Stitch Replacement?

I agree wholeheartedly with you, but wow do the little kids love the Indy Speedway. That was the thing my son was looking forward to the most. He was going to get to drive his own car...

It sure does take up a lot of space though.

I wish they would retheme the Speedway to a Wreck it Ralph Sugar Rush attraction!!!

Not a bad idea - but the engine HAS TO make authentic acceleration sounds. That's the draw - the "weenie."

I am sure they could do it. The Autopia at Hong Kong Disneyland uses electric cars and they make an noise as you go (which ramps up in speed and volume as you accelerate) - though it is more like a futuristic/Jetson's car kind of sound rather than a race car engine sound

Sounds are easy. There was talk about adding noisemakers to US electric cars at one point to mitigate perceived safety problems.

They could also make the sounds more video game than combustion engine.

Stitch needs a "replacement" because it's ratio of ride capacity to interested riders is WAY out of whack. This is also true of Philharmagic. Even on the busiest days, they do not utilize the full capacity of the attraction. If there is a way to attract more riders while keeping the ride capacity relatively high, then that should help reduce waits on other attractions.

Any idea to upgrade the speedway would great!!! But it needs sound no battery motor.

I doubt speedway is ever overhauled and remain a "racer". That (roughly) four acres of land would be better served for two or more Fantasyland/Tomorrowland attractions.

The thread over at WDWMagic where the rumor originated pretty clearly lays out that it's a 3D ride, more similar to say Universal rides, featuring Wreck It Ralph. Now, they may be wrong - but that's the rumor.

I find it terribly disappointing that Disney is copying Universal.

I am all about Disney rides but have to say the Stitch ride is low on my priority list. Anyone disappointed that will be replaced?

I don't know that anything would be better because of the seating. That alone terrifies most young children. I loved it as alien and dislike it as stitch. I never put it in my plans.

I rode it last trip for the first time just because we were walking around it thought, "why not?" We hadn't ridden it and the line looked ok.

I haven't really seen the Stitch movie or anything, but I thought it was cute for kids. I didn't know what was going to happen and my niece was a bit scared because she thought we might drop or something...so, we were entertained. I would ride it again, but it's not something you're going to over and over again...maybe if a child is a huge Stitch fan.

if they do change it, they need to gut it and start over.. those seats just aren't good for much other than what the have.
Put me on this list of those who will NOT miss Stitch..

I'm disappointed Stitch never got a great attraction to begin with. I'm also disappointed that if this rumor is true, Disney waited so long to put in an attraction for Ralph. I know there's a sequel coming out but it feels like an attraction based on the property will probably end up hastily done, poorly thrown together, and not work out in the long run any better than Stitch did.
