So all this talk about pins and discounts and dates and so forth got me thinking if I would be willing to try to change something if our dates ended up not lining up with anything that's offered, I ended up deciding that we should probably just keep things as is regardless, since after all I planned and budgeted assuming we would be paying rack rate.

But in the process, happened to be poking around on the reservation website and discovered that a garden view room at YC was showing as available on 4/25. It hadn't been when I made the reservations earlier, so I had booked that night at AoA instead, technically giving us a split stay. Which was going to be a bit of a pain, though DD was super excited to try out a Lion King Suite. But I convinced her that it was worth it to give that up if it meant not having to check out of the hotel at 7am on our last full day. (Our flight leaves at 8am the next morning, yuck!)

So I was able to get our package extended by 1 night, and cancelled the AoA that night. Now our whole trip 4/18-4/26 will be at YC :cool1: It will definitely make things simpler. Plus we'll have 3 more DxDDP credits to use, which means we will only be 1 short instead of 4.

But part of the deal was that I promised DD we would find a chance sometime next year to do a short stay at AoA, since she has been REALLY excited about the LK suites ever since they were announced. (My parents live in south Florida, so we sometimes make a mini-trip to Disney when we go visit them). Have to figure out when will work best for that. I know we will be there for Thanksgiving next year so that might be an option, hopefully she can wait that long!

This also frees up our last night a little more - I had thought that since we would have just checked into a different hotel we would mostly hang out there after lunch, so we could have some time to explore and swim. But since we're not moving resorts after all, I guess the whole "World" is open to us, so I'll have to figure out how we want to use those last few hours.

And just over 2 weeks until I can make our ADRs - all 20 of them!!!

I had to make the same promise to my little DD as well - she wants to stay in the FN rooms - she saw the bed that folds down from the wall (aka table and chairs) and she was hooked! We stayed in the Nemo rooms at CBR last year and loved it.

I am usually a mod resort person - but being that AoA is new and they are suites I want to try them!

I want to know if while I am there in April they will let me wander the property - I want to see the Cars section - it looks so neat!

Thanks! I am thinking of having it printed on card stock, cutting it out, and using the self sealing laminating tape at Walmart (in the craft section).

Although I may find a different flower - except that it's hibiscus my fav flower. And would look really cute at Ohana's (one of our fav restaurants)....

ADRs made for April 1st (our DHS day) :yay:

Breakfast, Chef Mickey's, 9:50AM (after taking advantage of EMH at DHS)
Dinner, Brown Derby 5:50PM (Dad's favorite)

I have to say, I'm a little surprised that so far almost every ADR time has been available when I checked. I mean Chef Mickey's was wide open on 4/1 for any time, and Narcoossee's was wide open for almost any timeframe on Easter Sunday, even times to coincide with Wishes at 10PM. Hopefully this is a good sign of slightly lower crowds.

Ok, I am thinking someone here will know this......as people are getting pin codes, they are blocking April through the 21st. Arent the crowds supposed to die off by the second week? we are booked 15th-25th and now thinking I may have messed up. Anyone have any idea of why? Is there something I dont know? I find it strange that they include almost all of March though:confused3 Dont care if I get the discount, just dont want crowds to be bad.

They are supposed to and I think they'll end up adding those dates. Although, even if a week is supposed to be "low crowds" (in the grand scheme of things), if a lot of rooms happen to have been already booked, then they have no reason to put out a discount. So all us earlybirds who book at the first possible minute always run the risk of possibly shooting ourselves in the foot as far as discounts go.
All that being said -- I'm pretty confident they'll eventually put out something for that time period.

I'm in for April 20-27th! YAY!!

We're staying at Pop Century from 4/20-4/24 and AoA LM from 424-4/27.

My 8yo son and I compromised. I wanted to stay at AoA LM, but he wasn't thrilled with the Little Mermaid rooms. :)

It will be 7 of us, because we have dh and I and our 3 kids plus my mom and dad. We're getting two rooms. I can't remember - I ask for connecting rooms not adjoining rooms, right?

    *sigh*

Same as last trip.... I keep trying to talk to DH about it - show him the DCL DVDs or stuff on the website; Asking his opinion on character meals or port excursions; Want to show him the video/pics of how awesome AoA looks -- doesn't want to see or talk about ANY of it. He says he wants to be surprised. The kids don't know we're going so can't really talk to them about specifics......Who am I going to talk to for the next 6 months??? :confused3
