Just for fun - Maya is 6 months old now (!!!!). I took a day off yesterday and we spent the day at the zoo.
Aria is doing awesome and Maya is doing pretty well too - still trying to figure out some rashes (we know she is allergic to dogs...) but overall the formula switch has really helped. She is trying to crawl (she can army crawl with her arms to get to toys) so it's only a matter of time!
Surprisingly, Maya is growing taller and skinner than Aria did - at her 6 month check up she was 27" (95%ile) and 14lbs10oz (23%ile). Aria is 41" and 33lbs.
Back to the TR -
So the next couple days were pretty up in the air. We were moving out of Bonnet Creek and into Universal's Cabana Bay - I got a passholder rate of around $100/night so I figured I would extend this trip even longer (if you've been counting, this makes nights 10 & 11 lol). Lynda & Aron were heading home after our week at Bonnet Creek.
So on this day we had to check out, then Aria and I were spending the day at Typhoon Lagoon!
First, Aron was super helpful in bringing down my suitcases with me and helping load them into the rental, so that was really nice! Then we said our goodbyes and headed to breakfast then TL. For breakfast I had actually booked at Captain's Grill since their lemon ricotta pancakes are so delicious!
It was a great start to the day and then we headed over to the water park.
Today we were entering with the masses as we had no special cabana booked lol.
I spent some time looking over the map while we waited and tried to figure out a good spot to set up camp for the day. It was really hard to decipher between the map not really showing everything, and having the stroller - most of the areas were sandy or down stairs. Once they let us in I sprinted past the crowds and spotted a pretty decent area. I sent aria to sit on the lounge chairs while I wrangled the stroller down steps and across the sand, and we set up there. Then we were off!
TL is older than BB, and as such most (all?) of the tube rides you had to carry the tubes up yourself. WOW, of course we headed to the family raft ride first as it had been so much fun at BB - but see this HUGE yellow raft? I had to roll this up the stairs all by myself. That really sucked.
There was no line though so we got to go down right away
The ride was really quick though (especially once again comparing to the one at BB, which I believe is the longest family raft ride?)
From there we consulted the map on what to do next - our stroller and chairs were in area 4, actually at that bend overlooking the large wave pool. The Family raft ride "Gangplank Falls" was F.
I think we went next door to Mayday Falls. I had to talk Aria into this one, and we couldn't go down together. She seemed up for it so I went down first and told her I'd be waiting at the bottom. (There was a CM at the top who said she would send her down). It seemed like a long wait but Aria did make it down. She said she didn't want to do it again lol.
Water slides are a bit painful on my back, so I went in search of a tube slide instead. We went to Keelhaul Falls which has two tube options. Again we couldn't go together so I went first and then Aria came down
These tubes also had their middles filled in FYI, so Aria was fine laying in it (she couldn't fall through the middle)
She enjoyed this so we checked out the other one. - I had to carry up two tubes each time though so this one was short lived.
The other tube slide had quite the line forming already
See the slide? Yes, it's ridiculously bumpy!
All told the wait was around 20 minutes. Once again I went first and waited for Aria at the bottom
It was SO bumpy. Of course Aria loved this one, but I didn't feel comfortable being preggo and doing it again. We decided to head to the kiddie area - Ketchakiddie Creek (cute name lol). They had a small tube slide
It was a REALLY nice play area - I think TL kiddie area wins out over BB!
After quite a while playing there, we decided to check out the other kid-centric area which was two slides into a shallow section of the wave pool.
I thought it would be fun to go to the wave pool to check out some waves
Then I got water up my nose and aria was knocked from my arms so we quickly got out lol!
I attempted to talk aria into the Storm Slides (body slides) but they looked a bit too scary for her, so we decided to do some relaxing in the lazy river next.
For lunch I had actually brought some left over food that had been accruing in our room fridge, so we stopped and ate that and then I grabbed us a treat
Around lunchtime I decided to leave at nap, so that gave us another 30 minutes or so to play and then we'd head out
Burying her feet
During a bathroom break we saw Stitch meeting with no line so we checked him out
Then we rinsed off and changed - I grabbed this pic on the way out
Despite being at Disney for so long, I was feeling SO sad about leaving the bubble and heading off to Universal. Our plans had been to spend the following day at Universal again (since Aria's ticket had 1 more day left) but seeing how little there was to do for us there, I really wasn't excited about that prospect. While letting the car cool off, Aria fell asleep in the parking lot and I was playing on my phone looking at MK FP options for the next day just in case. I happened to spot 7DMT FP's that popped up (!!!!!!!) and I grabbed them. Then I went and checked to see if I could get a breakfast in the park before it opened, and low and behold there was an 8AM BoG ressie! Super excited about the "bonus" MK day, we headed off to check in for Universal's Cabana Bay...
