Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Hi everyone,

What would be the best way to get from the Boardwalk to the Poly for a 7:30 Breakfast ADR? I want to take a bus, but is it possible that early? I will have a car but I really don't want to deal with driving, I'd rather take a bus to the TTC and either walk to the Poly or take the monorail. Is that do-able or do buses not go to the TTC?

There are no buses to the TTC. You would have to take the bus to the MK, then monorail over to the Polynesian. The buses start running by 6:30am, every day, from resorts to the parks. BUT.....keep in mind that they don't run as frequently as the regular resort to park buses. So, you need to be out at the bus stop by 6:30...that way you should be on a bus early enough. Otherwise you could just miss a bus and have to wait 20+ mins for the next one!!! The monorail starts running at 7am...so hop off the bus at MK, walk up to the monorail platform and get the monorail. I would imagine that the earliest you would expect to be at the Polynesian would be around 7:15-7:20ish.

I searched for this before posting but the last info I found was from 2011.
Trying to go to Trader Sam's at the Poly from the ASMu in the early/late afternoon hour. We will be traveling in the 2nd week in May.

I'm thinking: Bus to MK, take Monorail to TTC, walk to Poly. Afterwards walk back to TTC & take a bus back to ASMu. Is this correct? Is there a better/easier way? We will have our car but since we will be having a few drinks we do not want to drive.

No. TTC offers no bus service to resorts. You'll have to return to the MK if it's open late, transfer at DD, or take a cab.

Also, you can take the monorail from MK straight to Poly without having to walk from TTC.

Thanks, after a long drive and planning on an RD for the parks the next day I don't imagine we would be staying too late as to not be able to return to the MK to get back to our motel. Now to get to Sam's early enough so we can get in!

Bus to MK. Monorail (or little boat) to the Polynesian. When you're done, boat or monorail back to MK, bus to your resort.

Thanks! For some reason I thought the buses went to the TTC early in the morning, when we were there in May, we took a bus from POR to MK early and we were dropped off at the TTC. I was really confused, I just thought that's what they did! I never use the buses, we always rent a car, but lately it's been easier to bus to MK, since the parking there is a pain! Maybe we will just drive to the TTC and either take the monorail or walk to the Poly. Especially since we are going to MK right after, I'm too nervous to park at the Poly then go to MK, I feel like my car will get towed or something! :rotfl2:

How late will busses run from Animal Kingdom? We have 5:55pm dinner ADRs at Tusker House and AK closes at 6pm. I don't know why I didn't think about this before!

Buses leaving a theme park always run until the park is completely empty of Guests. In the case of AK, that also includes Guests in the Rainforest Café just outside the park's main entrance.

No need to worry; the park's restaurants notify main gate personnel when the last Guest leaves. If you're the last ones out, Security will courteously walk behind you as you make your way to the exit, and the Main Gate will notify Bus Operations when the park is "clear."

Best route to get from our resort, POP to Trails End Restaurant for breakfast reservation? Need accessible transportation, I use a power wheelchair. HELP?

I would recommend taking the MK bus, then heading to the boat dock and transferring to the WL/FtW boat.

Yes, but the boats start running 1/2 hour before MK opens, and the boats from CR which start earlier may not be wheelchair-accessible.

If your breakfast is earlier than MK opening time, you'll need to transfer at MK to the bus to Wilderness Lodge. At WL, transfer again to the bus to FtW, which goes directly to Settlement Depot, the site of Trails End. Tell each bus driver where your final destination is; they may be able to help you avoid one of the transfers (the bus to MK might be able to drop you at WL after stopping at MK, or the bus to WL might be able to drop you at FtW.)

What is the best route from the Grand Floridian (DVC Villas) to Cirque du Soleil in DTD?

I am considering UBER... thoughts?

To avoid traffic and congestion would it be easier to go to a nearby resort (e.g. Port Orleans) and then take the water taxi?

Same for our return trip (8 PM)? Or can you recommend something else? We have a 9 PM dinner reservation at Narcoossee's.

Thanks for your ideas!

Are there buses that run to the mini golf courses?
There are 2 locations: Winter-Summerland, and Fantasia Gardens.

Winter-Summerland is located at Blizzard Beach. When BB is open, buses are available from all resorts, and from Epcot, AK, and DHS. When BB is closed, either after hours or for the annual refurb, buses are available from Epcot & Coronado Springs Resort.

Fantasia Gardens is located across the street from the WDW Swan Hotel. Boats run to the Swan from Epcot & DHS, and buses run from MK, AK, and DTD. The boats & buses from the parks run when the parks are open; the buses from DTD run until 2am. You can walk to FG or take the boat from any of the Epcot resorts. From other resorts, you need to go to an open park (except Epcot) or to DTD and transfer to the Swan.

You can't transfer at Epcot because the buses and boats are at different locations.

Got a transportation question for you :rolleyes1

We're going in two weeks, and somehow, I didn't realize that our BBB appointment was booked at DTD.

We have ADR's in MK for breakfast, and FP+ in MK in the late afternoon. We have a BBB sitting at noon at DTD, so we need to go from our resort in the morning, to MK, then to downtown disney (and back to MK). What's the best (simplest, shortest) way for us to do this? Would I be best to arrange a cab for us? There are five in the family.....

I have been trying to change the appointment to MK location, but unless we win the lotto, pretty sure that's not happening :)

Thanks for the advice.
