How much is your 2013 WDW vacation going to cost you?

Sept. 14-21 4 adults and 4 kids (1 Disney adult)
2 bedroom SV AKV- $1900 (DVC maintenance)
4 day hopper-$1178 (w/ military discount)
Dining Plan-$1746
PhotoPass Plus-$150
MNSVSHP-$320
Fuel/Food for travel-$450
Souvenirs-$1000
Total: $6744

Sept 8th - 13th (5 nights)
3 adults
2 nights AKL standard/ 3 nights POFQ Standard - $840 (Military discount)
4 day MYW+PH - $468
Dining plan - $885 *increased on June 21, 2013
Gratuities - ~$75
Airfare - will vary since we are coming from different locations

Package - airfare total: $2,268.

So my share of this cost (with estimated airfare) will be about $1296 w/o allotting my fun money.

I'm also looking into renting DVC points because we could get a studio at at Deluxe for our entire stay and STILL pay less than with the military discount.

As Free Dining will most likely be offered again next year (2014) during our visit, I decided to crunch the numbers and see which discount was better (Armed Forces Salute or Free Dining).

Here's the new breakdown:
September 8th - 13th, 2014
3 Adults
5 nights POFQ Standard - $1,091 (rack rate)
3, 1-day MYW base ticket (req'd for Free Dining) - $287.55
3, 4-day MYW Park Hopper (Armed Forces Salute Discount) - $468
Dining Plan - FREE :flower3: + gratuities - ~$75
Airfare - will vary

Package - airfare total: $1,921.55
Savings of +$346.45

My total with estimated airfare is about $1,222.35; A savings of $73.65 :cool1:

Again, this is if free dining comes back and if the Armed Forces Salute promo is renewed.

Too many ifs if you ask me! :headache:

Wow, a family of 5 in a 1bdrm villa, one of the kids must be under 3 ? I wish we could still squeeze in a 1 bdrm. We did a studio with 4, and that was o.k. We (family of 5) are going to try out a 2bdrm villa for the next trip (kind of wished we would have tried it for this upcoming trip).

Our youngest is 4. He will sleep with DH and I in the king bed, and the girls will share the pull-out.

It's more space than we had at POR, so I'm thrilled.

I don't factor the DVC price into my trip, I have owned long enough so that my stays now outweigh what I paid into DVC and I do not pay thousands in maintenance fee's a year. If I did factor in the maintenance fee's divided by how many days I could go to Disney on my points it would come out to about 45.00 a night to stay in a deluxe resort.

I have to agree. Owning DVC has made it possible for me to go numerous times a year. I own my points for 14 years. I have to say that what I pay in maintenance is still less than it would cost me for 1 week in a deluxe hotel. Also my AP comes out to what some one would pay for 1 week for a park hopper. So many of us DVC members do look at it as our room is paid and so are our park tickets......

Sept. 14-21 (7 nights)

Family of 4
BWV 1 Bedroom $2500 (30% disc Fall offer)
7 day park hopper $1650
$150 trip ins
Gas driving from NC $350
Total: $4650 (without food or souvenirs!) LOL

Not too great, but can't wait!!!

I know...every time I look at my food expenses I am like kicking myself. My family loves to eat. My kids are like scavengers, and DH is into body building. If people on these boards knew what I spend on groceries....I spend at least $300 a week. We eat pretty healthy.
My food itinerary for 9 days is:
Day 1: Biergarten dinner
Day 2: breakfast in room, BOG lunch, Ohana dinner
Day 3: Cape May breakfast, Hurricane Hannah's lunch, Pizza Planet dinner
Day 4: breakfast in room, Tusker House lunch, kids club/Yachtsman dinner
Day 5: Akershus breakfast, Chefs lunch, Wolfgang CS dinner
Day 6: Ohana breakfast, Hurricane Hannah's lunch, CS dinner
Day 7: breakfast in room, Crystal Palace lunch, kids club/Le Cellier dinner
Day 8: BC marketplace breakfast, Pizza Planet lunch, Cape May dinner
Day 8: Cape May breakfast, Marketplace lunch

DDP costs $1550, plus it will be an extra $500 OOP or so for YS, LC, Ohana breakfast, and Marketplace lunch...add in 2 nights for three kids at kids club plus all tips and I think we're at like $2800 for food for the week.

My family loves to eat OMG
DH likes buffets because he loads up on protein and healthy stuff. I like it so the kids can try a little of everything, and they love character meals.

How are you staying at AKL for $114. per night ? Even renting DVC points, that seems cheap.
Is it possible you own DVC and that is your calculation for your stay?
Just wondering............anyway, have a great trip.

Pardon my French, but Holy Crap! Have you priced out the Deluxe Plan since you have so many TS meals? You could always throw Cape May in there for breakfast another time and hit Beaches & Cream instead of Hannah's.

Our 2013 vacation starts in a few days! DH and I are taking our 2 daughters (age 18 and 15) and 8 of their friends. Yes we are crazy for taking 10 teenagers to Disney but it's memories they'll never forget. We're covering all expenses except the friends' Park tickets.

Our "Graduation Celebration" July 18 - 23
OKW 1BR & 2BR villas
6 day Parkhoppers
No DDP 3 group ADRs, 1 just me and dh

Plane tickets $0 (points - for all 12!)
Hotel before flight $248 (hotwire 3 rooms 3*)
Airport parking 3 cars $162
Rental car (just me and DH - for grocery run, V&A's, DH to meet us at Parks) $190
Magical express - kids $0
OKW villas $4180
Groceries $300
New TIW card $100
CRT, CP, Sci Fi (group) $2150
Victoria and Albert's (me and DH for anniversary) $500
6d PH $2840 (friends)
APs (our family, 3rd trip on them) $0
Photopass + $149
Exotic driving experience (3 drivers) $519
Non dining tips $200

Grand total of $11,538, of which we will be paying $8698. Sounds like alot, but works out to just over $120 per person per day for our out of pocket expense or about $1000 per person overall.
