I'm going to add my two cents. We have always stayed in our trailer or tent, so we had never walked down Harbor to a hotel until about four years ago. Is it a little jarring to have somebody shaking a jar of coins at you while you are walking? I'll be honest. A little bit when you've just been at the world's happiest place. But for us, who were there with our nephews, it was a great life lesson about how lucky we are to get to go to Disneyland and that we aren't homeless. And we were able to give him some money to make his life a little bit easier. Beyond that, we have stayed at the Carousel Inn and the Ramada and I didn't find either hotel fabulous, but I didn't find them bad, either.
