    Ideal age for Disneyland?

Disneyland is so much more than rides, too. My 2 yo LOVED the parades and characters. If you only take her once in her life, maybe wait until she's 7. But if you've got a few visits up your sleeve, 2 years old is about as magical as it gets - and that's VERY magical. I wouldn't miss it.

Woohoo!! And who said size doesn't matter...

Height requirements also protect children against caretakers that want to throw them on any and every ride available. If a child is really going to be scared, but the caretaker really wants them on the ride, who's going to win? In this case, the height requirement wins and a child is protected...

    I need flight advice

I'm pretty sure 1-year olds can sit in your lap. Isn't it free if they do? That would make this a non-issue, wouldn't it? And you'd save money. As far as sitting the 5-year old alone, we need to undertand that unattended children are unattended children. They are always boarded first and...

Woohoo!! And who said size doesn't matter...

It's really not "us as parents" that are qualified to determine if it's safe. That's why they employ engineers and thoroughly test rides before making their height requirements. When it comes to safety, experience and education mean more than what a parent "feels" (or just wants really bad)...

    Dining which to avoid

I'm surpirsed how many people don't like Tomorrowland Terrace. I remember liking the food there! The had a BBQ burger I really liked. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there (or anywhere other than BB or a WoC dining place) but if I was in the area I'd definitely eat there. At any rate, I'd...

Splashmountain for a 4 years old?

"Small for his AGE", I think is what smarie meant to say. It does give one a chuckle if you think about it, though. If he's 3-feet tall, he's 3-feet tall. You can't be "short" for 3-feet, you either are or you aren't (explained for those that didn't immediately get the humor). I hope dtnrhi...

Splashmountain for a 4 years old?

If you opt for the back seat, make sure she gets in first (assuming you're entering from the main line) so she's on your right hand side. That way, she'll be in the picture if you want to get one. We took our daughter when she was 4. She hated it and I don't know when she'll be willing to try it...

    Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at disneyland!

BBB was a total disaster for our 5-year old. She was a real trooper the whole visit and we had fun taking the pictures. But after about 3-hours she burst into full out sobs because her head hurt so badly. We started walking to the bathroom to remove it, but she was so crying so loudly that I...

    Hotel shuttle or ART?

I would think the hotel shuttle is a good bet because it won't make stops along the way, so it will save you park time.

How to solve queue line boredom?

I guess I'm a bit old fashioned but I always enjoy time in line to talk with my family. Being at Disneyland provides so much to talk about, that chatting in line can be one of the best opportunites in the park for family bonding. If interacting with family is difficult, maybe look for books on...

For those who bring babies to DLR...why?

Babies will cry no matter where they are. You might as well be asking, "why take a baby ANYWHERE?" Babies may not remember things when they get older but their development is crutial during this time and their experiences matter. Disneyland is fun. When babies are awake they like to see what's...

How does CA feel about sharing Cars Land?

If I wanted Disneyland (which I do) I'd go to Disneyland. When I go to WDW (which I also do) I like it to be unique. Imagineers need more imagination. Give us reasons to park hop!

    Saving Mr. Banks.....filming today??

Welcome to Hollywood filmmaking. Location shooting is ALWAYS disruptive. Streets closed, buildings and malls closed, theme park lands closed. It happens everytime they make a movie. You either roll with it or protest Hollywood to stop filming. I prefer to roll with it.

    no more beach balls?

Could be fun if they had just one lighter ball that everyone could throw around if they wanted instead of lots of heavier balls.

I feel like a traitor, but...

Is it a train? I'm sure I knew that when I went regularly for 6-months straight. For some reason it stickes in my mind as a boat. Go figure!!

Here now and it's so hot!!!

Thanks ArchOwl. I was totally confused, too. I figured she was looking at the wrong forcast or forgot to take her meds :beach:

I feel like a traitor, but...

Technically, it's "The Great Movie Ride". You find it at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's like POTC but without pirates or drops. I guess that makes it similar to IASW, except it's based on movies, not nationalities, and it's much more realisitc than IASW (kinda like Pirates). If you ever wanted...

Luigi's flying tires is a ridiculous ride and should be replaced!!

I wonder why you would bring this up again after a month. I think you made your position known already. Why do you need to pound the negativity? My family and I enjoyed the ride. Especially at night, when it is cooler, the sun isn't in your eyes and it has the greatest ambiance.

I feel like a traitor, but...

Don't feel bad. Disney World is great! You wil be able to enjoy many of the things you can't do at Disneyland. Eat at the castle. Go on Dinosaur. See the many awesome shows. I always love the Movie Ride. There's lots of great things at WDW. It still has the original Swiss Family Robinson...
