How much is your 2013 WDW vacation going to cost you?

Ok, not looking forward to adding this one up. I usually get a much better total but this is a Surprise Christmas trip and we've been dreaming of it for years so we were willing to spend extra to do what we wanted to do. We cancelled our planned and almost paid for August trip.


So..2 adults, 1 disney adult, 1 child
7 nights Wilderness Lodge Studio (rented points) -1400
Flights for four -1350
Upgrade 2 day tickets (from previous trip) to 7 day tickets 550
Food OOP and tips (2000) (that includes Candlelight Processional)
Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party 260
Dog/Cat sitter - 200
1 night at Gaylord Palms with ICE! tickets 380
1 Night at MCO Hyatt 160
And airport parking and hotel stay for first night.. 128

For a grand total of...$6400 for 10 nights.

About 2000 more than we usually pay.

Absolutely free..... is even paying for gas and parking at the airport.

My dad has made promises through 44 years of my life...never made good on them. When he mentioned the cruise and AKV we thought "yea uh huh right".....then he actually BOOKED IT! I have asked his wife if he is terminally ill/dying (envisioning our last meal on cruise and an announcement or something, esp. cuz he had throat cancer) because it was such a surprise for him to do this for all of us. She said he is fine. Anyway, I am beyond thankful for it and am proud of him finally making good after 44 years of promises not coming true. I can't wait until Aug.!

So I subbed to this thread awhile ago to make sure I contribute to it. It was only just now that I remembered to actually do it! Well, my life seems to be organized into spreadsheets, so here's what I came up with for our trip:

Sept 9-16, 2013 - 7 nights

Group: DH and me
Resort: $990 - Pop Century - preferred room (7 nights + tax)
Passes: $714 - 6-day park hopper (using MNSSHP as our "7th day")
DDP: $252 - upgraded from free quick service to regular dining
Trip Insurance: ~$152 - 1st time traveling in Sept & wanted to be covered
La Nouba: $258 - 1st time & so excited!
MNSSHP: $131 - 1st time & so excited!
Wishes Dessert Party: $51 - will be 4th time & love it.
PhotoPass+: $159 - splurge
Airfare: $432 - Southwest for both of us roundtrip
Shuttle to airport at home: $45

*Doesn't include tips, gratuities, drinks/appetizers, cost of our costumes for the party...am I forgetting anything?? Oh yeah...souvenirs! I crack myself up sometimes.

Thank goodness it was a birthday gift trip from my family! Since we could afford doing extras (because the bulk of the trip paid for by them), we paid for La Nouba, MNSSHP, and the dessert party. I had also planned on us paying for PP+ and the shuttle but they said not to worry about it. Best present EVER!
