dress, because they sell them at Kleinfields. I like the custom option, but I'm nervous because I went with the custom route for a garter and already had to send it back because it was not what I wanted at all or what I asked for.

yeah for getting patricia.... I think you will be happy with her. :goodvibes

I'm so excited about it.

So I'm currently in Disney!!! Flew in late last night and we had quite a busy day. Started at DHS then went to the expo then AK and Epcot and we even called in for an early night. Got to get ready to storm the castle!! And I can't wait to see LSS on Monday. Don't worry I'll take lots of pictures and I'm already taking food porn pics. gotta get a good night sleep 3 am wake up call

aww, so you get two new cats? That's great! Lol, yes tonkinese are cute, and they seem to know it too! They are very active and very curious though but so sweet and cuddly too. My mom's cousin has ragamuffins and she loves them. I've only seen pictures but they look beautiful.

We love cats and DF would have 10 of them if I let him. He even said he wants to breed tonkinese but I said it wouldn't be a very good idea since he'd never want to sell any of them and we'd just have a ton of cats! :lmao:

Have a great time in Disney and can't wait to see the pics when you get back! :goodvibes

Hey Sam! Hope you had fun in Disney and running the marathon! you will not be disappointed with Patricia-she is AWESOME!

We are definitely going to have a zoo too. DF even wants an octopus! :scared1:

Hey lady are you back yet?

I am. I know, I stink.
Hey Sam! Hope you had fun in Disney and running the marathon! you will not be disappointed with Patricia-she is AWESOME!

I'm excited to be going with Patricia too. I hope she can do the style I want...and I hope it looks good on me.

So yes, it's been over a week and I haven't posted. I kinda have a case of the blahs. I don't know, I feel like this trip was underwhelming...or overwhelming, I can't decide. It was stressful in the sense that we left straight from work, came home at 11:30 PM, and then went to work the next day, so there was no down time. Oh plus finishing a marathon! :scared1:

So we flew in, security was super easy considering we flew out of Newark and there was all that stress about the underpants bomber and security took under 15 minutes. So we had a lot of time to wait for the plane, ate at this crappy restaurant where my salad consisted of bacon, bacon, and bacon. Oh and a few pieces of lettuce. Anyway we got in, got on the ME lickity split, and dropped off right the Polynesian. It seems to be the first stop on a lot of trips.

We LOVE :lovestruc the Polynesian. I'm a convert. While it was confusing to find our room at midnight, but we did and it was a decent room. Out our balcony and turning right we could kinda see the castle through the trees.

Saturday was an early start to do DHS early morning hours and keep us on that early morning schedule (late arrival + early morning = TIRED!) We got on everything we wanted to, then headed to the Expo to pick up our race packet. It was SOOOOO crowded and all the merchandise (or most of it) was aimed at the Goofy crowd, which seemed to be a theme. I wish we had spent more time and picked up some items but we were hungry (thank heaven for those clif bar samples. :worship:) Then we headed to the Contemporary for some lunch and then onto Epcot and back in for an early night. We knew we'd have an early morning.

Flash forward to 3 am wake up call, being so out of it I forgot to put on new underpants :cool1: and 5 layers of clothing (it was 25 degrees ) Then our race. First 10 miles went well. Got chatty with the guy next to me and it was easy goings....going down Main Street then the Castle was awesome. Lost the guy at the bathrooms in Tomorrowland, and sadly realized a banana was not enough food. Got lightheaded and kept on looking for food stops...not to mile 14. :scared1: So I walked some more...and more...and more....Once I got some food I picked up more, but hips started hurting and I just didn't have the motivation. At the 1/2 point I felt good...Like I could stop, but oh wait I didn't sign up for the half, I signed up for the full. Silly me! First race ever...longest run 7 miles and I'm in the 26.2 race. :confused3 Anyway, after more walker, less runner I finished in 6:17. Slow, I'm not too proud but I finished. As I went through the last mile in Epcot another runner stopped and got a Turkey Leg! :lmao: Oh, and my foot started killing me that night and for the whole rest of the trip I hurt a LOT. So come home to the podiatrist...I stress fractured my cuneiform (one of the big chunky bones, very rare) Getting my boot tomorrow.

Anyway, for the rest of the trip it was a mix of happiness, pain, and just a sense of blah. I saw all these people who ran the goofy and I was like hey! Can't I be proud of my mere marathon (btw I'm a super competitive person, can you tell? :goodvibes) Not really, it was mostly the pain and the freezing cold weather and the post running nausea. Yeah, my trip that I had planned and spent months planning ADRs...we kept 1 of them.

Monday we went to Franck's and met Pam and saw the LSS and Japan. LOVED THEM! It's so much better seeing them in person and the koi pond now has a stupid tree planted right in the middle of where seating would be! So we're probably going to do the entrance by the koi pond but actually have the wedding by the arch/gate where you can see the globe in the background. She also mention the scuba wedding...very tempting but I don't think this. And I took almost no pictures. They don't do it justice and I have the ones my mom took. I did take a sample of the blue table cloth that you see under the overlay and it's really nice! The overlay is ugly but the blue under one is lovely. And I took some pics at Francks. BTW the fountain in front of it had icicles on it! It was so cold.

Then we did the parks, and putzed around on Tuesday, rushing around to the parks but they got crowded and we didn't really go on any rides except earlier in the day at MK. But on one of those bus rides I'm fairly certain I saw DisBrideToni on her cell phone at the bus stop at the Contemporary...wearing the gray Mickey floral fleece. (I'm not a stalker )

Then it was back to work. :( I've just got a case of the blahs. It seems so real now. I'm getting nervous about moving out, and being an "adult"...bills...the stresses...etc. Just growing up. I'm not nervous about being with Mike, just being with Mike, on our own. That's just how I feel. My foot hurts :( I've never done more than breaking a toe and I'm going to have to wear a boot! School is in the midterm phase, so my students just have a test, and then review, and then a week of midterms so that's blah, and I can't believe I'm going to say this but I felt that way at Disney. I'm not sure if it was me, or the weather, or what, but it just wasn't that magical feeling, even during the race I just expected more. :wizard: I'm sure things will pick up.

Welcome back Sam. I'm sorry to hear about your foot, and I hope it feels better. That is awesome that you finished the marathon. I could not imagine running/walking that long! Sorry it was cold on your trip. I was in Universal last year and it was freezing, and it just kind of made the trip blah (luckily we went on a Disney cruise too, and the weather was better.) I'm glad to hear you liked LSS and Japan. I'm sure moving in with Mike will be very exciting! Hope you feel better soon!

Oh, I hope your "blahs" go away soon!

Congrats on doing a marathon, that is amazing! I'm sorry to hear about your foot though. Try and turn your nervousness about moving in together into excitement. I lived with 3 girls for 4 years during university, and I thought nothing could get better, but living with DF these past 3 years have been so fun! I think living with a guy is wayyyy better now!

I;m glad to hear you still love your venues....I definitely cannot wait to see your pics! Don't worry to much about not having the "magical" feeling, I'm sure it will come back for your wedding!

Well done on running the marathon. Sorry about your foot though.

It was probably a case of you'd hyped the trip it so much and then what with the weather it all just got you down a bit, that happens to me a lot.

How was the food tasting?

Congrats on finishing the marathon! A former co-worker of mine gave up by 9am, but she hadn't trained at all. I know it was a crazy cold weekend.

I'm sorry you have the blah's, I think we all get them at some point. Maybe take a break from planning and researching both the wedding and the parks and then you'll get super excited once you start browsing the web for suggestions again. I know I get burned out on Disney a lot (no big shocker since I live here lol) but I still have moments where I want to read a Disney book or go just experience the parks. I think it also helps if you don't plan too much, that way you wont feel bummed if you miss your ADRs.
I'm sure you will rise out of your funk soon. Maybe there are some baby steps you can take to your big move into the 'adult' world. Is it possible to move out before the wedding? Start transferring bills into both your names, merge bank accounts/credit cards etc.?

I'm glad you loved your venues though! I think you made some great choices with them!

Thanks Amy. I did really like the LSS. It's so beautiful.

I'm not worried about living with him. Whenever it's just the 2 of us, we also work really well. It's just the other stresses that are starting to get to me...:confused3

I agree about the overhyping. I'm so nervous about doing that for the wedding...I do have a tendency to do so. I just need to remember to be cool and stay calm. :cool1:

Thanks Becky. That does make me feel better that I did not quit. Maybe i do need to take a little break. But honestly, just putting it out there made me feel somewhat better.

As for my foot...I didn't stress fracture it, I broke it! :scared1: 8 weeks AT LEAST in the air cast, possibly crutches. Doc doesn't want me driving...yea not happening. :rotfl: So now I feel better that I finished a marathon, with a broken foot.

Poor Sam she finished a marathon and it wasn't fast enough for her but, oh yeah, SHE HAD A BROKEN FOOT!!!

What the.... I have no words for you Hun!

Haha I am pretty awesome. Aren't I? :lmao:

This stupid aircast is huge!!! Honestly I had no idea my foot was broken. Everything else hurt on me: my hips ankles shins. No foot pain so I really had no idea it was broken until the next day when hobbling around epcot grimacing. If I would have I probably would have stopped...probably
