Thank you Sherry! I'll take the PM direct rout next time. Looks like the sell, outs have started...
Mike

They have, indeed -- and I have added them to page 1, in both the MHP FAQ post, and the Dates to Remember post!

Edited to add: It's always interesting to me to see which date sells out first, which one sells out second, etc. I was not expecting this year's first sell out to be 10/29, for some reason!

I'm starting to see various pumpkin flavored goodies pop up in multiple stores. That means Halloween season is almost here!! Counting down the days...

Well, you know I have been stalking the weekly circulars and Impulsive Buy website on a daily basis, looking for signs of fall and Halloween as they appear on store shelves! Pumpkin Pandemonium is here! I can't even begin to express my glee over the new M&M's Halloween flavor, Boo-tterscotch. I am also a fan of Glade's new fall collection (unlike that silly "Fall Antiquing" and "Pumpkin Pit Stop" business from 2015). I'm so sick of summer (which is usually the case in August of every year) and want it to end.

You must tell me -- is Fall Frolic kitty litter back again this year? Because, of course, cats have to get in on the autumnal action too.

LOL I totally forgot about the kitty litter! I haven't seen it yet but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Boo-tterscotch M&Ms did arrive today and a package was promptly opened for sampling. I really, really like them but they are very sweet so I could only have a few at a time.

A few other pumpkin items that I've noticed rolling in are Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, Mini Wheats, Oatmeal, and my favorite Pumpkin Pop Tarts. Pumpkin Spice and Candy Corn Oreos are also making a return for 2016. I'm excited for all of our fall and Halloween displays to start going up in the next few weeks!!

It's to the point now where if I don't see some sign of something Halloween-ish or Fall-ish by, say, the end of July, I start to think the stores are taking too long. I usually assume that Costco will have some things out in July. Other places should start to roll out some of their stock in August, even if it's a slow build over a month.

Oh, that's too bad that the Boo-tterscotch M&M's are so sweet. Wasn't that the problem with the Candy Corn M&M's too? Too sugary?

I guess Oreos ran out of new and inventive Fall Flavors, so they have to resort to the tried and true Candy Corn and Pumpkin Spice flavors. I finally tried Pumpkin Spice Oreos earlier this year and I liked them much more than I thought I would -- they didn't taste all that pumpkin-y, really. I also tried the Quaker Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal, and the Pumpkin Spice Hostess Donettes. Nothing tasted very pumpkin-y, but they were good.

I think it was Tidy Cat that had the Fall Frolic litter. That was a turning point in Pumpkin Pandemonium/Halloween Hoopla, for sure. What I never found out was if there was a holiday/Christmas version too.

Where are you guys finding this awesome stuff??? Just to let yu know me and my mom went to the Main Place in Santa Ana, CA last week and we saw that Halloween stuff was up at the Hallmark store there. I have not seen any Halloween things up yet anywhere else yet but, there is a Spirit Halloween store opening up where I live in Orange, CA. It looks like it's all set up to open up very soon.

Just got off the phone with Disney Dining trying to make reservations and the rep told me there would be no Mystic Spirits of the Blue Bayou this year but there is some other thing planned that will be announced early September. I am kind of hoping she is smokin crack because she also said they were getting rid of the Frozen Pre-show after the 60th. Perhaps you all knew about the Mystic SPirits being cancelled but I thought I would share.

That is completely weird because I got my Disney Chase circular for the fall and it specifically mentioned Mystic Spirits at the Blue Bayou. I'm at work and I don't have it in front of me otherwise I would find the exact quote and page. Maybe someone else has it. Hopefully she was just misinformed and someone else will know for certain. I would try calling again and see if you get a different answer and let them know that it was specifically mentioned in the Disney Chase newsletter.

This is not available as of yet. It says under dining and Blue Bayou restaurant that it is coming soon. It doesn't have a specific name besides Halloween dinner which is offered during the Halloween parties.

I got the same news letter and posted it on this thread word for word what the mailer states. This isn't available yet that's all.

The lady on the phone said that they have no idea what Chase was thinking with that circular because it is not happening and was never planned to happen this year. She seemed to know what she was talking about. She did say they have something else in its place but no one will know what it is until September. I tried to book other things and she said those were not available yet because they didn't have the park schedule for October yet. But this one we had an entire conversation about. I even tried to get her to tell me what they are planning in its place. Just passing on what I heard. Don't kill the messenger! I will be happy to be wrong!

Maybe we'll have to try some of that litter. Our kitties do lots of things in the box <eyeroll>, but they never frolic! LOL.

:lmao: Then this litter may do the trick, and get them a-frolickin' in no time! I don't know if Tidy Cat has put out other seasonal varieties of the litter too, or if they are just partial to Fall. Maybe they can do a Winter Wiggle variety.

Target is always a good place to look for exclusive versions of M&M's or Oreos. Walmart has them too (but they have different exclusives). The Glade fall collection is out in stores now.

To be honest, yesterday, when I was updating assorted posts on page 1 of this thread, I really hesitated to mention anything about Mystical Spirits because the wording on the Disneyland website about a "Halloween Dinner" at the Blue Bayou did not seem to reference MSotBB at all. That seemed to be a deliberate omission. I figured that the event might return, but with a different name, and viewing for the "Frightfully Fun Parade."

However, I saw the "Mystics Spirits" (that's how it was spelled) Blue Bayou dinner referenced in the Disney Visa Fall newsletter, so I figured that it might be returning with that name.

In any event, what I suspect DLR is doing is presenting a new Blue Bayou dinner package for the MHP, with a new name and slightly new theme (while still being Halloween-appropriate). I don't think they are going to pass up a chance to make that extra money... but this might be an event with different characters, and not Facilier, etc., from last year.

If this new event were going to be part of every MHP night, however, the reservations should be open and we shouldn't have to wait until early September. So it makes me wonder if they are only going to have this Blue Bayou dinner on certain MHP nights, but not all of them.

Yes, indeed -- there is a reference to "Mystics Spirits" over on the right side of page 4 in the newsletter. I have it.

Two things to remember here are that:

1) I think that the Disney Visa newsletter is put together way in advance, and it doesn't always have the most up-to-the-minute info in it, including any changes in entertainment. Last year, the Fall newsletter referred to the Halloween Carnival returning... and it came out after I had already found out and told everyone in the previous Halloween Time Superthread that the Halloween Carnival was not returning. People were saying, "but it says Halloween Carnival in the Visa newsletter," and I kept saying that the Halloween Carnival was not coming back. And it did not come back. So that told me that the Disney Visa folks probably had older info that couldn't be changed to reflect the new info, because the circular had already gone to press; and

2) The Cast Members on the phone lines at DLR are the last ones to know anything. I say this every year. I believe that there is a new version of the dinner in the works, so that is probably accurate. But I would not be shocked if the details of the event come out before they actually learn about it at DLR, and I would not be shocked if calling DLR again results in finding a CM who says that MSotBB is returning (only to later be proven incorrect)!! They are known for giving out conflicting info at DLR.

So, I think it's another waiting game, where we await news and info coming in from the Parks Blog, or from the rumor mill!

Remember, everyone -- especially if you're new to Halloween Time at DLR and new to any version of the Halloween Time Superthread -- you can find a lot of info and links to more info in the assorted posts on page 1 of this thread. Highlights include:

Post #2 -- Halloween Time Highlight Reel (what's new and what is returning this year, at a glance -- though, keep in mind that I might have to remove the references to Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou once we get that sorted out!)

Post #3 -- Days/Dates/Events to Remember for the 2016 Halloween Time Season (this is where I am tracking the sellout dates of MHP)

Post #4 -- Mickey's Halloween Party -- Frequently Asked Questions

Post #6 -- General Information About Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

Post #7 -- Disneyland Park -- Seasonal Highlights/Events/Decorations (Lots of stuff about Haunted Mansion Holiday)

Post #9 -- Ghoulish Grub, Terrifying Treats and Perilous Potions

Post #10 -- Monstrous Merchandise, Creepy Collectibles and Scary Souvenirs

Post #11 -- Hotels of the Disneyland Resort (any seasonal events or decorations)

Post #17 -- Photos (of the dearly departed Halloween Carnival/Halloween Roundup)

Post #18 -- More Photos (Dia de los Muertos display and the Ray Bradbury Halloween Tree)

Post #19 -- Even More Photos (Main Street Pumpkin Festival)

There are other posts on the page that I have to fill in or do something with, but most of the essential info is in the posts mentioned above.

Arrrggghhhh. My browser is acting up when I try to edit my posts.

I don't know what the exact dates would be to remove the SMGG overlay, but I would have to imagine that SMGG will close right after 10/31. Unless there is an extensive refurb planned, it should only be down a few days.

The SMGG installation is happening from 9/6 through 9/8.

This may have been addressed somewhere in the 28 pages I didn't read (sorry). We're going for our first-ever Halloweentime the third weekend in October. I have an ADR at Cafe Orleans on Friday evening, which is an MHP night. We haven't yet decided whether or not to do the MHP (I know we must decide quickly lest it sell out while we're anguishing about it), but, if we don't, will our lingering over dinner be a problem? Will they rush us out of there at 7:00 pm, or let us finish. DD8 is a pretty slow eater, especially if she's distracted.

They won't be pushing you out the door, but they will want you to be done by 7pm, if possible. I think a CM can escort you out of the park if your DD clearly can't finish her food. Of course, you could ask for a to-go box and she could eat in the hotel room later, too. (We do this sometimes when I can't eat fast enough.)

I was wondering about the wording so far about the Blue Bayou dinner. It didn't mention anything about entertainment during dinner, or Halloween Screams seating, just the parade and a 3-course dinner. It's sounding quit a bit like the Paint the Night package, dinner with parade seating.

The entertainment is what MADE that dinner last year (and seeing the Haunted Mansion characters!) so I'd be pretty bummed to see that go. However, the experience did eat up a majority of party time, so maybe that's why they may be just sticking to dinner.

Husband kinda freaked out about the already sold out dates so he purchased us tickets for the October 17th & 19th parties. We've only been to the party at WDW so we're both excited to see the differences. We've also thought about doing the Happy Haunts tour, but we've not really read that many good reviews on it.
