Hi All, This is Luanne, Eric's cohort in glutony, ..... I'm the one he equated to an old goat in his opening post. :rolleyes2

Someone in this thread was trying to figure out the recipe for the flatbread from Chef's. Just thought I'd drop in and post this for you:

Flatbread Appetizers at Chefs de France

    http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1575103&page=169

    Dough for Tart

    ½ lb flour
3 ½ oz. rendered pork fat
    1 tsp. yeast
    ½ cup tepid water
    .7 oz lard

Add the yeast to tepid water and stir. Mound the flour on a table; add a pinch of salt, the rendered pork fat and the lard, work in with your fingers. Add the yeast and water and knead. Form a ball, cover with a cloth and place in a warm place for 2 hours. Work the dough out with the palm of your hand and roll to ¼ centimeter thick and a 9” circle.

    Onion Tart
    7 oz. Crème Fraîche
3 large Onions, sliced very thin
7 oz. smoked bacon, chopped and pre cooked
    Pepper

Pour the crème fraîche over the tart shell, layer with onions and bacon, & pepper to taste. Put in the oven and bake for 5 minutes at 400°.

If you give this a try, please post how it turns out!

Great report. And have you discovered the Alsace tart at Trader Joes? Not quite the same, but a very acceptable substitute for what you get at Chefs de France.

Subbing ... I was in the World the same time as you (Dec 1-14), but was much less successful at picture taking before people ate.

Your pictures are gorgeous ... and making me hungry, so I'm going to have to come back later to read from Day 5 onward! (Lunch break!;))

    Thank you!

    Glad you enjoyed it.

No, I haven't had that, I will have to remember that, thanks.

    Thank you very much!

I am glad you enjoyed them. No I never got time to do either report for the cruise, just posted the food pics on flickr. I am hoping to label those pics one day so people know what they are looking at, but no idea when that will be.

Boy, thats a hard one. I guess for the variety of food I would pick Cape May. I love crab legs so thats a huge draw also. But really, I would have a hard time choosing just one as there are so many restaurants at wdw that have items I really like.
