DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

But that's a whole $0.30 after taxes and you get a lunch break every day. :thumbsup2 Funny how that works.

Good luck getting that boy of yours back home for the summer!

Now if only I got an expense account for that lunch break...

And thanks, I don't figure we'll have too much trouble loading out, but the cleaning up effort for an apartment that had four college guys in it for a whole term...
That may take a bit of doing.

You're supposed to love them????

Guess I'll have to stop beating them with sticks, then.

Of course not...
Yah you gott'a love 'em (it's in the fine print)
but the beating should most certainly continue...
At least until moral improves.

Oh I took part as well so I know what you were talking about
(and I'll give that a listen this evening after I get home).

I'm just sayin':
That's what you do.

Nothing all that special on our part, nothing that needs a pat on the back.
Just doing the right thing if you really think about it.
Which I do believe this group does pretty much all the time.
I do think Aaron should be recognized for the work of organizing things though.

Good Morning DISDad Club! Proud to be a member this morning! :worship:

Agreed! :thumbsup2

Did you Dutch oven your DW last night or something?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't know...
Pretty sure we didn't do anything far different then we would have on any other given day.
Or that's deserving of all that much accolade.

As I've said many times before...
That's what you do.

There's some truth to that, but you don't see things happen like this very often. So I'm proud to be part of a group that saw a need and went above and beyond to take care of it.

I do think Aaron should be recognized for the work of organizing things though.

Definitely!:thumbsup2

Not a thing...
Normamlly.

But he needs to move out of the apartment so there's more "stuff" then can be "stuffed" into his car alone.
That and we want to make sure that everything is cleaned up enough to pass inspection.
If not, they bring in a cleaning crew and send us the bill.
.

Does moving out mean he is done? Or just done with the semester and he has to move back to the dorm? Do they still do dorms by grade level?

Anyway, enjoy the company this summer.

Just done for the year; two more after this (at least on my dime, that is).

At WCU they do have a specific set of dorms for the freshmen, but after that you can apply to be set up in whichever dorm you’d like. It may cost more depending on the location and amenities though.

We went a different route this year. There are a couple of apartment complexes abound the campus that were built specifically for students. Cost wise, they’re only about $20ish more per month then the average dorm, but offer better living conditions. Max shares one apartment with three other folks. They have a common living room, kitchen and laundry, but each has their own bedroom/bathroom space with a deadbolt for privacy and security. We’re going to go that route again next semester, but if everyone moves out for the summer, the owners can rent the unit short term to folks coming in for summer seminars and the like to defray the costs a bit.

And one tough pirate at that.

Sorry that didn't go well, glad it wasn't worse.
May it heal well and quickly.

Sorry that she did that. Pass a hug on to her. BTW that last picture is a keeper.

I'm surprised they did anything at all, actually.
I did something very similar. The doc took one look, said "We don't really do anything for that."
And sent me on my way.
I didn't even get a lollipop out of the deal.

She is OK and she is a tough Pirate. Randall told her about your hug, she said, "A hug from Santa!" They didn't do much at the ER. All they did was take an X-Ray, put a splint on it and wrap it up.

I think her plan is to break everything now and use all your health insurance. Once again, smart kid you raised. You should set that middle finger picture on your FB wall. Or, at a minimum, include a copy in the envelope everytime you mail a tuition payment. :rotfl:

I like the idea of sending it with the tuition payment. Only two more left.

Afternoon fellas, almost one more day closer to the July cruise. Seems like everyone here is doing well, and our leader is especially cheerful this morning.

And thanks, I don't figure we'll have too much trouble loading out, but the cleaning up effort for an apartment that had four college guys in it for a whole term...

Do not want to hear about the mess and things you find in the apartment :rolleyes1

Glad to hear she is o.k. the finger pic was pretty good though........

Less than 60 hours until we pull chocks and head south. Have to keep an eye on that weather system off of florida. Might have to take the western route through the Carolinas if it moves inland. BTW, my dad had a fractured finger tip once when a piece got knocked off the milling machine he was operating. Developed Osteomylitis (bone infection) and his finger blew up like a balloon. Had two choices, lose the finger, or spend several weeks in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Maybe they do it differently now, but not something to be take lightly.

Yea, we did good.

There's an apple falling close to a tree joke in there somewhere.:rotfl2::lmao: Hope it heals quickly and give her our best. Mine heads to Canada next week Not quite Indonesia, but it's a start.

I am not known for my grace but her mother was even worse. Why Canada? Going undercover to thwart the Penguin invasion?

You're supposed to love them????

Nah.

You only use sticks?

Have a blast! The risk of infection is why they didn't drain the fluid out of it. Swelling is going down so I think she is going to be OK. They want us to see a specialist when she gets home. She already is seeing her doc to get shots for the trip and we will see what they say.

So after working 32 of the last 48 hours, I was pretty zombie like.
But I had stuff to do up until 11pm last night.
Better fortify myself with some caffeine, or it ain't happening.

Worked like a charm.
Really well.
Amazingly well...

Kept me up until after 2am.
It was awesome when the alarm went off at 5am.

We'll be at WDW May 26-28 if anyone else is there at the same time, staying at AoA.

Hi Philip, Welcome Back! This is what I have from Page One, moose615 => 23 - 27 AKV & Wherem I Now => 25 - 29 DCL Dream, 29 - June 3 OKW

Just poppin' in to say "Hi!" I see the boards went and got a new look. fancy.

Hi James, Welcome Back to You Too!

I haven't been away as long as Philip or James, but it looks like a reunion up in here, so I thought I'd pop in as well. I skimmed back a few pages, so forgive me if I missed anything, but
Darcy - congrats to the Declan on the basketball.
CJ - good luck to Crash in Indonesia. UW Milwaukee has a school of freshwater sciences that does a lot of work in Lake Michigan. Not quite as glamours as south east Asia, but a lot closer to home if you can get her to change her mind. Hope the finger heals up soon.
Welcome to the new guy(s)!
