I'm thinking you will be fine to do the quiet pools, but not the main pool.

I don't get this. there are no rooms around the dig site at all. but there are rooms right by any of the quiet pools. so I would think he would "bother" (if at all) less people at the dig site.

hubby loves to go to the dig site early in the morning.. ok, maybe more like 8 AM. he likely won't go in the water for quite some time, but he likes to go down there (or any main pool at any resort) early, before all the kids get there. when it's quiet. sit on a lounger, sip his coffee, read his book, or newspaper.

funny thing. he will be there with about 50 empty lounge chairs around him.. no one but him... when the first family, usuallywith a bunch ofkids, shows up. for some strange reason, they always throw their towels and stuff on the lounge chairs RIGHT next to him! never fails!!:rotfl:

I just wanted to see my counter--exactly three more weeks and I'll be at CSR.:cool1: :cool1: I sooooo need this vacation!:rotfl: I keep telling myself only 21 more days and only 14 more work days.:rotfl: Hoping for a room somewhere in the Cabanas!

I don't quite understand, either, but of the three resorts I have been to at Disney, the main pool has always been closed without lifeguards (SAB--BC and Ole Man Isle--POR, and the pool at POFQ), but the quiet pools, which typically don't have life guards remain open.

All of those quiet pools are near rooms, but Ole Man Isle is, well, on an island. With SAB, of course, there is the potential for pool hoppers. Perhaps it's because of the slides and the potential for more danger with all of the "stuff" (for lack of a better term) at the feature pools?

I made it to page 78 and had to stop reading so I could finally post! Hi, everyone!!! :goodvibes

I spent my childhood taking day trips to WDW - grew up about an hour away. It has been more than 10 years since we last visited - our youngest two children do not remember anything about our trip, as they were both under 3 years old at the time! We've been planning this trip since December, and I think we FINALLY have everything nailed down! We started out as a group of 6 (me, DH, and the Fab Four <-- our great kids!) and we're now down to a travel party of 4. We'll be staying at CSR in a preferred room w/ Free DDP. I am guilty of being a resort changer, that is true... but, I'm more excited now than ever! :rolleyes1

After reading a big part of this thread, I am so happy that we are going to be staying at CSR! Thank you all so much for providing such a great source of information for everyone - I am ridiculously excited!!!

We are booked at Coronado Springs 8/15-8/19!! I haven't made it all the way through the thread, but I'm working on it!
Also, testing my ticker!

How do I make the ticker show up on all of my posts? I've created it, and gotten to the point where I have code snippets, but don't know what to do with them!

Copy & paste the following into your signature from within the control settings:

Then put a at the end & it should work.

Hopefully that'll work.

We will be there around he same time!

If the pool opens at 10 does the opening ceremony thing for he kids happen at 10 too?

Do you think the hotel will be more crowded without a convention because everyone tryst to avoid them?
thanks!

I don't know about the pool opening, but I am HOPING that because these dates fall in between free dining dates and that there are no conventions, things will be quieter...NOT crowded!!

Just because no conventions happen to be listed, does not mean there will be none in attendance. Last October, Burlington Coat Factory was there. Prior to my trip, I saw nothing about BCF being there.

Even if there is a convention, don't let it ruin your trip! They will most likely be in the convention center :goodvibes

so excited for our first stay at CSR in only 11 days! :cool1:

I have heard lots about the hotel not feeling very disney-ish because of the convention part of the resort but hope this isnt the case....

What's the charge if I have to collect a package from the business center? I want to buy some clothes for the kids I look after and it seems that Carters uses FedEx

We were a CSR a few weeks ago and I have two questions for the experts.

First, I left envelopes for mousekeeping every day and they never took them. They were printed with Disney-themed designs and said "For Mousekeeping" on them. I tried leaving them in different locations in case they didn't notice them on the desk where I left them the first day. I ended up leaving the whole set of envelopes when we checked out and hopefully they took them at that point! Has anyone had this issue before?

Second, I thought the refillable mugs were only good at the resort, not in the parks. Has that changed? I saw a lot of people using them at the parks (but maybe they either filled them with water or paid for their drink).

We had a great stay at CSR even though we didn't get our location request. We wanted Casitas 4 or 5 and they put us in Ranchos. We asked if they could move us but there was a convention there so there wasn't room in Casitas. Ranchos was lovely - beautiful landscapping. But DH hated the long walk to El Centro (he wanted coffee every morning and not from the in-room machine which is what I had planned for :headache:).

For at least half of the days that we were at CSR mousekeeping did not take the envelopes that I left for them. I thought they were well marked and in obvious places but we came back at night only to find the envelopes still there :confused3

It's my first time staying on property in a few weeks, what is the commonly accepted tip per day for mousekeeping?

I brought along the customary amount ($1 per person per day, plus $1) for each of the 4 days we were there.

I put each day's offering in an envelope printed with a "For Mousekeeping" design and positioned my daughter's Buzz Lightyear figure on the table between the beds, holding the envelope in his outstretched arms. For good measure, I also put the small blue Mousekeeping tentcard on top of the envelope.

Each night when we came back, the envelope was gone.

Didn't get any special towel animals other than the original bird on a triangle-folded washcloth that was in the window when we got the room.

On the last 2 nights, our daughters' Disney toys were arranged on one of the beds in a nice grouping.

That's the only pixie dust the tips got us. Was hoping for a little more like I had seen on here before. Maybe my expectations were too high.

$1 per person per day, plus $1.

Also, I had to call the front desk each day to request Mousekeeping as they had a doorhanger in the bathroom saying they only changed sheets every 3 or so days to save energy and if you wanted it more frequently, you had to call and request it.

They don't call themselves Mousekeeping. It's possible they didn't know who those envelopes were for.
