Hey!!! Don't eat that, I haven't taken a picture yet!! *Completed*

I want to know what that ganache tastes like!

The Mickey head cup is a little freaky, but I have 2 clown cups like that from the circus that are worse. I had to hide them in a high cupboard.

Later in the afternoon I got myself one of these little beauties:

The world famous Mickey Ice Cream bar. I love these, you can keep your Dove bars, and your Haagen-Dazs bars, and your Good Humor bars, For my money the Mickey bar has them all beat with rich creamy ice cream and a nice tasty think coating of chocolate, plus it shaped like a Mickey head and everyone knows that anything taste better when it shaped like that.
.....

This made me laugh. I just got back from WDW and I got my uncle totally hooked on these. I'm pretty sure he had one every day!

Yum! We're staying at pop in febmarch. That surf burger at aoa is on my list! Too bad I have far too much food on my "must try" list!

The crab and shrimp dinner looks awesome and now I want some snickerdoodles. :)
And I want some more!

i remember that chicken alfredo when i stayed at the pop, and it was delicious!
Yep, its a winner.

Just dropping by to say that I am loving your reviews :goodvibes
Thank you very much!

The ganache was very good, not overly sweet, but at the same time it was very rich.

Its a real good thing that they don't sell them in the stores, I would be buying them all the time.

Its not the amount of food on the list, its the........well I forgot where I was going with that, but have a great stay!!

Welcome to day 13..... already, seems like just last night that we were sitting down to our arrival day dinner. But we are already discussing our next Disney vacation, possibly Disneyland in May.
Today we were at Epcot. We arrived shortly after noon and as we had an early ADR for our Candlelight Processional Dinner Pkg. (hereafter to be known as CPDP) dinner we didn't want a big lunch, so we decided on this:

IMGP3968 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Pretzel with cheese sauce.
We really like these pretzels and the cheese makes them all the better, they weren't shaped like Mickey, but they were still good.

We wandered around for a while and then headed over to Chefs de France for out CPDP dinner. We have come to really like Chefs, the food is always good and for all you guys out there, hearing those pretty french CMs talking english with that sexy french accent is just.........errrr back to the food review. There are a few things I would change about the restaurant itself 1) the tables are to close together and 2) they don't give you a pager, they just call your name, but unless you are hovering right near the door (which can be hard when its crowded) it can be hard to hear.
Luanne and I don't always get the sam entree, but we always get the same appetizers, for Luanne:

IMGP4003 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Soupe a l'oignon Gratinee - the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese
She loves loves loves this. The cheese is thick and the soup is rich and packed with flavor. Her only real problem with it is, she doesn't like her food super hot and the cheese holds in the heat so she literally had to wait a good 10-15 minutes before she good eat it, but while she was waiting for it to cool she was able to get tastes of it by dunking her share of this:

IMGP4002 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
French baguette loaf
This is a nice crusty loaf, great for sopping up soup or any other liquid that you have to be sopped up.
Meanwhile I always order this:

IMGP4005 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
A la Flame Alsacienne - Alsace specialty flatbread with creme fraiche, onion and bacon
I would walk a mile for this.....being as how I was at Epcot, I guess I did. Anyway, the crust is super thin, but strong enough to support the toppings.
The bacon is super flavorful and the onions have been sauted in butter. I can literally see myself someday going in to Chefs and ordering one of these for my appetizer and another for my entree and maybe on more for dessert, they are that good. But on the otherhand, I liked my entree too.
For entrees, Luanne got :

IMGP4008 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre vert Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
She said the steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender and tasty. She said the beans were good and the potatos were "awesome" cheesy gooey and packed with flavor.
I had :

IMGP4007 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet avec pates - Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet with pasta, pearl onions and mushrooms
This was crazy good, almost as good as my flatbread. The piece of meat was huge, it was an inch and 1/2 thick and super tender and loaded with beefy goodness. The pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce, ohhhhh the sauce, delicious. A word about the sauce, as I said it was delicious, but it is thinner than a gravy, more like an au jus, therefore it spatters. Now I am not the daintiest of eaters anyway, but I have splatter marks all over the front of my shirt from the sauce flinging itself off the pasta, next time I think I will just bring a bib.
For dessert Luanne had:

IMGP4009 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Fraisier, sorbet et coulis aux fruits rouges - Strawberry cake with red berry sauce and sorbet
She enjoyed this very much. I know she liked the cake, but she said the sorbet was excellent.
I ordered the:

IMGP4011 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Assiette de Sorbets du jour et son palmier - Daily assortment of fresh sorbets served with an elephant ear
This consisted of 3 sorbets, mango, coconut and pear. All 3 were packed with flavor, and the flavor was real fruit, not some artificial stuff. My favorite was probably the pear even though it was the most subtle. There were also a ton of berries piled on the sorbet, strawberries, raspberries, blue berries and huge blackberries. When compared to all the rest of the flavors happening with this dessert, the elephant ear cake was just kind of there.
We were in the restaurant almost 2 hours, some might call the service slow, but after almost 2 weeks of rush rush rush, I call it relaxing and unrushed.

After dinner we still had some time before our seating for the CP so we strolled down to Germany to hit the Wether's store to get some treats for later.
Luanne selected:

IMGP4015 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
A pecan caramel bar, which she hasn't eaten yet.

I picked:

IMGP4014 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
A caramel filled chocolate cookie. This was very good, I love caramel and this had plenty both inside and on top. The cookie itself was moist and tasty.

That concludes the food portion for day 13, but I wanted to say a few words about the CP. This is a beautiful program with a wonderful choir and a great orchestra. Tonights nararrator was Jodi Benson who is the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, the voice of Barbi in Toy Story .. I think 3, she has also been named a Disney Legend. We have seen the CP twice and both times she was the nararrator and does a fantastic job, without getting religious I will just say she really believes what she is saying and is excited to be saying it and, to me, that just makes the program that much better.

Tomorrow is our last full day of vacation and we will be back at Seaworld. So stayed tuned to see what Shamu serves up.

Til then...... goodnight.

Oh that bacon flat bread! Since my first taste last J January I have been trying to re-create it (and have gotten fairly close with goat cheese, pizza dough, bacon and onion). I am really enjoying your reviews!

Thank you! I am going to try making that flat bread myself. But then of course if I get it right I won't have the mouth watering anticipation of Chefs de France. LOL

If anyone is wondering, since its so late and I still have to pack for the trip home, I will do the day 14 and 15 Saturday after I get home.

I can't believe we still haven't got round to trying Chefs - we aim to put that right next trip!

I SO agree with you on that!!! I discovered it on our last trip in October and I am hooked!!!:worship:

Hello all. Vacation is over and I am back at work as I type this. I will be combining days 14 and 15. I actually had this almost completed when the dog, who decided to remind me how happy she was that I was home hopped in my lap and in the process managed to hit a key on the computer erasing all my work LOL.

So on day 14 we were back at Seaworld and again purchased the All-day Dining. To start off we stopped at the Seafire Inn where Luanne got:

IMGP4050 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Roast turkey sandwich on a pretzel roll.
She really liked this, it was thick sliced turkey and had a lot of it, with lettuce and tomato. I was worried the pretzel roll would be to touch and all the sandwich innards would shoot out when she tried to take a bite, but turned out that wasn't the case. The turkey for her sandwich and what I ordered was sliced right in front of us.
I had:

IMGP4051 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Roast turkey with mashed potatos and gravy in a sourdough breadbowl. I enjoyed this with one exception, it really needed more gravy. Once you ate the turkey and potatos you were left with a reletively dry bread bowl, so more gravy would have been nice.
For dessert we got:

IMGP4098 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
chocolate chip cookies for me and:

IMGP4099 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Cocolate cake for Luanne.
The cookies were your basic scoop and bake style and I liked them , but nothing special. The cake was your typical chocolate cake and Luanne enjoyed it.
Later in the day we went to the Spice Mill where we both had:

IMGP4245 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
They called it a club, but it was more of a cold cut combo on a multi-grain roll. It had ham, turkey and something that looked like salami with lettuce and tomato. It was fresh and had good flavor. Slightly dry with the big roll, but a couple packs of mayo solved that.
I also got:

IMGP4247 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
Cocolate pudding, nothing fancy, just pudding and whipped cream and I thought it was just fine.
Towards the end of the day we were passing Seaport Pizza and decided to grab:

IMGP4300 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
This was typical theme park pizza, thick crust and to few toppings. It tasted fine but I won't be planning my next vacation around this.

Day 15
Today was the day they were making us leave so we headed over to Downtown Disney Market place to do some last minute shopping. We decided to have one final meal at Wolfgang Puck Express. I was hoping to try the meatloaf sandwich but it was to early so Luanne and I both wound up getting:

IMGP4345 by VikingInMouseEars, on Flickr
The breakfast pizza with bacon, eggs, tomatos and WPE housemade ranch dressing. This was another hit for Wolfgang, lots of good flavors that went well together. One more reason to frequent WPE next trip.

That wraps up my live food review. I really hope you enjoyed reading it and looking at the pictures as much as I did writing it. I also hope that it brought some new things to your attention that you want to look into trying on your next Disney Vacation.
If you have clicked on one of my pictures and went to my flickr page, those other pictures of wonderful looking food are from the Disney Wonder cruise Luanne and I took in Sept.

I want to thank you again for taking the time to read this report and all the nice comments I received.
Good eating and so long.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your reviews and pics:goodvibes I hate to see them end!

Terri

Great reviews! I am really starting to think that the reason I love WDW so much has nothing to do with the parks but for the amazing food!!! I am literally drooling looking at your pictures! Your Cookes of Dublin review has me thinking I need to check this one out! Great report, thanks for sharing!
