New Luggage Tags for On Site Guests

For those from Canada (and possibly the UK, Aus, NZ & other International Guests): forgive me if this info has already been posted but I just picked up my Magic Your Way Package from my CAA travel agent (AAA's Cdn sister) and it states in my booklet (at p.3 Package Itinerary) that my keepsake luggage tag can be picked up along with my magic band at the front desk upon check-in. WDW has never shipped magic bands outside of the US so this is what I thought would happen. The exact wording is: "Guests who book their vacation package more than 5 days prior to arrival and who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort participating in the MagicBand program will receive their keepsake luggage tags in conjunction with their MagicBands. Eligible Guests who do not customize their MagicBands will receive their luggage tags at their resort during the check in process."

We picked up our magic bands at the front Desk because we live in Europe, but we never got luggage tags. The magic bands were just given to us out of the box and on the second part of the split stay they didn't even give us the magic bands. I wish I had asked about the tags, they look so nice!

The keepsake luggage tags are supposed to be tucked in the same box - underneath the magic bands. I wonder if this was just a transitional error on your resort's part since most CMs are not as well-informed of new amenities/goodies as we would like? Were you just at WDW in the past 2 weeks or so? I think the new luggage tag is a very new thing.

Maybe it was just an error. I'm not sure. In the past we always got the luggage tags with the welcome packet, it was inside with all the vouchers and such. The first time we got the magic bands about 2 years ago we were also given the entire box, but this time they were just wrapped around a gray cardboard thing, no box. I would have liked to have received the box and get to open it, and specially get the tags, but oh well. I remember seeing other magic bands out of the box and wrapped in the gray paper thing just like ours so I think we weren't the only ones.

When I stayed a few weeks ago they never gave me the box with my magic band either - the bands were on a cardboard roll.

Ours came with MB box, but only 3 tags for our family of 4...do infants not get them, even though he got a MB?

Just got our MBs, as did our friends, for end of October trip, but no tags for either family. Have they already stopped doing this?

This is how mine arrived today....

Notice the tap that says "Pull up for details", that pulls up the insert, but it also pulls out the informational card too, now lift out the insert and hopefully you see this....

inside the envelope are the tags (this is how my envelope arrived, it wasn't till I flipped it around and read the other side that says "Congratulations on your new MagicBand. Thank you for choosing a Walt Disney Travel Company package. Special luggage tags are inside")

We didn't get one for our "2 and under" child either. So I'm assuming that infants don't get one. I've even wondered why they get a magicband. They're not using it for FP+ or purchases, maybe just to keep a real number head count for the parks?

Wonder if the 2 and under don't get them because they don't have a package. I know some little ones like the magic bands so it makes sense to have everyone included in those. Our 2 year old nephew loved his and would ask to tap it when all the rest of us were even though it didn't do anything.

You have to book a "My way" package - hotel, dining and park tickets in order to get the luggage tags... I have a Room only ressie and then a package ressie later one day later. I got 2 sets of magic bands. The first set came without the luggage tags, the 2nd set which were for my package ressie did. I called WDW and asked; they told me that only pkg. ressies are given the new luggage tags.

Thanks for all the information. We have a split stay with tickets attached to the first reservation only. I updated my magic band selections so we get the biggest variety of luggage tags. It will be a fun little extra for the kids on their bags.

Does anyone know if DVC trips with dining counts? We bought Tickets through MDE and the dining through DVC reservation. Oh and DME through DVC. Not sure if the DVC reservations are always considered Room only. Thanks

Each item was booked individually, so not as a package. I suspect this means no-go for DVC.
