I Can! I Can Stink at 9am! A January TR - 3/8 New TR Link!

Great update. I loved seeing the progression of time with IASW. Even though, I detest that ride!

I forgot how great the PP was until we rode it together. I need to go back next trip. Which is in two weeks :hyper:

The angry old lady story was too much. I'm amazed they were even trying to get FP+ with that much difficulty. Whew!

Too fun in Dumbo, love it!

I get in that line. Bad decision. It was two older women who had absolutely no idea what they were doing AND they weren’t just selecting one FP. No no no. They were selecting 3!

:faint:

Seriously, not just ‘Pirates’ but ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, because there’s so many rides at the MK with the word Pirate it in.

:rotfl::rotfl2:

I suggested that me and her go on my favorite ride and she said, “Doesn’t that just go around and around, not doing anything?”

Say what?? It's a journey into the future!

And this is when DM made a request for her favorite ride. IASW.

Ok, you're not allowed to rip the Peoplemover and then request IASW. I'm calling a violation here.

Well unless he’s 30. That would actually be a fun photo to recreate:scratchin:rotfl2:

:scared:

OMG, been there, done that with the "short line" UGH!! :sad2: In Disney World, but especially at the grocery store when you already have all your stuff unloaded on the belt!

Awww, I know just what you mean about DS being able to walk through the queue. It's the little Disney milestones that make the whole experience!

DS looks like he is having the best time in the Dumbo play area! I love that, I hope they do that with more of the queues for the Fantasyland rides. It makes waiting to ride SO much easier for little kids and their parents!

The lines at the kiosks were very long, except for one line that only had two people at it selecting their FP’s, so thinking I’m being smart, I get in that line.

Sounds like a smart plan! :thumbsup2

Bad decision.

Oh....:headache:

FINALLY selected their final FP of choice and the CM says, “You should take a picture of that to remember your times.”

Gee thanks CM! :rolleyes2

Back into the backpack they go, pull out a piece of paper from their file and write every single word out. Seriously, not just ‘Pirates’ but ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, because there’s so many rides at the MK with the word Pirate it in.

When-We-Kept-Waiting-Birth-Announcement.gif

Well there is Pirates...of the Caribbean...and....nope that's it! :lmao:

Q: Why didn’t you just switch lines?

A: Yes I could have moved 7 minutes ago but you know what would have happened. I move into a different line and then they suddenly know what they’re doing and move at lightening speed and I’m stuck in line again.

Yes! That's the line jinx curse! I have that too ::yes::

Q: Why not?

A: They were angry older ladies. You don’t mess with their kind.
Those kind of ladies be scary! :scared1:

I suggested that me and her go on my favorite ride and she said, “Doesn’t that just go around and around, not doing anything?” :confused3 Uh no, you get to see all of Tomorrowland and get some great views of the castle! Poor DM just doesn’t get it. So I whisked DH away for a nice, relaxing ride on the Peoplemover:cloud9:

In your DM's defence it does just go round and round! :rotfl:
But since Peoplemover is the best thing ever she is still wrong! ::yes::

That photo is epic! Perfect castle placement! :thumbsup2

And this is when DM made a request for her favorite ride. IASW.

snowwhite-scared-gif.109943

She doesn't like Peoplemover but she loves IASW???

Awwwww! Look how big he's getting! :goodvibes

Well unless he’s 30. That would actually be a fun photo to recreate:scratchin:rotfl2:

You should totally do that!! ::yes::

Like this guy!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

We did have to be ‘bad’ parents and drag him away crying cause he wanted to stay and play:scared:

So mean. :sad2:

:scared: Oh no! I think we've all been there in some way. Hate it when there is a good reason that nobody is in that line. :headache:

I was irritated but amused. And to answer any further questions you may have regarding this situation, I’ll address them now.
It is pretty funny. :rotfl: And you actually did answer all of my questions! :thumbsup2

I did not scan my MB when doing the Rider Swap at BTMRR and DM didn’t scan hers at 7DMT. But we were also never told to scan them either when handing over the pass :confused3 So this meant that DM and I hadn’t checked in for those rides, meaning we never rode them, leaving us unable to make FP selections for a 4th FP. I explained to the CM that we were using Rider Swap and said that this was happening a lot, that CM’s weren’t asking folks with the pass to get scanned so she was able to override it and let me make a selection.
Well, I hope they don't start making the person with the Rider Swap scan their band too. That's what we count on to "split" our FP+ selections, especially the Tier 1 rides (i.e. - I can get Soarin', Dug can get Test Track, then we each get a swap).

These next two pictures was a pivotal moment for us. This was the first time DS was able to walk through the queue by himself. We always had the pleasure of holding him as a little baby and even at One he wasn’t walking
Wow, these kids are just growing up WAY too fast! :faint: It doesn't seem that long ago that you and I were talking about their impending births and so much has changed so quickly since then! :sad1: Izzy saw some baby pictures of herself today and thought they were SO cute. :lovestruc But she is VERY clear that she is a BIG girl now. ::yes::

It was two older women who had absolutely no idea what they were doing AND they weren’t just selecting one FP. No no no. They were selecting 3! :faint: After looking at some of their choices, they proceeded to pull out a large file with paperwork out of a backpack, trying to find the time of their dinner reservation so they wouldn’t schedule a ride during dinner.
While this was definitely funny I would have totally lost my S on them. Or at least unleashed a slew of passive aggressive comments that I'm sure they and their paperwork would have loved. You should have asked to take a picture with their vintage phones ; )

So this meant that DM and I hadn’t checked in for those rides, meaning we never rode them, leaving us unable to make FP selections for a 4th FP.
I thought as long as the time passed you could still get the 4th fast pass. Is that not the case?

So I whisked DH away for a nice, relaxing ride on the Peoplemover:cloud9:
Ah, what romance

These next two pictures was a pivotal moment for us. This was the first time DS was able to walk through the queue by himself. We always had the pleasure of holding him as a little baby and even at One he wasn’t walking
These pictures are amazing. How special to have them all and now watch DS literally grow up with IASW.

We ended up staying for a few minutes after our buzzer had gone off because he was having so much fun. We did have to be ‘bad’ parents and drag him away crying cause he wanted to stay and play:scared:
We love the dumbo waiting area too, though they've never actually used the buzzer when we were there. They give them to you but they serve no purpose. Either way, we go through the same thing as my daughter thinks we're the worst parents in the world dragging her away from fun to ride a ride. How horrible are we ; )

I loved all your pics of DS from baby to now...so cute. Amazing how that happens huh? I too don't "get" anyone "not" getting the Peoplemover lol..it's one of my faves. I mean...I know it doesn't go fast or anything but...so great...you can always get on...great views....anyone can go...what's not to love?

That's cause I was waiting on you to catch up of course. Didn't want you to fall too far behind :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Aww, that was so thoughtful ;)

The lines at the kiosks were very long, except for one line that only had two people at it selecting their FP’s, so thinking I’m being smart, I get in that line. Bad decision. It was two older women who had absolutely no idea what they were doing AND they weren’t just selecting one FP. No no no. They were selecting 3! :faint: After looking at some of their choices, they proceeded to pull out a large file with paperwork out of a backpack, trying to find the time of their dinner reservation so they wouldn’t schedule a ride during dinner. Then they slowly put the file back in their backpack, very neatly so as not to crinkle anything. When that got figured out, they FINALLY selected their final FP of choice and the CM says, “You should take a picture of that to remember your times.” So they both pull out their FLIP PHONES and try to find the camera on their phones. And for a good while mind you! “Maybe we should just write them down.” :faint::faint: Back into the backpack they go, pull out a piece of paper from their file and write every single word out. Seriously, not just ‘Pirates’ but ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, because there’s so many rides at the MK with the word Pirate it in.

Oh my gosh... I could imagine myself in your shoes feeling incredibly frustrated! I don't know if I would have been able to restrain myself from just doing it for them.

“Doesn’t that just go around and around, not doing anything?” :confused3 Uh no, you get to see all of Tomorrowland and get some great views of the castle! Poor DM just doesn’t get it. So I whisked DH away for a nice, relaxing ride on the Peoplemover:cloud9:

Doesn't it go around and not do anything? :sad2: What it does is be the best ride ever!

Good job getting the castle in the background!

Seriously though, I knew it was coming. DS loves it and DM really loves it so let’s get it ove - I mean, Yay! ::yes::

 But actually...I do really enjoy IASW

He's so big and grown up! It must be bittersweet for you.

Well unless he’s 30. That would actually be a fun photo to recreate:scratchin:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

However, I really wanted to see the waiting area

Me too! And I totally forgot to do it on my last trip!

We ended up staying for a few minutes after our buzzer had gone off because he was having so much fun. We did have to be ‘bad’ parents and drag him away crying cause he wanted to stay and play:scared:

Looking at how cool it looks in there from your pictures, I was wondering if kids don't want to leave when it's their turn to ride!

Maybe if you kept your dining reservations neatly in a folder, uncrinkled in your backpack, and had taken the time (10 or 15 minutes) to look at it before you made your FP+ selection, then you would've known that you didn't have time...Hahaha! Sure hope you made it in time. Really enjoying your TR!

:rotfl2:

I Hate Waiting.

ME TOO. Especially unecessarily.. Like, there wasn't even a ride/attraction at the end of this wait!

The lines at the kiosks were very long, except for one line that only had two people at it selecting their FP’s, so thinking I’m being smart, I get in that line. Bad decision.

This is me EVERY TIME I'm in a line-choosing situation  this story cracked me up...

After looking at some of their choices, they proceeded to pull out a large file with paperwork out of a backpack, trying to find the time of their dinner reservation so they wouldn’t schedule a ride during dinner.

...Well, when I say this story cracked me up, I also raged, hard.. it was an emotional roller coaster :furious::lmao::furious::lmao::furious:

Q: Why didn’t you just switch lines?

A: Yes I could have moved 7 minutes ago but you know what would have happened. I move into a different line and then they suddenly know what they’re doing and move at lightening speed and I’m stuck in line again.

::yes:: every time.

Q: Couldn’t you have offered to help them?

A: No

I actually laughed out loud at this :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I think they would have looked at my 'help' as a 'please hurry the heck up!'

If there was ever an award for the best dressed couple's feet, you would win. :thumbsup2

But today was different

Oh wow, these 4 photos together are amazing! When I started reading this update I didn't think it would be in for such a roller coaster of emotions!

But he’ll never be too old to sit on his mommy

...

Well unless he’s 30.

But up until he's 29, it's totally fine :rotfl:

Aww best friends :cutie::cutie: so cute!

I was so far behind and I'm playing catch up. I'm still cracking up over the Jasmine episode.

Hello DIS friends! Sorry for slacking off but life happened :crazy2:

I've always had stomach issues and 2 Thursdays ago they had started up again and finally saw a doctor that following Tuesday (our 9 year anniversary, BTW! :faint:) who diagnosed me with IBS-C, which I knew I had since I was younger. Anyway, that was fun times.

DH had an appointment with his ENT Doctor to run tests on his hearing. Still no inflammation in the ears, which is good. Now he's hearing 4 out of 20 words instead of the 1 out of 20 from March. Progress!!! :cool1: He'll be going back every 3 months to check up. Funny, one of his coworkers (actually, one of the brothers that was left out from the movie McFarland - if you haven't seen it, you must, so good!) has the EXACT same thing. Got extreme vertigo and can't hear out of one ear. He just recently got it not too long ago so he's in the very early stages, so is hearing nothing. So strange :scratchin:confused3

Then, for some insane reason, when my stomach issues were happening, DH's Ulcerative Colitis was acting up and we decided to do a Juice Fast Cleanse......NEVER. Again.:rotfl2::faint: We had been watching several documentaries on Netflix over the Summer on food and thought we should try a 3 day cleanse. It was rough! Had a headache the entire weekend from no sugar or caffeine (had no idea I was that addicted?? I'm lying yes I did but didn't want to admit it :snooty:) We actually started on his 32nd birthday, which is sad. No cake or food. Just juice. Aside from headaches, starvation, no energy and sleeping all day, it was good :lmao: I'm actually thirsty in the mornings craving juice so we'll continue juicing with meals from now on. I was staying away from the DIS purposefully, knowing a lot of threads I was subbed to have some good food porn.

Will be playing catch up over the next few days :goodvibes

Happy belated anniversary!

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but I guess good to get it diagnosed and that it isn't anything new, new.

Glad to hear you DH is making progress on their hearing ... certainly better than the alternative - that is odd though that his co-worker had the same thing

I've always thought about trying a cleanse ... I mean, the idea of eating totally healthy and exercise just isn't really my bag - but taking 3 days to undo the booze and bad food I eat the other 362 days seemed like something I could do :rotfl2: .... though guess that might not be worth it based on your experience

Welcome back!

Sorry to hear that you were not feeling well, but good news it is something you already knew about (even though it seems it didn't bother you lately).

And I am glad to hear that your DH's hearing problems seem to get better. Hope it clears up completely.

And yeah, the cleanse. :rolleyes1

Tried it once, but wasn't very successful. :rotfl2:Another teacher at our school did it every year for a week and it sounded not too bad in the beginning. She was only drinking herbal tea - every day another one. Yikes, they were horrible without any sweetener and I felt SICK :crazy2:, really sick after two days. Went back to regular life then. Life's too short to suffer through horrible tea. ;)

Hiappy Anniversary! Too bad about the stomach issues. I can relate to the addicted thing. I have tried just no carbs and end up shaky and almost chewing on my arm by the end of the day. Eating clean with no processed foods is a good way to try to do a "cleanse" in moderation.

Hope your hubby'S ears continue to improve. Interesting about the co-worker. Do they work with chemicals or some kind of sounds around them?

Sorry about your stomach issues, but happy about your DH's progress! It's great that this is coming along.

I feel you on the food thing. I have been low carb for 21 days now and the first 14 were SO HARD. I was really cranky.

BUT it SOLVED my STOMACH ISSUES. Like solved them. DONE. This leads my Doctor to believe I am gluten intolerant. BOO HISS BOO. I don't know what I am going to do about eating on my Disney trip. Eat whatever and risk some not fun times in the bathroom or eat carefully and miss out on some favorites ( BUT ICE CREAM IS GLUTEN FREE SO JUST EAT ALL THE ICE CREAMS??? )

Ugh. Sorry you guys have been suffering so much lately!

Now he's hearing 4 out of 20 words instead of the 1 out of 20 from March. Progress!!!

4 > 1. So yay!

Funny, one of his coworkers (actually, one of the brothers that was left out from the movie McFarland - if you haven't seen it, you must, so good!) has the EXACT same thing. Got extreme vertigo and can't hear out of one ear.

Wow, that is really weird. Wish I knew what the answer was.

Oh my goodness, McFarland was so good!!!! I was pretty much sobbing at the end when the not thin brother pushed himself to the limit. I can't call him fat, he wasn't fat... How cool to know one of the brothers. That story was just fabulous.

I'm sorry about the diagnosis, but good that it wasn't a new thing. Still not fun to have an official diagnosis. Did the doc give you any suggestions of how to manage it?

Any progress with DH's hearing is progress, that's fantastic news!!! Hopefully it continues to get better.

Man, you all have really been through the ringer lately. Hopefully things are on the upswing for you and hubby both. Happy Belated Anniversary.

Sorry you've both been dealing with health issues lately (though glad DH's hearing has improved). Hope you're both feeling better! :goodvibes
