Welcome to day 13..... already, seems like just last night that we were sitting down to our arrival day dinner. But we are already discussing our next Disney vacation, possibly
Disneyland in May.
Today we were at Epcot. We arrived shortly after noon and as we had an early ADR for our Candlelight Processional Dinner Pkg. (hereafter to be known as CPDP) dinner we didn't want a big lunch, so we decided on this:

Pretzel with cheese sauce.
We really like these pretzels and the cheese makes them all the better, they weren't shaped like Mickey, but they were still good.
We wandered around for a while and then headed over to Chefs de France for out CPDP dinner. We have come to really like Chefs, the food is always good and for all you guys out there, hearing those pretty french CMs talking english with that sexy french accent is just.........errrr back to the food review. There are a few things I would change about the restaurant itself 1) the tables are to close together and 2) they don't give you a pager, they just call your name, but unless you are hovering right near the door (which can be hard when its crowded) it can be hard to hear.
Luanne and I don't always get the sam entree, but we always get the same appetizers, for Luanne:

Soupe a l'oignon Gratinee - the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese
She loves loves loves this. The cheese is thick and the soup is rich and packed with flavor. Her only real problem with it is, she doesn't like her food super hot and the cheese holds in the heat so she literally had to wait a good 10-15 minutes before she good eat it, but while she was waiting for it to cool she was able to get tastes of it by dunking her share of this:

French baguette loaf
This is a nice crusty loaf, great for sopping up soup or any other liquid that you have to be sopped up.
Meanwhile I always order this:

A la Flame Alsacienne - Alsace specialty flatbread with creme fraiche, onion and bacon
I would walk a mile for this.....being as how I was at Epcot, I guess I did. Anyway, the crust is super thin, but strong enough to support the toppings.
The bacon is super flavorful and the onions have been sauted in butter. I can literally see myself someday going in to Chefs and ordering one of these for my appetizer and another for my entree and maybe on more for dessert, they are that good. But on the otherhand, I liked my entree too.
For entrees, Luanne got :

Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre vert Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
She said the steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender and tasty. She said the beans were good and the potatos were "awesome" cheesy gooey and packed with flavor.
I had :

Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms
This was crazy good, almost as good as my flatbread. The piece of meat was huge, it was an inch and 1/2 thick and super tender and loaded with beefy goodness. The pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce, ohhhhh the sauce, delicious. A word about the sauce, as I said it was delicious, but it is thinner than a gravy, more like an au jus, therefore it spatters. Now I am not the daintiest of eaters anyway, but I have splatter marks all over the front of my shirt from the sauce flinging itself off the pasta, next time I think I will just bring a bib.
For dessert Luanne had:

Fraisier, sorbet et coulis aux fruits rouges - Strawberry cake with red berry sauce and sorbet
She enjoyed this very much. I know she liked the cake, but she said the sorbet was excellent.
I ordered the:

Assiette de Sorbets du jour et son palmier - Daily assortment of fresh sorbets served with an elephant ear
This consisted of 3 sorbets, mango, coconut and pear. All 3 were packed with flavor, and the flavor was real fruit, not some artificial stuff. My favorite was probably the pear even though it was the most subtle. There were also a ton of berries piled on the sorbet, strawberries, raspberries, blue berries and huge blackberries. When compared to all the rest of the flavors happening with this dessert, the elephant ear cake was just kind of there.
We were in the restaurant almost 2 hours, some might call the service slow, but after almost 2 weeks of rush rush rush, I call it relaxing and unrushed.
After dinner we still had some time before our seating for the CP so we strolled down to Germany to hit the Wether's store to get some treats for later.
Luanne selected:

A pecan caramel bar, which she hasn't eaten yet.
I picked:

A caramel filled chocolate cookie. This was very good, I love caramel and this had plenty both inside and on top. The cookie itself was moist and tasty.
That concludes the food portion for day 13, but I wanted to say a few words about the CP. This is a beautiful program with a wonderful choir and a great orchestra. Tonights nararrator was Jodi Benson who is the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, the voice of Barbi in Toy Story .. I think 3, she has also been named a Disney Legend. We have seen the CP twice and both times she was the nararrator and does a fantastic job, without getting religious I will just say she really believes what she is saying and is excited to be saying it and, to me, that just makes the program that much better.
Tomorrow is our last full day of vacation and we will be back at Seaworld. So stayed tuned to see what Shamu serves up.
Til then...... goodnight.
