Booking a cruise and hoping it's canceled

Personally, I feel it’s selfish to take advantage of the current situation for personal benefit. That’s just me though.

Same for us. We were stuck just trying to get out of a small parking deck/covered parking area for over 30 minutes. There were many people who missed the ship and ended up finding their own way to Naples for the next stop. We did a private tour not booked thru DCL, but our dinner table mates...

Sooooo lucky! I’d prefer to meet him over 99.9% of all famous people. Haha. While we were on our trip, our guide would randomly announce on a couple of mornings “I have a HUGE surprise for you at dinner this evening”, and every time he did it all 28 of us would say “Rick is coming to...

Oh, two of my favorite things in the same thread.....the Mediterranean itinerary and Rick Steves! We did the Med in 2014 on the Magic and our Rome day was logistically a nightmare. You should easily plan for 1.5 to 2 hours to get to your first stop (depending on where it is) from the port if...

You sure did get an amazing deal on your airfare! Awesome! You’ll be so blown away on that trip. It’s still our favorite vacation EVER...and probably always will be.

Dress Like an Onion! If You're a Kid, Dress Like a Cocktail Onion! Alaska 7/3-7/10 COMPLETE!

I’ve just read your report as we booked the May 28,2018 sailing late last week. You’ve packed so much amazing information into this that I’ve sent the link to my hubby so he can read it and I’ve bookmarked it for future reference. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your awesome details and...

They don't even restrict teens on their itineraries in the fall that have a focus on Oktoberfest.....

Hmmm......I was told by the RS company that teens are allowed (and was specifically told that this was the recommended age, not necessarily a mandate) on ALL Rick Steves tours. I have the email from them stating this. Not that I'm trying to pick an argument saying your friend was wrong... On our...

Oh cool! Glad I could help you get more excited. Reading reviews certainly helped with mine so I get it! I'm very intrigued by your trip to Sicily as I'm eyeballing that one for next year. I've heard it's pretty strenuous...which is ok, but dang....I like feeling like I have had a vacation when...

My hubby MUCH prefers the smaller hotels to the ones considered "luxury". But he also prefers the smaller villages (Bacharach, Germany....Murren, Switzerland) to the big cities (Munich, Vienna). I actually agree with him though and that was solidified after this trip. And yep, I've spent a lot...

I've always thought the same way! On our first family trip to Europe in 2014, which was a DCL Mediterranean cruise, I carried a 28 inch suitcase and a 21 inch carry on and each bag was filled to the gills. We are also a camping family so when you travel via RV, you don't have to worry about...

Realizing you posted this a while back and you may no longer be interested, I wanted to let you know that my family just returned from our first Rick Steves tour. To give you some context, we originally were going to book the ABD Rhine River cruise.....then it morphed into a Northern Europe DCL...

MVMCP: Are you going on December 9, 11, or 13?

We are attending on Sunday, 12/11. It's our tradition to do a long weekend in December that includes MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional (and until this year, always included the Osborne Lights as well. ) We usually do the second weekend in December as the crowds are lighter. And I agree with...

Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

OMG...my tired brain misread your post. I thought that's what you meant, but I just went and reread it. I was mistaken, and I apologize.

Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

The Weather Channel has reported 842 deaths in Haiti. My prayers are with those families and communities. That info, combined with the issues at at B&B in St. Augustine and now the bar there as well, show that this storm was nothing to bat at eye at. Just a horrible situation all around. I'm so...

Hurricane Matthew Closes WDW - Reopens Saturday, October 8th

Hmmmmmm......do a Google search on Hurricane Opal from 1995. Opal went through Alabama as a hurricane after it came ashore from the panhandle and didnt get classified as a tropical storm until it got to Tennessee. Also, I believe there was a similar circumstance with Joaquin when it came ashore...

So about this Hurricane - 10/7 Dream cancelled, 10/7 Magic Canadian, 10/8 now 10/9 Fantasy 6-night

So thankful for your posts and positive attitude given all that's going on! We were on the Dream just last week. Leiber was our assistant server in the MDRs. If by chance he is yours, give him a BIG hug from the Bonds family from last week. He was amazing and he (as well as so many others) has...

My goodness. Praying for everyone in the path of this storm.... I was just at Atlantis last week Tuesday, on an excursion from the Dream. This is just surreal.
