So it's time for yesterday's dining review!
First up, lunch at Floatworks. DH took some pics of all of our food this week, but we are really concentrating on the video, so I will get pics up as soon as we can.
For lunch we had Gumbo, Meatball Sub, Chicken Quesadilla, and Muffaletta.
The Gumbo: This was really just average. It didn't have a very "gumbo-y" taste to it and there was no plop of rice in the middle. For a soup it was very very good, but for Gumbo, not so much. There were big pieces of chicken and andouille along with the okra, and I love that!
Meatball Sub: The bread was nicely toasted and the sandwich was quite big. Not as big as the Cheesesteaks I saw going out, which were GINORMOUS, but more than enough for 1 person. The meatballs were very very large and you almost needed a knife and fork for this one.
Quesadilla: Average, run of the mill, chicken quesadilla. It did come with rice and beans though, and that was a nice twist! Sour cream and salsa as well. Inside the tortilla was just chicken and cheese.
The Muffaletta: Oh...... my.......... Gosh!!!!!! I will be back just for this. The bread was thick and soft and warm, the cheese was oooooey gooey heaven, and the tapenade..... delicious! Very good sandwich, one of those that it really doesn't matter if you are full or not, you are going to finish it! I have been concentrating on putting down the food when I'm full, so up until this sandwich I haven't completely finished anything at a meal yet. The Muffaletta was the exception. Well, I did only have half seeing as DH and I split the Quesadilla and the Muffaletta. He's lucky he got any of it, frankly.
We stopped later in the day for a snack at The Brown Derby and we all split the Famous Cobb Salad and the Crab Spring Rolls. Thomas brought out a basket of bread with Hawaiian Sea Salt as well. When DH (a butter connoisseur) tasted the bread and butter, he literally GASPED and said WHOA really loudly. Evidently it was delicious. The Crab rolls were tasty and served a bit like sushi with pickled ginger on the side. The garnish was a Crab claw that was still filled with meat, so we liked that a lot. The Cobb was too mushy for me, but DH loved it! There was A LOT of parsley and I felt like that overwhelmed the other flavors. There was not a lot of big lettuce pieces so it didn't feel much like a salad. There were, however, HUGE chunks of avocado, so I picked all of those out and ate them before handing my half over to DH.
And now, 50's Prime Time!!! Our server was fantastic! Megan did a great job playing the part!

I thought I would lose it at the end when she said "It's just a small bean after all"!!
Finally, we stopped in to the ever famous Earl of Sandwich just to split a couple of subs between the 5 of us and taste them. DH got the Full Montagu and really really liked it. I got The Original. I am a huge fan of Roast Beef, Cheddar, and Horseradish. But this sandwich was really really fatty. The bread was good, but I'll either switch sandwiches or stick with Puck Express next time.
Ok, so post your votes for dinner tonight at The Grand Floridian!!!!!!!
See you real soon!!!!!
