    Rosen Shingle Creek

We stay here often and is usually the first place we start looking at when staying in Orlando. It is closer to Sea World and Universal Studios than it is to Disney. It is always clean and well maintained. This is a convention hotel so it can get busy if your stay is during a convention...

    So does Disney hold cabanas?

Just to be clear that the difference between the HA cabana and the other cabanas is there is a ramp to get in and one to get out to the beach. If I recall correctly there is nothing else different.

    Confused about prepaid tips

The email I got yesterday from our DU TA said that tips are charged to the folio on embarkation day. Tipping is a topic that seems to confuse guests. It is customary to tip certain positions on any cruise ship. Your room steward, your server, your assistant server and the dining room manager...

    Accessible Cabana at CC

My mistake, after looking at our pictures it does have a hammock. There was one thing it did not have that the others did, cannot remember what it was though. Some pics of cabana #1:

    Accessible Cabana at CC

Two years ago there were two cabanas that never showed up at all on the port excursion page. One was the the ADA cabana and then another one that some said concierge held aside. This time when are window opened up to book all the cabanas showed up but the ADA cabana already said 'sold out'...

    Accessible Cabana at CC

Yes it does. There are no steps. It also has a ramp out to the beach if you are able to use a sand wheelchair. There is also no hammock like the other cabanas.

    Accessible Cabana at CC

We have been able to get it twice now being just a silver and booking 90 days out. It is true you do have to call and both times have been told if its available it will show as reserved on the disney website within 48 hours.

    ECV use on ships

3yrs ago when we booked our cruise for Sept 2011 our travel agent from Dreams Unlimited required us to fill out a medical form to send into Disney for our HA room. When we booked again for our cruise coming up in Sept 2013 the agent said nothing about filling out the form. Disney's site still...

** I'd like to swap out my Category 00T Handicap-Accessible Fantasy Stateroom **

Sadly I don't think any paperwork is needed anymore to reserve HA rooms. Our cruise 2 years ago we were required to fill out paperwork but our cruise coming up in this fall or TA said that no paperwork is needed.

    EVC lift question

You would need to get an interior lift for your SUV. There are a few different manufacturers. Here is the most common. http://bruno.com/vehicle-lift-joey.html http://www.pridemobility.com/prideliftsandramps/backpackermv.asp http://harmar.com/products/11 With an interior lift you...

Anyone here drive to WDW with a interior rear lift or crane to carry their scooter or

I believe this to be the case, I have not seen a minivan that the third row seats come out in a long time. Some vans the second row also folds into the floor, this is NOT the case on the Sienna. The way it was with both Harmar and Pride is when you order the lift you also tell them they...

Anyone here drive to WDW with a interior rear lift or crane to carry their scooter or

We carry around my son's chair which is 315 lbs. Our first van was an 06 Toyota Sienna. The company that sold us the chair recommended the Harmar brand of lifts and not knowing any different options we went with the Harmar AL600. http://harmar.com/products/11 This is an interior lift and...

    Amtrak's Autotrain with a powerchair

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think we will end up just keeping the powerchair in the van. Luckily he is still small enough we can carry him.

    Amtrak's Autotrain with a powerchair

We are planning on taking the Autotrain this summer up north. I understand that the lower level of the coach car is where they book you with your power chair. Is there room enough to move around or would we be better off just to keep the power chair in the van and carry him for car to car if...

    New pamphlet handed out yesterday...3/3/2012

I have a very hard time believing anyone at Disney who is responsible in this area would ever suggest that no outside ECVs or PWCs be allowed into the park. If this was actually said and not misinterpreted than it was a park employee just expressing his/her own opinion.

    WDW testing larger busses.

I could have sworn Disney used to use these type of tandem buses (in limited numbers) along time ago or something very similar. I remember waiting in a line to get back to ASM at park closing and after a few buses came and didn't make a dent in the line then a tandem bus pulled up and everyone...

What is DCL's Policy on Traveling with a Sick Person?

I'd be curious to know what happens if you are denied boarding due to illness. Are you refunded your cost? is that when travel insurance kicks in?

    Toilet Flushing, or not

Even so if its consistently intermittent I think more should be done. Especially with 4 people in the room. I would hate to wonder every time one of us sat down to use our business that the toilet would fail to flush.

    Toilet Flushing, or not

I disagree that $200 was plenty enough. To have a nonworking toilet in your stateroom is a major inconvenience for all. I would hate to find a public restroom everytime nature calls. If you were in a hotel they would probably move you to a different room.

Did any DISers see the glowing "Tron"-like wheelchair?

I purchased this light kit: LEDGlow Lights There are a few different companies that make the kits and if I had to do it all over again I would probably get a different kit. On this kit each light strip has its own wire going to the control box. I've seen other kits where the light strips...
