Yes Disney does assign port arrival times, but you can choose which time fits for your group. I did the online check in today and the only time not available was the earliest which was 11:00 - 11:30... from there out all times were available with 30 min intervals. I think they try to control...

I noticed this as well when I was checking yesterday. Do they have to know what ship you're on? Couldn't we just say Carnival? It just seems really convenient to the terminal and a plus for me is not having to wait on a shuttle.
