Random things at Disney that bring tears to your eyes?

Well, we've only been once. Here is a partial list of the things that choked me up...

My 11 year old son buying my 8 year old daughter a stuffed animal she wanted but didn't have money for, and handing it to her while saying "After all, this is the place where dreams come true."

Okay just reading what your son did is making me tear up!! How sweet. sounds like you a raising a great young man

On our trip in June we went to see the Princesses immediately after the BBB. My youngest princess was so excited to see Cinderella who she was dressed like. Cinderella made a big fuss over her and right as we were leaving she bent down and lovingly kissed her on the foreheard. The Photopass Photographer caught the moment. I'll never forget it! My dd said it was the best day of her life!

Walking down Main Street USA, the smell of the bakery and the castle in front of me.

Watching wishes, I start tearing up but start crying when Tink flies.

When I hear Jiminy Cricket talk during wishes.

I cried when my DS's face lit up at CP breakfast.

I'm crying now reading the post from all of you

These are all great! One thing that always gets me - it's more of a goosebump thing - but when the lights are "blown out" at the start of Illuminations!! And watching Wishes for the first time during our trip.

My DD and I were talking while driving in the car yesterday. She's my sensitive child and is very quick to tears if she gets hurt, is embarrased, loses something etc. So she said "mom when we go to Disney I'm not even going to cry once - because its supposed to be a happy place. But I might have tears of joy"

No but seriously for me it was always Spectro. Our first trip Spectro got to me. That was the first time I experienced magic as an adult. It makes me cry everytime.

I hate that its gone but am hoping I have the same reaction towards MSEP.

Seeing dd check herself out as a mouse after her first haircut

The Lion King show, when they sing the Circle of Life. I also cry durring parts of the Little Mermaid show and Beauty and the Beast. I have memories of taking my young neice to all of those era movies. She passed away suddenly (& unexpectedly) when she was only 18, a few years ago. My brother and sister in law were left childless. I could go on... very sad.

i bought the CD at the departure as we were leaving- unbelievable...

mine- watching a 30YO-something woman, a little ragged from the day at the MK, holding a Disney gift bag as well as a bag of blue cotton candy in her left hand, wearing the traditional WDW/Mickey hat with the ears on her head and giving a crisp military salute as they lowered the flag during the flag retreat ceremony while we were there...

also sitting behind my daughter during Wishes and watching her reaction...

When I was a girl, my folks always had us walk past the statue of Mickey and Walt on our last day to say thank you. I have my girls do that now and bawl like a baby.

Well, for me it was always watching my kids watch the parade in MK. Something about the LOVE they had for the characters as they passed, waving and calling to them just did it to me every time. They're 15 & 18 and although they both still love to go, those magic moments have sadly passed for us.

for whatever reason, the part in wishes where the characters all say their wishes makes me cry every single time..as soon as aladdin starts to say "genie..." i lose it

As a 42 year former football I will never admit out loud....oh BS it is Disney......

Anything special with my son. His joy will get me most times.
My wife....she can get me....it must be a family thing

The rope drop opening for MK is a for sure.
Lion King Show...Can You Feel the Love Tonight is so awesome and gets me every time....

Now I have to find some football or fighting or something on TV....

PS.....we are getting ready for trip number 8 in 2012...what new emotions might there be......

I love so much of Disney, but anything related to Walt really touches me...the partners statue, the trains, etc. I have loved Disney since I was a child, and I was lucky enough to take classes in high school/college with pretty open topics for research papers, etc. that I have studied Walt a lot and feel almost like he is a member of the family. His imagination has brought joy and happy memories to countless people and I love the details that really bring him into the parks.

Moonpie, can I ask if your adoption celebration is for your DS?

Mine was sitting with my DD a couple of years ago on her first trip to WDW, 5 years old. We went to DTD the first night for dinner and she was so excited because she want to tell her teacher that she made it Disney, on her first try!

Ok... I, too, am all choked up and crying now. I love that I'm not alone in my feelings for Disney! The things that get me crying are:
The Big White Mickey Hand Gloves the CMs use at the airport.
The Statue of Walt and Mickey and the statue of Roy and Minnie (that one really gets me for some reason... I think it is the look on Minnie's face.)
Wishes
Lady's and The Tramp's Footprints outside Tony's... can't really explain that one.
Illuminations
Fantasmic (I love the beginning when the lights kinda strobe... and when the princesses go by I lose it completely)
One Man's Dream... truly, I'm an sniveling, embarrassing, mess in there.
FOTLK: I especially love the aerialists... don't know why but they really get the tears flowing
When my DH takes my hand as we walk down Main Street and gives me this look... a look that tells me how happy he is...then when I cry he holds me and tells me it is OK cause I'm his princess!

So glad to know I'm not the only one taking tissues to Wishes - I could see Wishes every night and still cry each and every time.

Some others -

• Watching my Goddaughter, who's now into her teens, wave to parade characters with the excitement she's had since she was three!
• The Castle's Kiss Goodnight - more tissues, but less people to notice!
• When my nieces share their "extra" glow-sticks with other children while waiting for MSEP (although we all miss Spectro Magic).
• The Electric Water Pageant.

As another poster said, thank you! I am so going to start this tradition as well.

I've got to say I'm a cryer by nature but I know I am in for it when we take my son for the first time -- I am going to be a MESS at every "first" he does -- from walking on the ME -- to buying his Mickey ears on Main St to having him meet the Big Cheese -- all of it and I know my husband is going to get choked up (heck I'm getting choked up typing this)

I have to remember to wear my sunglasses out of the airport on that first day -- I am going to be embarrassing, either that or ask my Dr for a prescription of xanax LOL
