Erin, I can do the candy exchange with your family as we had planned on a certain number and someone dropped out. I'll add your cabin to my list (and you are in our deck so that works good). You'll want to get the cabin numbers of those you are exchanging with (many are on the other group too so you can post there and I can help you).

Got my candy today for the candy exchange!!!! Just need to bag them up and label them!!! Getting real! My FE's are done (but I think I need to make a couple extra for some friends not on the FE), debating if I have time.

Ok, question for those who have been on a member cruise...do they plan any special activities on Castaway Cay or is it like other days at CC? We don't want to schedule too much in advance and miss something special.

This is what I remember. On one of the MC, everyone met on the beach and they took a general picture. On the 3 night MC, there was a time on CC scheduled to decorate, personalize Vinymations.

I do not have my schedule of last year's MC, but I do not remember any activity on CC last year.

I am afraid I fell off the face of earth this last 8 weeks while staffing church camp!! I am not a social media user and could not figure out how to do a private message. :-( my DD is ready to kill me for not getting her in the FE exchange - she has been brainstorming gifts to include for months!! I see that a last minute group added to this week. . . Is there ANY chance of getting her included, if not the whole family? Promised her I would ask!! Thanks!

Cindy, I am really sorry but some in the FE groups are traveling from other countries and have already started their trip towards the US. How old is your daughter? I was thinking I can ask the teen/tween group if they would accept another cabin? It's so hard to have a firm close date as someone is always finding the group after the fact. Most of us booked this cruise opening day and have been planing and working on things all this time. I know this board is not very user friendly for one who is not used to it. If you would like to email me the FE info (listed in the very first post on this tread) to pjstev222 at yahoo dot com I will see what I can do.

Hi, we were on the other 2015 Member cruise, and I subscribed to this thread on the off chance we could be on this one (there might have been a winning lottery ticket in my dreams!). But on the 2013 Member cruise, I don't think there was anything scheduled on Castaway Cay, other than the race. The beach and the lunch buffet provided us with enough entertainment. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful water. Those people who had been on other Castaway Cay trips noted that the Adult beach was more crowded than usual, due to the date (end of September) and the fact it was a Member cruise. We were still able to get a chair and rented a tube without problems.

Well I have had a long week. DH lost his dad Tuesday and we spent the week in Iowa. Now we are back and his boss is giving him a hard time about vacation. as if he could have know he would lose his dad but I am proud of him for standing up for him self. Sorry for the rant but I do not understand some people. :mad:

. Now we have to get back to getting ready for the cruise :yay:

Wanda, so sorry for your loss. What a crazy boss your hubby has! Glad he's sticking up for his vacation, you definitely need it now.

My mother is going in for surgery the 19th or 20th. we leave the 21st. She flat out said to me on the phone the other night, IF something happens and I don't make it, you are NOT to cancel your trip. Dad will wait til you get home for the services. Oh gosh Mom, really???

So sorry for your family's loss...can't believe how insensitive some people can be - with your husband dealing with this unexpected sadness shouldn't the response be "go on your trip- you certainly need the time to heal." Glad you will be joining us and hope we can lift some spirits !

Kathy, we dealt with this so many times when my mom was in a nursing home - we would tell the staff to do what they do so well and we would deal with things when we return- it sounds like your dad and mom have a really good attitude! On the other side, my aunt (who I was responsible for) took a tour to Greece when she was 88 - I was so worried (although I was glad her roommate was a nurse). This was the last place she still wanted to visit having been all around the world - literally - Russia, China, Morocco and all over Europe. She said, " Don't worry, if I die I was doing exactly what I wanted to do." As we were waiting at the airport for her return flight (back when you could actually go to the gate) everyone got off the plane and no Aunt Opie....then we got a message from the airline that they had missed their connecting flight in New York ! Never a dull moment !

Thank you all for the kind words. My husband really does need this vacation now. I have a friend that always say put in Gods hands and things will work out. I cant believe that in less than 2 weeks we will all be on board.

Hi There

I can't believe we are almost there! We signed up on June 22 2014(!!!) (seriously, over a year ago) and the phones went live at 8 am. I remember waiting and waiting to get through, and here we are! Many thanks to all who set up the FE, the CE, provided all the info about the cruise. What a fun group. Bruce and I will be at the Top of the World on 8/23 at 8:30 pm (actually probably before...) for those who will be at WDW prior to the cruise. It will be great to meet people ahead of time.

He'll Everyone! We are so late to join this party, but we have a group of four going! We are so excited - signed up a while ago but didn't know about this group. Last time we cruised with Disney was 13 years ago! I know we are too late to sign up for the fun things I've been reading about like the fish extenders, but if there is something we can do let me know! I will introduce our group:
Connie Johnson, 69 and Nana of the group
Brian Johnson 29, connies youngest son, true Disney fan, "extra special" adult who can't read or write, but has a great mind for all things Disney!
Janelle Butler, 47 Connie's oldest daughter
Abbie Butler, 14 Janelles daughter, Brian's niece and of course her heart belongs to Nana!

We ar all DVC members, live northwest of Chicago, and will be staying at the animal kingdom the 2 nights before the cruise! As we just joined this dis board now, any advice for us would be awesome! Thanks!!! Looking forwar to meeting you all!
