"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Loved our party night! We went on nov 17 and it was awesome! We walked on pretty well any ride we wanted too and the character lines were pretty short, too. I think I would consider doing 2 parties next time because we just couldn't fit it all in! The parade was amazing but we missed the fireworks waiting to see captain Jack. A few highlights...

Well, if that's the case, that would pretty much defeat the purpose of getting the one-day MM in the first place. :worried: Thanks for the heads up.

I think I'll make a separate thread, since this is getting beyond the scope of just the Xmas Party.
I wonder if they'd let you simply show your receipt at the MK castle location and get the pictures done there. You could always call and ask just to see.

I went to the party on November 17 and was also very impressed with the cast members escorting everyone out. I was at the first MNSSHP (the disaster) and was worried about attending this party. We were in the hub at 7 pm and everyone was sitting down waiting for the first show when several cast members starting walking through/around the crowd. Several people around us pretended they disinterested understand English, but they hauled them up and out regardless. Much more manageable crowds and I was able to move around freely and see all shows/parades/fireworks with very good viewing positions.

I'm sorry because I know this has been asked but for some reason I can't find the info again...where do we pick up our wristbands? We are already going to be in the park prior to 4pm, do we just walk back to the front gate to get our wristband as party time approaches? Thanks for your patience!

We went from AKL Jambo house on a Tues night and ordered a Lyft (or Uber?) which dropped us off at TTC and we took the ferry over. It was our first time going to MK, I didn't want to risk a bus taking forever and the buses we'd seen depart that time of afternoon the day before were PACKED... and I had zero regrets. No idea if we saved or lost any time but the trip was kind of relaxing. I DID regret riding the bus back that night! It was just before midnight and as I'm sure you're aware it was a solid 25min ride with everyone packed in like sardines and I was beginning to get motion sick (I'm super sensitive) by the time I got back to AKL- never again will I bus between MK and AKL if I return someday.
I'm trying to decide whether to ride the bus or drive when we come from Pop Century. On the one hand it would nice to not worry about driving so late but then again it might take forever to get a bus. I wonder if staying at the party until late helps?

I'm late but I attended the Tues party on Nov 10. It was not sold out, we felt we got to do tons of rides. Our only days at the World were Mon and Tues for doing Epcot Food and Wine and then we threw in MVMCP so we could see MK on Tues night. Our goals were: rides, more rides and shopping. I'll bullet point the highlights!
  • Arrived MK 4:15pm did our FPs: 3:30-4:30 Pirates, 4:30-5:30 Peter Pan, 5:30-6:30 Haunted Mansion. Worked great, FPs were all loaded on our magic bands as were our party tickets (but I had brought our emailed paper tickets just in case there were problems but there weren't!)
  • Also Tiki room, IASW, Mickey's Philharmagic before 7pm
  • Be Our Guest at 7:15pm: my dream restaurant and it was decorated for Christmas!! Tree, garland, I'll try to post a pic. We only did drinks & dessert then took pics at the tree and wandered around the castle, met the Beast with no line, it was AMAZING, no regrets there even though it took party time. Seriously how can a Beauty and the Beast lover regret having the Grey Stuff with a glass of champagne? I felt like I was being pixie dusted the entire time pixiedust:
  • Wristbands/non-party guests: I've seen this mentioned a couple times, my experience- the park seemed packed to the gills in the time leading up to the party, by the time we came out of BOG (around 8pm) everyone non-party had cleared out & our wristbands were checked upon exiting BOG. It seemed practically deserted back in New Fantasyland! They had CMs outside BOG to escort any exiting guests who did not have party wristbands. I never noticed guests without bands the rest of the night.
  • 8pm-10:45pm: Checked out Gaston's Tavern and the Beauty and the Beast shop, rode Tea cups, Space (3 times), People Mover (because if you ride Space 3 times you'll be pretty sure the people mover is the best most relaxing ride ever), Buzz, fireworks were watched from back of park near Gaston's tavern, Haunted Mansion, Runaway Train, Jingle Cruise, Pirates. Most everything was walk-on, I think we waited 5 mins at the Teacups and was our longest wait during MVMCP.
  • 10:45pm onward: browsed Main St for shopping, caught glimpses of parade from the shops, grabbed some Starbucks, saw LOTS of snow fall on Main St while there and it was still falling when left around 11:30pm
  • *Tip* climb up Main St's train station before you leave at night for a beautiful view of all the Christmas cheer, from the tree to the Castle (and the tree was up btw, people had said they didn't think it would be up by the 10th due to parade taping or something but there was a big 'ol xmas tree right there at the entrance to Main St). This is also a great spot for pictures with the tree and castle in the background. I'll try to post a pic of the view from here. The train was down so the station was empty.
  • Value: there is a lot of discussion if the price of the party is worth it. IMHO it depends on everyone's individual situation. It was 100% worth it to us. We only had 2 days for WDW and while we were beyond exhausted after Sat at Seaworld, Sun at Universal and Mon-Tues at F&W, MVMCP is what I remember as being the most "magical" part of our trip. Otherwise we would have skipped MK entirely and I know we would have regretted it (at least I would have, as a Disneyland vet I was very curious about MK).
  • This was a girls trip for 2 young adults and we had a blast, the party is totally for all ages!
Beautiful pictures!! We will be there 2 weeks from tonight, cannot wait!!!!

They put them on you as you walk through the gates. We scanned our magic bands, took about five steps, then we were "banded".

I concur that they were herding non-party guests out. We were in line for mine train and the couple ahead of us didn't have bands. Once they got to the final attendant before getting us on the ride, he asked them if they were attending the party. They appeared not to speak English, so he tried in Spanish. Once it was determined that they weren't there for the party, he made a call on a phone at his station. Then he allowed them on the ride, but there was an escort waiting for them at the end to escort them out of the park.

We were checked for bands numerous times. There were a lot of CM's dedicated to this task.

When I was there on Tuesday, there were at least 2 spots where they were handing out bands to those already in the park: next to the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor in Tomorrowland and by Fantasy Faire in Fantasyland. Lines started forming at about 3:30.

How have the wait times been for the 7 Dwarfs? For those of you who have attended the party recently, I would love to see information on what time you lined up and how long you had to wait. Also, if you had a CM take pictures with an iPhone, any advice on phone settings for the nighttime pictures?
Posting again to see if anyone can share recent information on a photo op with the Dwarfs. I'm hoping to catch them as well as Mary, Bert and the Penguins!

Up late? Meet Starbucks! ;) ...If you want to stay awake for the next 3 hours anyway. I don't think we waited more than 10 mins for our bus to AKL, one pulled away right as we got there but I think the next one arrived within 10 mins. It was more the distance out to AKL for me that was ick.

We attended on 11/12 and the wait was about 40 minutes at around 7:00 (maybe a bit after). I can't tell you about the iPhone settings, sorry.

And if you are already in the parks, don't go stand in line unless you absolutely have to due to your other plans. We walked by the Tomorrowland line early on our way to ride Buzz. Then we rode PeopleMover and something else. We walked back by and there were 5 people in line, so we walked right up and got our party bands without wasting time standing in line! That was well before 7p

I should have read back on the thread here before going. We only saw peter pan/wendy outside. We couldn't find the dwarfs or any other characters. I guess we're just dense. We were at the pooh ride/mine ride area. Didn't see em. The map they handed out had black mickey heads, but didn't seem to mention who was where. And we didn't actually look at the maps until the next day. It was dark. Thought we'd see wondering around, but didn't. Didn't see the stage show which sounded good. We could hear it. That seemed way better than the parade. And got crowded out last minute at the parade after waiting almost 2 hours in the handicapped area.

I'm such a dweeb. I missed the snow too. Did see the fireworks on the bridge in or near frontierland. That was beyond great. I don't know that I can talk my dh into going back next year. My sons deserve a better mother, LOL! I thought I could handle it, but couldn't. We don't usually go at night. So that threw us off I think.

We did find the apple slices/cookies/cocoa/apple juice/cider.

We went last night. Lines were so short for rides, it was awesome. Fireworks were great and we were not crammed in as I assume any other night you would be. Watched the 2nd parade from frontier land got a great spot 20 minutes before it started then as soon as it was over we cut through adventure land and the huge store on Main Street to zoom right past the end of parade and crowds and got right on monorail.

Totally disappointed in the rain though! Nothing you can do but really bummed bc it made my one kid miserable and my dh had to take her back to hotel before the parade. The tomorrowland show was cancelled due to the weather, my kids would've liked that. And i didn't see any snow on Main Street bc it was raining I guess they didn't do it, unless they did later on...anyone there last night? Was there ever snow? I was really looking forward to seeing that.

Lines for characters were too long for us since it was raining most of time. We missed our fast passes from 4-6 bc we we're trying to get some where dry and find a place to eat.

Lol, all in all for our family it wasn't a great night...but that's bc of weather and rather inflexible kids.

Only advice is for people with kids to really think about it bc it's a late night. (Esp if there's any rain in forecast!) I tried to let them sleep in and we did Nothing but relax at hotel before going. But they just didn't perform for me!

For anyone with older kids that just want to ride rides, def get tickets!

Question - okay - can I book FPs on a party ticket from 4-6? And how does it know it use the "party ticket" versus another day of the base ticket my traveling companion has? I've been trying to get three in that time frame - but it doesn't seem to let me find any FP time that starts after 5:15. Trying to get something like 5:30-6:30 or 5:45-5:45.

You can't book 3 FPs in a two hour time frame - you can book between 3:30-6:30. The FPs aren't assigned to a specific ticket - you're allowed to book FPs for as many days as you have tickets for.
