    JL leaving

JL brought insight, humor, vivacity, and passion to the table. The Trip podcast was wonderful and that's the primary reason I started listening to the other Dis podcasts. You will be missed JL. I wish you the very best as you move forward!

    Goodbye to The Trip...

Thank you JL, TE, JG, DW, & CW - I really enjoyed The Trip. I was with you since Day 1 and was disappointed when Pete announced the change. I hope the change allows me to still hear/interact with each of you. After so many episodes it feels as if I am losing touch with family.

Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Just got back from the POP. Consistently good Value resort. I'm at a point where I can only stay if it is just the wife and me...my kids are too old to stay in the same room. If it is the four of us then we stay at AoA.

    Ariel Grotto Questions/Meet and Greet

    Sorry - I meant 1-2 min meet/greet at best.

    Trader Sam's souvenir Tiki Glass

Not sure if you can purchase the glasses separately, but I have the Krakatoa and Shipwreck on the Rocks glasses (which were the only ones available when I visited in August). The uh oa! is a drink for two (but it can handled by one) and comes in a unique glass, but unfortunately it's not for...

    Ariel Grotto Questions/Meet and Greet

My family and I were at AG in August. As the others have pointed out the interaction with Ariel is brief. Hi, sign autograph book, picture with my camera, and then the photopass picture - that's it. Probably a 3-5 min meet/greet at best. BTW the other princesses in attendance were Sleeping...

    Sure, PM me.

    Playing Buzz from home

That probably explains why you can't find the download link at Disney website anymore.

    Playing Buzz from home

I haven't played it in about a year, but I still have it on my laptop. Upon reading this thread I tried it out. You can still play (practice) offline, but it will no longer connect with the riders at Disneyland.

On site or save the $$? Another which hotel...

I can't speak for GCH or DLH, but I liked PPH. The elevators can be problematic, but as long as you avoid the "rush hour" you should not have wait too long. The longest I waited was about 3 min. The CMs were nice and the overall feel of the hotel was inviting, but not overly done with Disney...

    Not making ressies..am I crazy??

DLR is much different than WDW. The only time I made reservations were with character meals and higher end sit down meals. Of course if it is during the holidays I would definitely get a reservation.

Tell me something random about Disneyland

At entrance of the Grand Californian there is a stone column which has a plaque of trees and animals on each side. Look for the hidden mickeys on them. A CM pointed these out to my family.

    Best app for wait times?

I have used Touring Plans Lines app for both WDW and DLR and found it to be fairly accurate. I have also used Disney's mobile magic, but did not find it to be reliable.

Has Matterhorn suddenly become the most uncomfortable ride at Disneyland?

I'm an average sized guy - 5'9", 170 lb - and I found sitting in the new matterhorn uncomfortable. There is little leg room (can't imagine if you are a tall person) and it's a jerky ride. Funny, that's not how I remembered it when I last rode it 20 yrs ago. The ride was so rough my kids did not...

    Where to eat?

I agree with Surfs Up! - good buffet with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Stitch, and Pluto.

    need new camera for DL

I bought and used a canon sx 260 for my DLR trip. I took about 2000 pics (and videos) and I am very happy with it. I'm not an advanced photographer, though I did take a graduate class in outdoor photography back in the day of 35 mm films, so I like a camera that does the job for me. For a P&S...

California Screamin - loved that coaster!

For those like me who are not roller coaster fanatics, but enjoy mildly intense coasters like expedition everest - you will like CS. I'm not big on "air time" or drops, but this ride was smooth and not as intimidating as it looks (fast start, height, and loop). It took quite a bit of goading...

    Chip and Dale

Saw Chip and Dale on 3 separate days last week in the Town Square in DL. Also saw them in the Storyteller's Cafe.

    Splitting Hotels... Should I?

If there are no kids I would consider it. The biggest hassle is getting up early to check out of one hotel and check into the 2nd one to take advantage of the EE. I split my trip into 3 nights at Hojo and 3 nights at PPH last week. Since I have a teen and a tweener we had to get up at 5:30 AM to...
