Thanks, Janet and Deb! I'm looking forward to another good day today! Eating right and getting a little exercise really does feel better.

I have major weight to lose too (over 100 pounds any way you look at it) but I am also breaking it down. I want to average 2 or 3 pounds a week. We are leaving for California in 10 weeks, which would be 20-30 pounds by then. I have already lost 25 pounds and I would be exstatic for 25 more. :dance3:

I have been trying to cut down eating at my desk at work, which is my worst downfall. Nighttime eating can be bad for me too, especially after the kids go to sleep and there's no one to see the calories I'm packing away! :scared1: I also am trying to do 30-45 minutes of exercise daily, usually a combination of walking the dog, treadmill and Wii Fit, which we just got over the weekend. Talk about accountability, at least to yourself! :laughing:I am doing an official weigh in on Friday morning, but the Wii Fit tells you your weight and BMI every time you use it, and you are supposed to use it daily.

I look forward to giving and receiving support. It's nice to know there are others out there working the same as I am.:wizard:

Welcome! I also have over 100 pounds to lose, but I'm putting my blinders on to that for now. As I said in my previous post, I'm doing it in small increments. My first goal is -22 pounds.

It sounds like you are off to a great start! If you ever need a little extra pep talk, come here or feel free to PM me.

I need a pep talk. I've been horrible for about 4 weeks now. This week I'm attributing it to all the stress at work, and there certainly has been plenty of that. With that said the kids go back to school next week and my stress level at work should decrease significantly so I need to recommit. Make me do it ladies, make me do it.

Thanks for the welcome! I always do well on a diet for the first 25-50 pounds then I go off "just for a little bit" and the weight piles back on. This time I am hoping to be able to stick with it till the end. Its really challenging when you look at it and it's a long term commitment. I am trying really hard to make it a lifestyle change rather than a "diet." Everything I read says we need to commit to being healthy rather than dieting. That's my true goal.

I know how hard it is to keep with it, and stress and kids are easy to focus on. Keep in mind that exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Maybe get a Yoga video or Aerobics if you like that, and pop it in for a little "me" time, away from all of the stress. Have hubby or a friend take the kiddos to the park or somewhere and focus on you...do your workout and then soak in a hot bath if you like that or have a pedicure, or whatever makes you feel good.

My son always says "fake it till you make it," in other words, if you pretend that something is true, eventually even you believe it and it becomes true.

Good luck and don't wait until Monday to get back on track. Wednesday is the best day to start, according to some dumb survey.

Amen sista. Taking the weight off is so much easier than keeping it off. I lost 50 lbs back in 2003 and it has been a huge commitment on my part to keep most of it off. I tend to gain over the winter and lose after the New Year, but each year it gets harder. Weight Watchers is a good plan and it is something that you can live on, but it does start with a new mindset.

My kids aren't the problem, it's the 300 kids that I've been watching in the pool this week. :rotfl: I'm a lifeguard at an aquatics center. We have a fitness club there and I should be able to carve out some time next week to start using it again. I need to get back into swimming a mile each day too.

Deb, you can do it! Try to find something that you can use for the stress instead of food. Make yourself walk away and do something for 10 min--a brisk walk, some stretching, relaxation exercise, anything that keeps you away from that food. I know it's much easier said than done, but if you really think about it, you can walk away. You are a strong lady!

It really does need to be a lifestyle change, and that is why I'm taking it slowly this time. I'm making sure that I can get each change to stick before I add in too much more.

I don't have any solid plans or goals yet, but today I went to the gym. First time ever. I guess I will now try to make this into a habit before I plan to go there more than once a week...

Wow, you're doing amazing. This thread hasn't been very active in a while. I found the Biggest Loser thread over on the W.I.S.H. forum. Anyone can join at any time and there are tons of daily posts which definitely help with motivation. Keep up the good work.

Wow -- great job! I've been looking for motivation. Thanks for posting -- maybe it will help jump-start me. I lost 6o pounds after the birth of my son through Weight Watchers. Every year it seems I put on a few winter pounds. This year, I started back with less to lose than last year, but it's still 8 or more pounds. That is not to say I'll be slim at that point, just a good healthy weight for my size, which is a size 8 or so, depending on the style. I'm starting later than I usually do as I've been sick most of the winter (sinus stuff) and I've had no motivation so far up until this week. This is the second day I feel in control of my points.

Good luck to you and Way To Go!

    Hi Deb! :)

    Hi Marci :wave2:

I agree a size 8 is where I like to be too. Of course each year it is a little harder to shed the winter weight. Growing old has such benefits :scared:

I guess I am jumping in to take the plunge to loose 25#..
I am only 5' so as you can see, I need to get this weight off....my downfall is after dinner...so, tonight I have a new pack of gum in front of me, and yet, I found a way to eat 3 pretzels....I know I have to do this..tomorrow I will start my walking. I have to go into town to do it as the road I live on will kill me if I walk it...I need prayers please and thank you all...
