The online dining reservation did not work for me so I had to email my TA (at 5:30 this morning) and she was able to get everything I wanted.
I am eating at Crystal Palace, O'hanna's, Le Cellier, Sci-fi,
HDDR,
Rose and Crown, 50's Primetime Cafe,
Boma, Liberty Tavern, and Tony's. The only one I think I am going to change is CP. I wanted breakfast before the park opened but I could only get in at 9am. I think I will see if I can switch LTT and CP that day.
It was very neat. I was actually surprised that my dd liked it as much as she did. We are going back tomorrow because she wants to bring her daddy. (Maybe this time I will remember my camera so I can take pictures for my Dis friends.
)
I was talking to my mother about all the testing and she said she was glad she taught in our Church school. She didn't have to do all that testing. Actually I think I am going to be her teacher. We are leaning towards homeschooling.
Oui. I am so glad you get to try a new resort and new resturants.
We have not been to the three I highlighted, but we have been to all the others. It's nice to do some old favorites and and a new one or two each trip. We do a lot of counter service and just a few table service, so it's going to be a while before we get to every Disney restaurant.
Yes, pictures of the Christmas Train...please!
Homeschooling sounds good. There are so many avenues of having them socialize with other kids on field trips and play sports, etc. that it is now a really nice option. They aren't at all 'isolated', like people might think.
You will love POFQ everything is just a little walk away. Their food court is not as big as Pop Century, but they have beignets, which are great. The store is not as big and does not open until 8:00, which puts a dent in early morning shopping or looking but it has a lot for it's size. Next door at PORS the shop is great so walk on over and enjoy the river or have fun on the boat.
There will be new fountains to take pictures of Brooklynn enjoying, and playing in to add to your wall. She might even be able to go down the slide at the Dragon pool.
The rooms have two sinks, which I love when everyone is trying to get dressed in the morning, plus the privacy curtain to block out the light if someone is still asleep. On morning when DH would get up at 4:30 to run this come in handy, or if I wanted to read half the night I had my own private reading room just pull up a chair and pull the curtain.
You will love POFQ.
I've had beignets there twice. Warm, sugar-coated deliciousness!
It'll be interesting to see if Brooklynn will brave the slide. She's funny about some things. The fact that it is a sea serpent could either make it too scary or ultimately cool, depending on how her three year old mind is running at the time.
I will miss 6 a.m. shopping at Pop. 8:00? Half the day is gone by then!
YAY for a resort change!!!
I have heard amazing things about POFQ including those beignettes...I'm thinking of going there just to get a box one morning before a rope drop!!!!! I'm now looking forward to your early morning pictures at that resort!! This trip keeps getting more and more exciting...what other changes do you two have up your sleeves!
I'm looking forward to exploring on my morning walks, too. We've been there several times, but never for early morning walks, so that will be new.
Ok, you got me.
I couldn't believe you were going to stay off property. I was kinda wondering what could be better than a Disney resort. Whew! scared me there for a minute.
POFQ. I've never even been there let alone stay there. Sounds great and please take lots of pictures (I know you will
)
If things work the way I'm hoping, We'll be going to Disney next July. Our girls have International Youth Convention in Orlando on July 15,16,17,18th. I don't know if their group will be flying or driving. If they drive, hopefully they'll leave on July 13th and DH and I will drop them off at the church and then we'll head south ourselves. We hope to arrive at Disney on the 15th and probably see the girls there one of their IYC dates. Their group is supposed to visit Disney 1 day. DH and I will have 3-4 days to ourselves. Then we'll pick up the girls from their convention and they can spend the next 5-7 days at Disney with us and then we'll all come home together. We don't know anything for sure yet, but that's what we're hoping.
Will you guys be down there then? If so, it would be fun to get to meet up.
The day
may come that we get a house close to WDW on our trips, but that's far off in the future.
I think we're going to be going the last week in June up through the first part of July next year. They are planning to back camp up a week and let the senior high kids go last, so that would mean that I have to do vacation between summer school and camp. I think we'll be back home by the time you go, but it just depends on exactly what week they plan for camp.
I hope you love it there! We stayed there in 2002 and 2004 when our kids were small enough. We love the atmosphere of that resort. Yes, the store is small, but like a pp said you are close enough to take a nice little walk to POR. It will be nice to see what you discover, on film, at a new resort.
I think we will. We've walked through it several times, and it has such a quaint feel to it. This has just made things more exciting!
Oooooooh, new "morning walk" pictures! I'm so excited for you!!!
Denise
Me, too. I hope their morning CM's are ready for the lady with the camera to join them. I think the Pop workers just already expect to see me.
Okay, if I hadn't hit "last page" and seen a post saying that you would love POFQ, and then skipped back a page to read, I would also have been shocked by the whole "offsite" thing!
We've never stayed at POFQ, only Riverside, but it looks so nice! I can't wait to see your early morning pictures from there.
Aw shucks. I didn't get to see your surprised face!
I'll probably walk to Riverside early one morning, too.
Glad you have a date for your surgery. Hope it all goes well. I too am looking forward to being able to walk instead of hobble around Disney World.
I've always wanted to stay at POFQ but always managed to end up at Riverside. Looking forward to your early AM pictures.
I'm sure it will be quick and easy, and I'll be happy to be skipping happily around Disney World with my girls soon!
Jill has stayed at Riverside, but it is still on my 'To Do' list.
Great news !!! I know I am going to love the pictures from POFQ !
Glad you will have your knee all fixed up and ready to walk in the world.
Here's
for a sucessful surgery and a quick recovery.
You may see more of French Quarter than you ever thought you'd see!

Thanks for all the well wishes for the knee repair. I'm sure it will be nothing. They go over all the formal stuff with you, even for a small procedure. You know, the 'you'll be under anesthesia so you could die, but you probably won't' speech. And then there was the secondary, 'you could get a blood clot and die, but you probably won't' speech.
