1. May 25 - June 2, 2013
2. June 22 - 29, 2013

We can't decide...:rolleyes1 We are planning on spending some time at the water parks:beach:

We will be at OKW May 24 & 25. Then taking a 4 night cruise. Returning to OKW through June 2. I'm sure our teens will go to the water parks too. Me and DH? Doubtful. We are more of the lounge around in the pools and hot tubs type!

Not from Louisiana, but DDiL is from Houma.:)

We want to travel from WDW to Houma by car from Orlando. Our newest Grand baby will be baptized in Houma in January. We have plenty of time to travel. Are there any worthwhile things to see en route?

For sure, we are spending a few days in NO!

Thank you.

USS Alabama in Mobile. You can see it from I10 as you drive by over Mobile Bay or you can stop and tour. Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, but I haven't seen them in years. Pensacola has the National Naval Aviation Museum. Biloxi has casinos.

Good..thanks!

Ditto on the USS Alabama. It's very interesting and worth a stop in my opinion. The only problem is we are so ready to get there on the way and so ready to get home on the way back that we never stop.

Us too!

You can stop at the FL welcome center for a free glass of orange or grapefruit juice and a potty break.

On the way home we generally stop in Pensacola (about 15 minutes south of I-10) to eat at McGuires Pub. Depending on your timing you could stop on the way there. Here is the URL: http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/

Generally we make more stops on the way home as we are too excited to get to Disney to stop on the way. ;)

Just booked a Halloween trip that the kids don't know about! Our first time surprising them, if hubby and I can keep our mouths shut! :rotfl2:

Throwed Rolls!!!!

We LOVE that place too but the line is generally too long and it is too much of a detour time wise when we are trying to get home because we generally have school the next day. Their fried okra and chicken and dumplings are delish!

ok!

If you are into shopping, Foley has a big outlet mall and so does Biloxi (maybe actually Gulfport). But Foley is bigger.

Forgot about Dauphin Island at Mobile. That also is kind of neat.

You could take the causeway across Lake Pontchartrain.

I've been sharing the answers with my sister, who says she's looking forward to the fried okra and chicken & dimplings!

I am so glad I asked!:thumbsup2

Hi from a dvc family down in St Bernard. We are all WHO DATS! and LSU fans. We own at SSR and AKV. We generally go two to three times a year. Currently the DW and myself have a ten day trip planned by ourselves for food and wine fest in October. I am counting down the days.

I created a Facebook group for all Disney fans in Louisiana! Search "Disney Fans - Louisiana" or I can find you on Facebook to add you as a member! Would love to see new faces! Share with anyone living in LA who loves Disney!

Done. I tried to send you a message, but I think it went to your "Other" folder over on FB.

GoofyD, we own at the same places... BLT and BWV. BWV will always be our favorite!

So awesome to have a few of you join our Facebook group! I've been a DVC Member since last year. My home resort is AKL - Kidani. I live in Metairie, LA with my husband & our 1 month old daughter. I was engaged & married in WDW. I'm currently a Disney Travel Agent & was a former Radio Disney Promotions Assistant & Disney Store CM. Our next trip will be March 29-April 5 staying at Saratoga Springs for my birthday week, my daughter's 1st visit, & Flower & Garden Festival! I would love to meet anyone in my area, as I'm always looking for new Disney friends!
