September 2015 Combined Live Trip Reports

Travel safe. The rig looks good and we look forward to seeing pics when you get camp set up.

Drive safe and enjoy the trip. Life is an adventure and you have a great rig to head on the highway for adventure.

That's a big rig, brother. Be safe.

Alright y'all were loaded up and about to hit the road.
HAMMER DOWN! :car: Don't let up 'til you see those ears.

Sorry, the redneck racecar driver/truck driver was coming out. Our is it the racecar driver/red neck truc... never mind. Have a great, uneventful trip.

Today was exciting. It started out by sleeping in. That meant a change to all our plans. We got dogs walked and then headed to Autozone in Clearmont to replace the Rav battery. We got to AK around 12:15, being we left for autozone around 11 am I thought we did pretty good. I had no problem changing FP around that morning. We did the Asia trek, most of the animals were sleeping, then hit on FP for Kilamajaro Safari. We had a new girl, she needed a lot more practice both driving and giving the spiel. We caught Flights of Wonder, another one of my favorite shows, then to Expedition Everest. We headed out as we had an early reservation at the Boathouse.

Enough time to shower and feed dogs the left for DTD. Did not have too many problems getting there but wow that is a lot of construction. We had steak at the boathouse. It was good and service was very good. Honestly I was a tad disappointed in the steak. Bert can do as good of a job. I did think the app was good crab and avocado. I would definitely go back but might stick to seafood. I thought the restaurant looked nice.

Next we met some friends and headed to Epcot. Drinks and conversation at La Cava, then illuminations. Back home ready to sleep. Tomorrow we will do epcot and start packing up.

Well we made it! Took us about 8 hours with the rig (we usually make it in 6 1/2 by car). Only had to stop once for gas. Got 14MPG and that's with the generator running so I'm pretty thrilled about that.

Tiggerdad, gas was about 15-20 cents higher at that service plaza you asked about so I'd stop before that.

We're just sleeping here for the night before our cruise in the morning so it will be Monday before I'll be posting again (that's when we'll setup camp.)

Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts!image.jpg

Bishop, thanks for the heads up brother. I really appreciate it.

Long, long day yesterday. We got up early to clean up around the rig. We have a dorm fridge we keep outside for drinks that wasn't working properly so Boy Child fixed that while Husband fixed something on his truck.

Rope drop at AK. Managed to knock out quite a bit in the first hour or so - Everest 3x, Kali twice and Safari. Lunch was Flame Tree BBQ which we had never had before but was quite good.

Afternoon was hot. We usually bring two 2-liter camelbaks and 3 bottles of water to the parks and the four of us went through all of it by around 3. Managed to go to the petting zoo area for the first time. I'm not sure how we've missed it before. It's geared towards younger kids mostly but they did score an autograph from Rafiki. For the first time the kids are bothering with characters and are really enjoying that aspect of the parks.

Went home at about 5. A few days ago somebody gave us Blue Man Group tickets so home long enough to change and eat and headed over to the City Walk. It was great! I would definitely recommend going if you ever get the chance. No photography allowed during the show so no good pictures.

Today is Wal-Mart to get stuff to BBQ later today. We have fast passes for HS with the earliest being at 5:30 so we'll see if we make it there today. My foot is giving me a lot of problems and we are all worn out.

Tomorrow is Girl Child's birthday (14!) and we have a lot planned for that so taking it easy today sounds like a great idea.

Great to read about everyones adventures! Also good seeing as you all make it there safely! Such a great idea! I sometimes lose track of who is who, and what each person did previously, but it's still so much fun reading about everyones days! Keep those reports, and especially PICTURES coming! See you in about 17 more days! :dogdance::dogdance::dogdance:

Have a great cruise Bishoparc. I managed a quick run this morning. With the heat I have opted for more shorter runs than a few long runs. Will get back on schedule Sunday. We walked dogs.

Then headed to Epcot. Went on Soarin and then headed to Japan for lunch. We opted for sushi since it was hot. It was good. I think California Griile and Kimono's is better, but this was still good quality and open for lunch. Then we picked up some skoolbread and lefse in Norway and headed back. Time to pack up. Right now we are looking at our wild Africa trek photos and enjoying a cocktail. Hoping to sit outside soon but it is so warm.

Our auxiliary air has worked great the rig has stayed cool. So much that yeti prefers to be inside. One annoying thing I have found is the golf carts going the wrong way on the loops. We always walk the wrong way so we can see what is coming but noticed lots of carts ignoring the road signs. Yes driving back from Epcot, we had one so it is fresh on the mind. So sad to be leaving tomorrow. I love vacation.

Leaving is the worst. Thanks for your pics and updates on some of the new things at the Fort. The girls enjoyed the dog pics as always.

You guys be safe going home.

Made it home yesterday. We actually did a little better breaking camp. We pulled out of the spot at 10:30 and then only 20 min to hitch the car. We have serious issues getting our Patriot Brake in place. It is just not stable. There is usually a lot of frustration at that point, but we got it done and out of the fort by 10:50. New record time. We know it is just over 8 hours if we have no issues. However it is us going home and there are usually some. Thankfully no traffic accidents or bad traffic, but severe thunderstorms in Gainesville. Had rain all the way to Georgia. The only issue we had was when our windshield wiper broke. I am not sure what happened but it was the driver side and it was sticking out past the windshield and blocking the mirror. We were lucky the next exit had a Love's truck stop. We stopped there in case we needed a part. We got out and tightened the base screw. Seemed all we needed to do. No parts or issues after that. Finally something we could fix without help. We still have to figure out the overhead lights in the bedroom. We lost some time in Florida, but Georgia was ok and no real construction on the northbound side of 75. I can't say the same for southbound but we were ok. We also did something smart. Instead of trying to unhook in the neighborhood, we used the high school parking lot next door to the neighborhood. It was much easier no cars trying to fly around us. We could take our time and not worry about the other drivers. We then parked it in its spot for the night. I have to say we came home to great weather. It is only supposed to get to 75 here and no humidity. We slept great. I can't wait to have this kind of weather at Disney in Jan.

Here is a good pic from the wild africa trek. If i can get it posted.

Loving all the updates!! Some of the pictures aren't coming through for me sadly but I'm enjoying the ones that are coming through.

Sorry about going home to Garneska, leaving is the pits.

Well we had to change our plans a little.

We will be checking in on the 18th and departing on the 21st now. Still in a POP UP site...
Not So Scary Halloween Tickets on the 18th
Birthday dinner at Whispering Canyon on the 20th. (8:15pm)

Wish we could stay longer but like everything else in life - money dictates the amount of fun you can have.

Hope to meet a few of you if your around...

Safe travels

yeah, something is screwball with the Dis and some of the pics. I can see some and others I cannot. BamaEd sent me a pic in a PM and I couldn't see it either.
