THE PLANNING TRIP
DAY 1
We left after I got off work on Saturday and got to the airport in time to make the earlier flight and they actually had room for us
Any extra Disney time I can get I will take
Here is a shot of DF and I on the plane
We had scheduled our trip to fall on my birthday, so we could get some extra perks. DF suddenly pulls this out of his bag during the flight and said I got one of my presents early (my bday wasn't until Tuesday)
I had gotten DF some pin trading pins off of ebay for his Bday in February so he would have some to trade on our trip. He stole my idea and got me the baby princess pins for me to have
and here is a shot of what my lanyard looked like with all of them on there
I thought it was all very sweet of him
Once we landed it was off to the magical express, here is the obligatory first ride of the trip shot
Then I saw these cute flower displays while waiting to check in at ME
So I got us checked in and then we were off to wait in line
The people in line behind us were nice enough to take this pic for us...and I managed to talk them out of charging us for it...lol
I was expecting to have to wait a while, but the pixie dust was in full effect, so we only waited like 2 minutes before it was off to load the bus
I had never seen the entry gates at night, so it was really cool, but the pics aren't too great...sorry
So we get to SSR and go to check in and our ressie isn't right
they didn't have it booked with dining so they had to go behind the magic door and do some changing for us. Needless to say this took a while and was pretty stressful. Since we had gotten on the early flight, we didn't get a chance to eat dinner at the airport in Dallas, and we were starving by time we got there
With the dining plan being the snag we had to wait for it, by time it was figured out, all the quickservice
DDP places were closed and all that was left was Planet Hollywood or House of Blues on DTD Westside, so we hoofed it over there asap and Disney picked up the tab at Planet Hollywood. I was so hungry and stressed out by time we got there that I forgot food porn pics, but I did get a few of the surroundings
We had the Texas Tostadas appetizer which was quite yummy, then for entrees, I had the chicken fajitas, not so great, DF had the chicken and broccoli pasta, which was pretty good, and mom had the teriyaki salmon which was very good. And of course we had to have the brownie sundae for dessert which was yummy, but had more whipped cream than ice cream
The food was overall good, but if you are used to some of the other WDW restaurants, this just doesn't have the magic to it and is really loud so no visiting with your dinner mates.
After all the stressing and tons of food it was time to roll ourselves out of there and catch the bus back to SSR. We crashed for the night so we could hit DAK in the morning...more to come
