National Lampoon's Fun w/Dis Friends 2010!! ~ DAY 7-Final :( 6/27

Great Update

The chef at Ohanas sound awesome

Love the dessert he made for your DS :thumbsup2

Love the look on the CM's face who has the spiders. I guess your son just told her about you killing spiders:rotfl2:

Thanks!
He really was. Loved him!!

:rotfl2: Yeah, he had just said it. Luckily she laughed right after that. I'm sure she gets that a lot.

Another great update Cherie!

When we were at 'Ohana last summer we discovered pea pods in amongst the broccoli. My oldest daughter is allergic to peas, so our server brought her her own plate of broccolini from the kitchen for Kona Cafe.

I can't believe you had the same grouchy CM at Dinosaur!. I'm glad that you finally got to ride it though, and that your son made it through pretty well. Good job on giving him a little reward from the gift shop! :thumbsup2

Thanks Glenn!
Oh wow, Ok so that's why he couldn't have our broccoli. Yes, they brought him his own too.
He really liked the Dinosaur ride. I mean, even I was scared the first time I rode it. I think he did super good!
At that moment we decided that from now on when he rides a new ride that we will get him a pin for that ride. He likes that idea. :thumbsup2

Awesome update Cherie !!! I didn't tell Judy and the kids what Dinasuar was like and afterwards they were extremely unhappy with me !!! I however love it !!! Not Rollercoasters but Dinasaur is awesome !!!!

That Chef at the Poly was wonderful!!! I want one of those desserts !!!!

Thanks Rosie!
:lmao: Too funny!! So you scared the carp outta them!
Yes, that dessert looks yummie doesn't it??

AWesome O'hana pictures!!!

Mmmmm, I spy with my little eye a lapu lapu!! YUM!!!!!

I can't go to the Poly without having a lapu lapu!!! :rolleyes1

Yes! Disney IS grand.... and so are your trip reports! I'm glad school is finally over so I can get caught back up on all of my favorite TRs!

The chef at O'Hana sounded amazing.. I hope you and DH get to go back. My favorite thing EVER at O'Hana is the peanut dipping sauce. Were you able to try that yourself? Or did you avoid all peanut-ty things? The dessert looked great too!

Can't believe those folks were stuck on EE that long! Can you imagine if your DH was stuck that whole time? UGH!!

Love HDD review! We went for our 1st time over Spring Break and just LOVED it!! Such a fun atmosphere. Just wish the tickets were a bit cheaper...

Great update as usual!:thumbsup2

I hear ya about catching up! That's what I'm trying to do. I need to finish this TR before our trip in June!!

We didn't try the peanut dipping sauce. We just opted to not have it on the table at all. We'll probably try it when we get to go again in the future.

OMG, If DH was stuck for that long I'm not sure what I would have done. We did learn a lesson.....bring your cell phone on the rides with you!

I agree about HDDR. We aren't going in June since we did Feb. If it were cheaper, I definitely would have booked it again. We'll just wait until next year.

I so glad you enjoyed your dinner at 'Ohana's. Up until this last trip we've loved it. The entertainment is usually big help if you have kids. You had a great Chef and I just love the fact he went out of his way on the desert.

Kudos to your son for riding Dinosaur and keeping his eyes open. Danielle has been riding it since she was 4 and didn't start opening her eyes until she was almost 10. We bought her something special when she rode it and Tower of Terror for the first time.

Someday I'll make it to Hoop De Do. I like corny humor.

I will have to catch up on your TR and see why you loved O'hana until now! ;)
I agree about the entertainment. DS loved it.

I was sort of shocked he kept his eyes open too. He did really good.

Hmmm, Tower of Terror.....let's just say that Winkers has some funny video lurking and waiting. :rolleyes1

Beer good...turkey leg with nasty tendons...not so good.

:rotfl2: Turkey leg IS good UNTIL you get to the nasty tendons.

I'm glad they won! I'm glad we sort of got to share the day with you...:thumbsup2

Me too!!!!

Can I just say that I'm crying a little right now. I really miss you guys!!!!!! What a GREAT night that was. Space Mountain was SCARY....never again in the front for me...

Awww
We really miss you too. This trip was one of the best we've ever had. That night was awesome! It felt like the park was ours or something. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: I don't blame you! I'm never riding in the front of that thing!!

I love the picture of me behind you...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Me too! If I were smiling it would look like we meant to do it. :rotfl2:

thanks for the lion picture!!!;) everyone poops
:lmao::lmao::lmao: True.

Okay caught up...missed most of the chatter since I have like 50 threads to catch up on not to mention my own....

I know what you mean. I have fallen behind!! Need to catch up and I also need to finish this TR before our trip in June.

mmm more ohana pics for me to salavat over till i eat there.

very cool, dino pic, you could tell he was a little scared but kinda liked it.

im not really a fan of that ride anymore, way to bumpy and jerky for me.

The food at O'hana was excellent!! Loved it.

I still like the Dinosaur ride but mostly because I have a new reason to ride it. I know what you mean about the bumpy jerky-ness (is that a word?) of it.

I am just soooooooo missing you guys !!!That was the BEST vacation ever !!!So glad to see Jordan back again!!!!!!

or course it is a word, you used it in a sentence so it meets my requirements of if a word really counts as being real.

We miss you too Rosie!!! I hope everyone really is able to make it to Jordan's bash in 2012, if we don't see each other before.

:rotfl2: Oh I forgot about you and Glenn's "it's in a sentence" thing. I like that!

Well folks, I'd love to stay and chat but I am FINALLY off to do some SHOPPING for our upcoming trip in June!! :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1: I wasn't sure about doing another trip so soon but I gotta tell ya.....I think I need it!!! :rotfl2:

Off to the travel sized toiletries aisle...............

have fun shopping and do you think this one will be done before your june trip?

Back from shopping! I got most of my list done and placed my Garden Grocer order....FINALLY! I'm hoping to finish this TR before we leave. I have 15 days. popcorn::

I would do an update tonight but I'm going with the girls to see Sex & the City 2! :)

I'll try for tomorrow night!

Glad to hear that you placed your grocery order. I may have to raid your fridge.

:rotfl2:

From the looks of the 2 PAGES of groceries I just ordered, I'd say we may have enough for a raiding.

We aren't doing the dining plan this time so I have ordered ALMOST everything we will need to cook for 3-4 nights and pack a lunch for DS for 6 days. The only thing we will need to go buy once there is the meat. I'm doing a roast one night and ground meat patties w/gravy another night. We will probably be able to eat the roast meal for 2 nights. We do have a couple of dinners out planned and one breakfast. We'll see if we come out cheaper in the end vs. the DP.

The chef at Ohana's did great! How cute to make a little show out of the dessert. I bet DS felt pretty special.

Coulda sworn I had posted on your last update, Cherie. ???? Hmmm...

I really like that family picture at AK!

Glad you liked 'Ohana, but also glad you recognize it's not a good fit your family with DS's diet issues. Good that you tried it at least once, so you could know.

WOW! You're down to 2 WEEKS!!! And you're scratching stuff off your to-do lists rather nicely! Travel aisle- check; Garden Grocer order- check! Almost time for that last pedi! :lmao:

He did feel special. It really helps to divert the attention from the fact that he can't have what every one else can. I love that Chef. I wish I could take him home with us. :rotfl2:

Thanks about the AK pic! Those are some of my favorites.

Yeah, we really enjoyed O'hana but I just felt tense the entire time we were there waiting to see if he would have a reaction. It sort of steals some of the magic away.

Yes, 2 weeks!!!! I'm so excited. I think I will break out the suitcases tomorrow or Monday. I may not have anything to put in them yet, but there they will be smiling back at me each day until we leave. :rotfl:

Ok, I'm liking Dan's "2 weeks from today" thing he's got going on his PTR. So, I will just put quick little reminders each day for mine. I really don't have this trip planned out as much as I usually do. But here goes......

2 weeks from today we will leave our house and drive 9 hours to stay overnight in a hotel so that we can wake up early the next day and drive another 4. Sounds exciting right?? :rotfl2:

Seriously, we will do our major portion of the driving this day. Stop at the Florida welcome center, take our usual pictures, then head to Tallahassee. We usually go out to eat dinner this night too. Then we will hit the hay early so we can get up at 5am and be back on the road by 6am. :thumbsup2

Glad you got the TARGET shopping done !!! I never walk down that aisle (you know the one ) without thinking JORDAN!!!!:rotfl2:
How exciting to be going again!!! I leave for Lake George for my first Escort trip!!!:banana:I just packed most of my things tonite and found everything I needed in trial sizes etc already in my Disney stash:rotfl2:I will be reporting on the trip on my TR!!! Unfortunately due to HIPPA I can't post pix of my charges !!!:sad2:But if I get ashot of an ELVIS that looks like the one Winkers posted I will definately share that!!!!!:lmao:

nice 2 week update, and glad i could help you start your own, what restraunt do you guys think you will eat at that night?

the roast you are making, do they have crock pots in those rooms? or how do you guys cook them while gone during the day? or are you at the hotel that day?:goodvibes

How exciting that you are going on your first Escort trip! :yay: Can't wait to read about it. You can keep the Elvis pic for yourself, though. :rotfl2:

There is a BBQ place we usually eat at while there but I can't remember the name of it right now. :rotfl: (I'm so prepared, right?)

I'm bringing my own crock pot. I'm not sure if they have one or not. I've never looked. I know they have all the pots and pans & utensils you would need to cook almost anything you'd want. But I don't recall seeing a crock pot. I'll also be bringing my rice cooker. We are rice & gravy people. :thumbsup2

Yes, I'll be slow cooking my roast all day in the crock pot/slow cooker. I usually cook it very slow in there for about 5-6 hours. It is soooo tender after that! And there is enough for the 3 of us to eat for a couple of days. Very easy meal! Once we get back to the hotel for dinner, I'll make the rice & whatever veggie we will have with it. That only takes about 15-20 minutes. I like easy home cooked meals. :thumbsup2

2 weeks from today we will wake up early and drive the last 4 hours to Disney World. Normally, we arrive and check in and are strolling through the turnstyles of our first park around 10am.

On this particular day we will probably spend more time than usual checking out the grounds of Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villa's since this is our first trip home! After this we will head over to AK for the first half of the day and then MK for magic hours in the evening. If there is time, we may do the pool in the middle of the day but I think our first pool day may be tomorrow.

So exciting!! Can't wait to pull up to AKV and take a look around. :woohoo:

very good idea on bringing your own crock pot. i also like the rice and gravy but dont hardly haveit, will have to have it sometimes soon does sound good.

You're right -- there are no crock pots or rice cookers in the villas. Good idea to bring your own. Sounds like a good meal.

You'll have fun walking around and checking out Kidani!

Awesome idea to have your meals cooking while you're gone! Very smart thinking!

I have 3 meals planned at AK, I hope that's enough time to really check out that amazing looking resort at least a little. :thumbsup2
