This morning, we got up at about six o' clock to get ready for our eight o' clock breakfast at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom.
We were down at the bus stop around 7:20 and waited about 15 minutes or so for a bus.
By the time we got to Animal Kingdom, it was almost eight, and they were already letting people with breakfast reservations in. We began the long trek back to Africa, taking some pictures along the way.
We arrived back at the Tusker House shortly after eight, checked in, and got our pictures taken with Donald.
After we were seated and ordered our drinks, we headed up to the buffet.

A little while after we got our food, the characters started coming around. We were able to get pictures with Daisy and Mickey.
Goofy came into the room just before nine, but we didn't wait for him because we wanted to head into the park right at nine. (We also already have pictures with him from breakfast here on our past two trips.) I did manage to get a picture of him from the side on our way out, though.
After breakfast, I stopped by the ladies room and accidentally dropped my sunglasses on the floor. They didn't break permanently, but the lens did pop out, and we couldn't get it back in without a mini screwdriver. :-( We checked all the little carts we passed on the way to Asia for one of those little repair kits, but didn't have any luck. (We were able to fix them later when we went back to Africa.)
After we left the Tusker House, we headed over to Expedition Everest.
Somehow, my husband convinced me to ride twice in a row. If he had his way, we probably would have gone on it ten times! I mean, I like the ride and all, but I don't think I can handle more than twice in a row.
One of the times in line, I noticed this detail, which I thought was pretty cute:
In the gift shop, my husband bought himself an Expedition Everest t-shirt. It's starting to become a tradition for him to get one; he purchased one last year too.
After Expedition Everest, we started making our way over to the safari. We stopped on the way to drink some water and watch the apes climbing on the big wooden structure they have set up. At one point, one of the apes was carrying this huge leaf as he swung on the ropes.
Then, we ran into a little booth where there were two ladies with a little display set up. The one was weaving palm leaves, and the other offered to write our names in Thai on these special papers they had. We both had her write our Thai names for us.
When we reached Africa, there were some street entertainers playing music and dancing:
We popped into the gift shop to see if they had a glasses repair kit. They didn't, but they had a little screwdriver they let us borrow. Luckily, we were able to fix the glasses!
After we fixed my sunglasses, we headed over to Kilimanjaro Safari. Stay tuned for the next post with safari pictures!
